  • One of my top ten of all time..thanks for this...reminds of we did in the 70s...dream to leave here ...forever...we wont get old, dont need water, food and we will never die...a child's gift of memory before I too die.

    Hard hugs..

    Gemma

  • Oh my sweet Darcy.

  • "Bleed in your own light, dream of your own life." WOOOO! I love this song. Reminds me of the good ol days...I wanna be 14 again:(

  • OUTFUCKINGSTANDING!

  • I wonder if this musical recreation of his childhood play, there's a video of him and his friend where they were pretending to be astronauts. just a thought

  • Fish boards, classic Gameboys and the Smashing Pumpkins. <3

  • i miss the 90's...great time to be young...

  • This video is the definition of the 90's.

  • @SpikeLee3000 i just watched it n totally agree. As soon as i saw the Fish board, i was like "dude, i feel like 6 years old again"

  • The face at 3:23 is priceless.

  • lol they land on Uranus.

Uranus is a gas giant lol.

  • is it just me or was smashing pumpkins better before billy got chemotherapy?

...eh, it's ok i guess, beating cancer can take alot out of you.

  • @ihatecivics7 He never had cancer

  • @MetalFeast9 I was joking, nerdo

  • @ihatecivics7 lol........now if i were one of those internet dicks i would start up a fight right now for no apparent reason haha

  • @MetalFeast9 Haha sorry man, wasnt trying to be a dick or anything. i was just saying i liked their earlier stuff better, it seems (IMO) that after he cut his hair off that the music went down hill. the chemo/cancer stuff was just a baldy joke.

  • Lol he didnt kknpw

  • Aaaw, the girl playing with gameboy wins it all.

  • the street seems like a street of tim burton

  • @fucktheworldLOL I take it you are and you're asking cos you quite fancy him. Well at least you have the videos to w**k off to. Don't get too much spooge on your keyboard or your mum will find out what you've been up to....

  • @SophieHawthorne British slang kills me. Exceptional, anyone that can combine fancy and spooge in the same post is pretty cool.

  • @TheJasonFreeman It because we all talk a but Orwellian like....

  • Man, this takes me back. I had some major hardons for D'Arcy. The ending of the video is classic.

  • why is billy corgans new band called the smashing pumpkins? outside of corgans voice there absolutely is no resemblance to the original band.

  • @Mattsass8 Lots of bands go through this sort of thing.. Original Lead Singers like Dave Mustaine and Axl Rose keep Megadeth and Guns N Roses around even though the original lineup hasnt been together for years.

  • @dnickl26 yeah trying to make money off an already established name. oh well if billly wants to ruin the legacy that he, james, d'arcy and jimmy created just to make a few extra bucks so be it

  • @dnickl26 but axl's guns suck big time! and megadeth, well, they always sucked!

    billy corgan destroyed everything.

  • they have pip-boy's!

  • That little boy is billy.

  • awful video for a great song

  • i'm 24, can i say i grew up in the 90's as well, lol. Siamese Dream is such a great album. No matter what people want to say about billy they can't say he's not talented.

  • I really don't have the word's to describe this time in music. It was a great feeling. For a brief time during the grunge era there were bands coming out of Chicago like the Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Filter, Catherine, Hum, Local H and many many others. And as that wasn't enough Chicago also had a strong industrial scene at this time also. I hope something comes along and gives today's rock a swift kick in the butt to wake it back up.

RIP.... K.C. 4/5/1994 the death of good music!

  • i wish modern music could be like this, instead of r&b crap!!!

  • LOVE THIS BAND IS THE BEST EVER

  • bleed in your own light dream of your own life i miss me i miss everything i'll never be and on and on i torched my soul to show the world that i am pure deep inside my heart no more lies a crown of thorns a image formed deformed the mark i'v born a look of scorn to you consume my love devor my hate only powers my escape the moon is out the star invite i think i'll leave tonight soon i'll find myself alone to relax and fade away!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing song and lyrics

  • love listening to this song on vinyl

  • This is the closest you can get to doing drugs...without doing drugs.

  • the girl in yellow was painting like D'Arcy in Today..right?

  • Billy kind of lost something along with his hair didn't he?

