The planned 2018 moon landing is a test for a manned mission to Mars. They will be testing technology that makes real long term missions feasable rather than the short missions we've done so far.

G.W.Bush did on January 14, 2004, "calling for a plan to return manned missions to the Moon by 2020", therefore cutting back funding for other NASA projects.

I hope this Happens. Nasa is a disaster right now! The shuttles are falling apart I just think we should go the way we did it back in the 60' and 70's! We can't let china or Japan Do it first. I came a liitle late. That must have been awsome looking up at the nightime sky and saying we are up there right Now. you guys who lived to see it are Damm Lucky!
