I love how well she dances and how she isn't forcing herself. I've seen videos of girls going on pointe at age 9, although most teachers tell yo to go until you are 11. Plus, they're doing these super hard variations that aren't for them yet.
WOW!! she is AMAAZING!! How do you do that thing where you take mini steps across the floor like you're floating because I am NOT very capable of that right now.. :P
@TheseLittleRoses hi. I am 11. i think you are for sure capable of starting "pure ballet". :P As long as you are deticated. im 11 ( wait i already said that) and i have been dancing for 5 years.
@TheseLittleRoses Of course you aren't too old to start!!! I haven't done any ballet for 8 years and i started back at level 2 when I was 13. If you really want to get ahead to your age group though (since yo might b starting out at 1 or 2) really practice :D I'm going to 3 next semester. well, 2/3 so hopefully there aren't just 11 and 12 year olds!!
She's the only one who's expressive and smiling. A true gem in this variation :) She isn't the greatest dancer in the world by any means, but she's amazing because of her passion!!!
@mydancetv i usually lean back and forth and bend one knee. or i stretch with my hands up, then go to a flat back, touch the floor and do the same on the other side.
I could see Robbie being a professional ballerina however I have taken ballet for many years. What i have noticed for Robbie is she needs to stretch more because i can see that her hips are very tight. With stretching more that will led to higher extension and she will by far be a wonderful dancer! Good Job Robbie!!! You are a truly wonder wonder ballerina!
@popsicle9165 We live in the area and this is her studio. We are very lucky to be close to it. It's wonderful! One day she actually had 3 hours (two 1.5hrs) of master class with Vladimir Malakhov ! We love, love , love this studio ;) ballet is a long, long process but under her teachers now she has improved so much in the last year since she switched there.
She's really improved her turnout/ presenting her heel :) And she did a pretty good job handling those romantic arms! I know they can be pretty tricky when you're young XD
@GawkyBallerina For sure- have you seen her videos from a year ago? The arms are def an issue at this age for some more than others but I agree she handled it - phew! ;)
@mydancetv Yep, I've been watching her for about a year now :) My arms were a huge problem for years. My teacher eventually strapped soft excercise weights to my wrists XD I go to a pretty strict Vaganova school now, so arms are very important!

Im 14, and i do jazz But the teacher mixes it in a little with ballet(She makes us practice leaps,Pirrouets,Demi Pointe, and arches)
I do like jazz, but for the longest while i wanted to take pure ballet.
The dance studio im attending supports all type of dance(jazz, tap, modern, hiphop, ballet, and of course pointe ballet)
But i really wanna take ballet(Normal, just starting off)
But am i to old to start?
And am i still able to earn my pointe shoes after a few years?
sumbody plz reply :)

Robbie is very good, but i noticed that her hips look very tight, maybe she needs to stretch some more and they won't be as tight anymore (:

@lexoist yes they are- she needs to work on this- do you know any good exercises?
mydancetv 1 year ago
@mydancetv i usually lean back and forth and bend one knee. or i stretch with my hands up, then go to a flat back, touch the floor and do the same on the other side.
lexoist 1 year ago
@lexoist like a bridge or back bend? she hates these - maybe this is why LOL
mydancetv 1 year ago
@mydancetv kind of like a back bend for the leaning back and forth, i hate them too, but it makes me more flexible!!

Her expression here is spot on! And that's something that can't be taught. You either have it or you don't. And this little girl has it! :)