  • HOW CAN THIS NOT BE WHAT MUSIC SHOULD SHOULD BE??? SMASHING PUMPKINS THANK YOU FOR THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!! GOD BLESS BILLY CORGAN :]

  • I like good music from every era that I able to find. I was born in 65...so my parents exposed me to good old music...blues, jazz...and everything I else. Pumpkins are amazing..saw them 3 times. But just one time frame does not have all the good music. It's a vast arena...with lots of playing ground :o)

  • @alphamoon65 Amen, my pics for the eras:

    1950s Blues & Elvis

1960s The Doors, Stones, Beatles, Pink Floyed (with Sid)

1970s Led Zepplin, Nick Drake (see also 2000), King Crimson

    1980s Cure, New Order

1990s Nirvana, Smashing Pumkins, Tool, Blind Melon, Sublime

2000s Ray Lamontagne, The Faint, Bright eyes, Band of Horses, Nick Drake (posthumous)

2010-2020 ?? Muse, Bon Iver, did I mention Muse...

    I'm sure I missed many, many....many more...

  • @hellnbk amazing pics..I actually know the newer ones. The Doors have always been my fave. Music plays constantly at my house. It's like turning on the coffee pot..just the thing to do :o)

  • @hellnbk postumous?

  • @Gamagachee uh? Yea...Postumous: post·hu·mous adj.

Occurring or continuing after one's death: a posthumous award. 2. Published after the writer's death: a posthumous book. ...does that help you? or did you not know that Nick Drake died in 1974?

  • @hellnbk I knew that ofcourse, I worship the guy. By the looks of your comment it looked like you said he was still alive so I had to find out what you meant, thanks.

  • @Gamagachee Oh, that's cool...he does live!...In our hearts...and dark souls...

  • ah....1994

  • those kids said fuck suburbia

  • It's funny cause at the end when they're all old, Billy has hair.

  • @MileswillDo Good point.

  • OT : the 90s, to have watched it go from the music scene like this to N'Sync and Spears/ The Spice Girls and 'Knock Off Rock' crushed Gen X's soul...

  • Yes children, land on jupiter, the gas giant

  • bittersweet torture .....finding freedom within letting go of the most tumultuous emotions ....people say the 90's were so fuckin great ...not many know the story behind the music .....the music was great ...understanding it , was completely different

  • brilliant song. the vid could hav been better tho

  • Consumed by love, devoured by hate only powers my escape!

    I shall be free!!!!!

  • The first side of this album is the best grunge piece of all time

  • @Miloseb12345 So true. I remember hearing this for the first time in the parking lot before school and all of us skipping and playing this over and over and over............

  • mmm hotdogs

  • 1990s was close to the 1970. Musical innovation both in rock music and R&B (with the rap music). Hippies as oppose to Generation X. I know I slacked off big time in those times.I was a high school football player in the early 90s, but still hung out with my friends in the hood.We smoked pot , drank thunderbirds, and messed with the chics in the neighborhood. That was before I left for the Army, but I know I smoked hella bud before leaving. LOL

Too bad, I was too dazed to appreciate these times.

  • @jkbezo To add to this, now that I'm a computer tech/ system maintenance at a major call center. Why is it that my 8 yr old boy loves Lady Gaga!??!

    WOW!!.

He is my kid same with his sister (3 yrs old) love this Lady gaga, but that chic is like the modern day Madonna!! LOL.

    I guess times changed.

  • Ah the 90's...when you could turn on MTV to actually see music videos

  • wow man, i love his voice in this song and in 'today'

  • Smashing Pumpkins- Timeless. I will always be stoked by there music.

  • The music of the 90's my favorite area of music. It's they way all music evolved, change the way a generation look at the world.

  • You gotta eat a hot dog when watching this :D

    P.S. best pumpkins song :-)

  • Listened to it on my VHS tape prior to leaving for the office in the 90s...met Billy and Jimmy Iha...absolutely brilliant, approachable fellas...thanks for these emeorie, but more importantly the memories this song drew out of my inner soul.

    Dr. Jeff

    Toronto

  • I miss the 90's! I was 12 or 13 when this came out.

  • I can vaguely remember watching this on MTV when I was like 8 or 9 (25 now)...little did I know that this would become my favorite Pumpkins song and video

  • Comment removed

  • I was 13 when this song came out!!! Holy shit what a time warp this is seeing this video!!!

  • why the hell was i born in 94, i missed the Pumpkins, or at least the originals.

