I thought in the election that Pierce won, Millard Fillmore (the then incumbent President after the death of Zachary Taylor, was passed over by the Whig party who nominated Gen. Winfield Scott instead.

@meragan12487 Fillmore wasn't elected President or chosen as the Presidential candidate, he was the Vice Presidential candidate. 2nd he and Daniel Webster were supported by members of the party but they divided it because half wanted to go one way and the other half the other way. This led to a compromise of choosing Winfield Scott. Pierce was abandoned completely by his party. People rallied behind Buchanan because they'd rather have 'Anybody but Pierce'. That's what he's talking about.

i just love this guy he is a excellent actor and teacher. he is really smart if ya take notice. i would like to see him in a high school teaching them kids. they would get interested in history and take notice. when i was in high school i didnt do worth a crap because i could read something over and over and still couldnt tell you what the hell i just read. do any of you have that problem?? now they have movies and biography channel and shows like this ive learned how to learn. lol godbless

@anotherstalker-I am not sure if you have actually seen the entire 30 minute presentation or the original one either, however, if you did not think some of this was funny, then you have missed the point and have fallen into the category of person that Wuhl is mocking. The point was to make you THINK about what we understand as truth. As an educational administrator, I know that what teachers are required to teach in history is far from truth. Learn to think, that is all he says.

This entire series is fucking disgusting. This shit isn't educational, and it isn't humorous in the slightest. I don't see how anybody beyond the age of 12 could find this presentation funny. What irks me more is the fact that the humor was "cleverly" interjected throughout the presentation with the sole purpose of keeping the kids unaware that they're actually there to learn something. Kind of like wrapping your dog's medication in a piece of cheese to get him/her to swallow it.

Robert Wuhl is using his time very wisely, teaching college students the truth in a way that should be used in every class. You dont see how anyone beyond the age of 12 could find this funny, but there is laughter in the video. It could be because these people actually have a sense of humor?

So much of what we think is fact is just what is handed down from before or what the mainstream media wants you to believe. As for Obama, my point is that we will have to do our own homework when reflecting on his history because the media does not tell the whole story.
