They did not occupy or steal land of anybody else. They settled peacefully and the popularity of the religion within the Natives' society made these countries a Muslim majority thus an Islamic state. The Natives where aloud to govern the State which became part of the calpiha and Palestine was known as Bilad-Al-Sham.

During the British Empire Bilad-Al-sham was split up into different countries Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and the proposed state of Palestine. The proposed state of Palestine was never made official and instead the Natives were robbed of their land which was given to thugs like Ariel Sharon who created modern day Israel.

My friend is a Muslim from the western Sudan, who used to be in the Sudanese army. He said many of the people who have been killed are also Muslims, just different ethnic groups. The gov used nomads and promised them land to drive them out, and the Janjaweed leaders use religion to convince their people it's ok because they are kafir or not real Muslims (which is wrong).