  • embed this video jerk! how many times do i have to buy a license to listen to the same song....ripoff artists

  • u can tell its the 90's, look at the kids haircuts

  • this was my soundtrack to the summer of 94so Noob is wrong

  • Siamese Dream ROCKS!!!

  • I've never been so in love with one band... until I very saw Zero and Billy Corgan.

    Forever a pumpkins fan

  • when did this come out.

  • 1993

  • 1993

  • It was released in 1994 for sure.

The copyright up in the sidebar is often the last time it was re-copyrighted. For example if it was release on a greatest hits CD or remixed or the rights were sold and so on.

But yeah there no way it was 2006 like that one guy said.

  • one of my favorite videos!

  • This song is the reason I fell in love with Smashing Pumpkins music. The video's pretty clever, too.

  • looks like billy, jimmy, james, and d'arcy forgot to go into their cryo chambers lol

  • n_n!! weenn viideo...xd

  • I miss the 90's

  • @baddgerguy me too...

  • so genuine. genius. and epic.

    among the very best ever.

  • there will never be a band like this ever again with the original members-- such fuckin dynamic. They should get back together and make this music. i bet you they would reach top of the charts quickly

  • guitarttimman

  • @akumamenra

Actually they wouldn't even come close. Sad to say, but with the shit that all the other kids are listening to these days, nobody would like the pumpkins. They'd be too busy listening to 50 cent and shit.

  • @akumamenra Obviously if they just toured and didn't even make any new tracks the entire tour would be sold out within a few days but sadly we all know it won't happen because a) D'arcy has left the music industry (not just the pumpkins)

b)James iha will not d)Jimmy and corgan tried but obviously that was an epic fail and jimmy left and now billy's just surviving on his previous fame. That shitty band currently called the smashing pumpkins is well shit . They should've chaged the name entirely.

  • Man i would just get done smokin some mad OooWee with the boys then head to the car right afterward s and blast this freaking song...good times 1994

  • THAT WAS AWESOME!!! I can't believe I actually shed a tear when the rocket takes off and the band gets old! Man, I miss my childhood

  • I was born in 95 so by the time 90s were over i couldn't remember anything but i still have my gameboy colour and all my pokemon games for it haha

  • Haven't forgotten a thing, still the best year of MY life!

  • magic song!!! the 90s....

  • I always loved this song. It's really influenced by My Bloody Valentine.

  • Visa just lost another customer for life!!

  • my baby boy astronomer.. cool cat.. and the church of rock n roll on saturn..... I LOVE YOU!!!!

  • My Older Brother and I used to "build" structures pointed towards the Moon ~1965 made up of beat-up lawn chairs and old steel trash cans (^;

This video not only reminds me of those days...but more importantly the "new" generation which honestly "blows me away"

    I work for a very, very large internet Company......hat's off to the next gen ! Make all others proud, I feel you already are (^;

  • Dude, when I was in kindergarten, my older brothers, neighbor Larry Collingsworth and I flew to the moon via 1967. What we did was climb into my dad's burning barrel in the backyard. An old 500 gallon heating oil tank. It had a small door cut out on the side to throw in the trash and airholes cut in the top. It was rusty and ashes inside but we didn't care. Until we got out full of rust and ash head to toe. I remember my mom beating our asses to death and the hose down. Aaah, true parenting!!

  • lol fucking love it

  • The real smashing pumpkins!

  • just enjoy the pumpkins

  • 0:35 can any 1 relate that to sweet emotion by areosmith?

  • not really.. its common to sustain a single note when singing.. sweet emotion goes for way longer anyway

  • 90s music is the best smashing pumpkins nirvana soundgarden alice in chains red hot chilli peppers

  • Damn, i wish i was a teen in the 90's, everything seemed so much better. Most of all the new music wasn't TERRIBLE!

  • I was, it rocked, your generation got robbed.

  • @FroylanRuiz1 It's true.

  • @FroylanRuiz1 it was so awesome, i only wish i cold go back and live it again

  • @FroylanRuiz1 you have no idea how many times "my heart will go on" was played along with the whole boy band scene, and of course the wonderful Hanson. I do not miss that part of the 90's!

  • @FroylanRuiz1 ...sorry my friend. I thank god I was a teen in the mid during the 90's. You are absalutely correct about the music though...it definately peaked in the 90's

  • @FroylanRuiz1 this was my time 13 in 94 and i listened to alot of punk and shit, instead of fully appreciating this beautiful music.

