  • I have shot prairie dogs with a dot and I have shot with a duplex, and I like the duplex.

But Larry is making some great videos that are a real service.

  • This is rather simplistic u dont just put cross hairs on a target and pull the trigger there is soooooo much more!!!

  • where can i buy reticles??

  • @triniemrol We don't currently sell reticles and not many optics allow for a reticle change. You may want to contact the manufacturer of your optic directly for more information. If you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-243-3220. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT; Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT.

    Thanks for Your Business!

  • so... what about mil-dot?

  • "and thats the way it is" love that line!

  • nice vids

  • more plusses than minuses on how to use ...but whats better lol

  • Why would anyone need to shoot a prairie dog ??!!!! BASTARD !!

  • what is the pso-1 scope recital called?

  • Comment removed

  • @APGunsmith That is the name of the gun it is used in.

  • Comment removed

  • @APGunsmith I found it, it is called the "Simonov Reticle"

  • @DEADZOMBIE118 Thanks for the info

  • "sometimes eradicate" ug

  • @keesurt:

In many areas dogs are a real pest. A colony can turn square miles into a moon like environment with absolutely no vegetation. All those burrow holes are also a hazard to livestock. So farmers and ranchers need to sometime eraticate them. Which can be done with poisons - but many people do not want to use poisons on that scale so they will open the area to shooters.

I know they are "cute" looking, and I enjoy observing them. But they are also ground rats in some contexts.

  • Im just wondering, why would you even want to shoot a prarie dog? Whats the point?

  • Have you ever been in the "grasslands"? Do you have any concept of the vast open areas untouched by anyone that exist in the western states? Areas larger than most countries. Have you ever lived in areas infested with prairie dogs? There is no shortage, they are not anywhere near endangered, and they are grossly overpopulated in countless areas.

Some animals legitimately need protection from hunting. Prairie dogs are not among them.

  • @studiobtm is that a reason to hunt them? hunting for food is the only hunting, the rest are excuses for shooting living things

  • @keesurt yes i think so too, they always look for an excuse to kill an animal...

  • visit Riflesports for rifle scopes in the UK

  • I didnt particularly care for the prairie dog comments, with the destruction of the grasslands prairie dog colonies are far and few and we need to conserve as much biodiversity for future generations. overall good vid, wish larry would of talked about the BSC reticles.

  • Who is he? Pa Ingals? Nobody eats prairie dogs.

  • @cattnipp No but people shoot them at distance to stop them from ruining land. Sometimes in different areas a certain critter is considered a nuisance or even invasive species and their numbers need to held in check.

  • @cattnipp they taste amazing

  • this old geezer is coooool

  • Try a burris scope gents cant believe how bright lens is...

  • duplex is the way. mil dots suck if your farsided I wish more target scopes used plex reticle instead of mil dots

  • I learned nothing

  • Thats because your stupid,go back to school!

  • I own a savage 11fcns with the new accu trigger and accu stock. I only shoot at a range that goes up to 300 yards. Any recommendations on rifle scopes that are good for that and costs only up to $150.00. Also are the harris bipod any good. Thanks

  • no scope is worth a crap for $150 bucks

  • You need to spend more on a scope...at least $300-400 at a minimum.

The Harris Bipods are some of the best for the money.

  • I'm 15 and i shoot a 7.61x54R calibre rifle which is slightly bigger than a 30 calibre nearly the size of a 30/06... i don't know what a high powered rifle is to you, a 50 calibre? if so, then yeah i agree with you.

  • magnum loads bud

  • mosin nagant?

  • yeah.

  • oh im 13 and i shoot it 2 but havent got a kill yet because i just bought it a week ago. but i got a kill with a mossberg 500 i have a video shooting it down range.i killed a white tail deer

  • Learn what a caliber is.

  • @FalseShadowx excuse me? it's spelled "calibre" and I know what it is, thankyou.

  • It is spelled caliber as well. 7.62 IS 30 caliber.

  • @FalseShadowx

Technically yes but actually no. 7.62mm diameter is equivalent to a .308 round. However there are many different rounds with the same diameter, but different cartridge length.

  • Technically yes and actually yes. .30 caliber IS 7.62. They are both measurements describing the same diameter. Just like 4.4lbs IS 2kg.

I didn't mention anything about powder or case length.

  • @FalseShadowx I know i was just saying to make myself seem knowledgeable.

  • LOL! Good form. You should be a teacher! :)

  • i just got my first scope today it has mildots but i not sure how to mill out a target yet how can i find out

  • i'm kinda unimpressed with this video because they left out the mil-dot reticles. those are even more common than the standard dot reticles. my air rifle scopes all have duplex reticles. i need a Leapers scope with mil-dots. they sound and look really cool. i think those are the best for hunting. duplex is for all-round shooting. can't wait to get a mil scope.

  • lol. a mildot scope on airsoft.... yeah let's compensate 20 MOA on a 200 yard shot... better aim with the bottom edge of the scope.

  • @AirgunAddict256

You probably just heard "mil-dot" and want to get that scope because it looks "cool", but do you even know the fucking purpose of mil-dot is? You shoot air guns for god's sakes, not some high-powered .50 caliber sniper rifle.

  • I'm a fan of the Mil-Dot. It look great on any kind of rifle, and can keep you from re-adjusting your turrets so often in the field.

  • i love duplex reticules, i dont know why, i guess its the looks

  • I wish these videos were longer.

  • @patlfdunn101 agree. this is one of the first vids were its explained basic enough to understand anything for a noob.

  • He could have spoken about a few more types of reticle - let's face it, there are loads out there. My fave for varmint shooting is an SCB sniper reticle with graduations at 0.5 0.75 and 1 MoA spacings (it's a lot harder to explain than it is to use). A dot pretty much mandates dialling in at longer ranges, though I admit I've never used one. This is a truly brilliant series of videos and one I'm greatly enjoying.

  • Oh shut up crybaby you still wouldnt know what a reticle is if he hadnt have told you.

  • dots suck, thanks for patronizing young people too.
