It's about time. Most sound boards are still running on 1950s technology. ...and it can be wirelessly controlled by an ipad? How could you not like this? I'll be ordering as soon as they are available.
The coolest thing at NAMM this year! This will be a game changer. It gets confusing at times, like adding effects sends & returns. I saw a USB port. Updates & plug ins. I'm getting dizzy.
Hmmm...a musician should drop 4000 bucks on this or hire a sound guy for 400 bucks a gig so the musician can just concentrate on playing...not sure this was a smart idea.
@pflo99 I think it's about $2,500.00. It has outboard effects, I don't think it's overpriced considering what it includes. This system would be great for a permanent install in a small club.
Incredible product and great attention to detail! I think those other mixer companies who thought they could rest easy now they have a couple of digital mixers in their product range may have to think again!
FULL RECALL for MANY different set ups so if you work w/several bands, it makes things very easy to recall and set up. It also is great for even ONE BAND playing all the different venues that each have their own acoustic problems. PLUS this unit can RECORD an entire show (with an optional USB drive plugged in). It records the sounds DRY so it can be properly mixed later from any good quality DAW software. That's just a few things NOT covered in this video you might wish to know about this unit.
Next will be the Line 6 manual "PA for Dummies". I do thin kthis is very cool and seems like it would be a truly amazing device. I've read much more info than what is stated in this short video clip and it should be a really great thing for band's or people who run PA for hire that not only can they do a great job without knowing a darn (d-a-r-n is what I wrote) thing about what they are actually doing,
@OcalaMusician So very true. I just got done taking 2years worth of college Pro Audio. And now with companies coming out with all this, it really makes me sad. Kinda feel as if i wasted my time, but then agian im ol school and unlike these "kids" i actually know what compression, gate. limiters and EQ do and how to actually use it.
@SeaBeeLeee Your knowledge wont go to waste. You still have understand the components being used. This is for guys like me with small home studios. In the end I still need an engineer to go over the material & straighten out the sound. It is a cool idea though. But people with your knowledge will always be needed.
@MrUltraworld True true, but still the M20D is a beast! I mean just look at it, a 20ch mixer fits on a coffee table! All with independent gear for each channel!
@SeaBeeLeee It's hard to believe isn't it? I'm going to purchase it & give it a thorough work out. I bought the M13 when it came out. The models didn't sound anywhere near as good as the real analog pedals I have. A lot of effects were missing certain controls that made them special. A lot of their products (the amps) fall short in that regard. The POD is still their greatest invention. a quick, easy way to get a decent recorded tone without any fuss. maybe this will mixer will follow that path.