  • @FroylanRuiz1 yeah, it rocked. at least your here now...with good taste in music!

  • @FroylanRuiz1 couldn't agree with ur more i mean being a teenager now isn't so bad but honestly i would give my life 2 be a teen in the 90's all the great music none of this new pop rubbish and everyone was so relaxed

  • @FroylanRuiz1

i think that almost every single day.

  • @FroylanRuiz1 well arent you out of luck it the 10s now XD and its getting worse people are dressing like wolves XD LOLOLOL

  • @FroylanRuiz1 the 90's grunge era was something beautiful just like the hippy thing in the 60's. im so glad i grew up in this era :) there is still loads of amazing music now though, there always will be! :) you just gotta look for it a bit harder sometimes ;)

  • @EpiTone900 There's on hidden gem from Finland Poets Of The Fall. Check them out you will like them

  • @nicholsjoshua15 ok thanks for the tip, i will check them out :)

  • @FroylanRuiz1 yeah, but then again, you would realize even more (trust me, its possible!!!) how much today's music sux!!!!! but, as a teenager from the 90's, i can tel u, it was the shit. just imagine when this was fresh!!!!! imagine this: i would stay up all night listening to the radio!!!!! and love 9 out of ten songs they would play!!!!!!

  • '94, best year of my life!

  • @pattycakes0077. are you forgetting who died in 94? it wasnt the best year for rock music

  • @mystro810 I was born that year! same month and all

  • @pattycakes0077 Some people had to survive through Mr Cobain's death. wasn't the best year of my life. that's for sure

  • so creative

  • that was cool but one of the most abstract things I've ever seen

  • thats it..its final..Smashing Pumpkins have some of the best music videos ever...

  • The 90s were the best ever! Great music, great clothes, great everything! We don't know what we're missing, stuff these days is shit.

  • @djames238 - Yeah, all I had to do was run down to Farm-n-Fleet, and for 50 bucks I'd have all the flannel shirts and thermal underwear I'd needed. Throw on my black leather jacket and my Doc Martins and I was set, lol. Funny, I stil dress that way some days, lol.

  • @djames238 i agree 90's was the best generation EXCEPT fort how girls dress. i love the slutty look HS/College chicks rock now a days, lol

  • No, we don't live in this cool '90's world anymore...yeah...man that shit was cool!

  • the 90's were the best. we don't live in a world with amazing bands like this anymore quite sadly

  • gameboys! longboards! this smells early 90's! love it.

  • @hupajupa

    Oh yeah.

  • Some of their best riffs in this for sure. Just pure fuzzy goodness!

  • cool.

  • love that droning guitar

  • If "Star Trek: Enterprise" had actually been a good show, I would have preferred a mix of this song as the intro music, instead of that Rod Stewart pop song they used.

Mostly the instrumental parts, with Billy screaming "I shall be BRAVE!" at the end.

But since the show sucked, and was cancelled, I guess we should count our blessings. ;)

  • @lenarends He sings "I shall be free" :)

But agreed on the Enterprise point. That show was awful :(

  • One of their best songs!

  • K This song is about how you want escape from your own soul and body .

    Hence the name rocket .

But I guess their could be other meanings.

  • Ohhhh Jimmmy Yourr A really Good Drummer ..

Billy Your Awesome and you know it .

James and d'arcy awesome tooo ....

    This song is lurveeeee .

    Geek usa is sickkk .

  • This song is........otherworldly, my soul hears it.

  • the drummer never ages lol

  • oh also i 4got to say this when they zoom up on billy and its all fuzzy it reminds me of the pisces iscariot cd cover thing... do any of uses have any idea who/what is on the cover of pisces iscariot??

  • @carrla10 It's James Iha's face, close up :)

  • this officially now my fav SP song for the time being... fav part of the song is 2:18 and i love it when iha does those retarded little dance things... eh im not gonna lie james has always been my favourite pumpkin.. ahahah the end is classic i love it when you see the look on that guys face wen the rocket goes up!!

  • i hate how youtube forcefeeds you commercials

    AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

  • im not trying to sound racist or anything but james iha looks like bruce lee and george takei had a love child. hes an awesome guitarist either way the distorted whammy bar solo in this song rocks

  • I dunno man... read the lyrics. Kinda seious for JUST escape.

  • brilliant video!

  • Wow, D'arcy is a very beautiful woman.
