How different is this game from the Xbox 360 Phantasy star? I'm dying to play the xbox 360 version online but don't have the time, and want something portable as close to that game as possible. Can someone lead me in the right path? Thanks!

It's exactly the same, except for some stuff that they changed which made it better. PP is infinite on a regeneration system, you can now dodge and block attacks, there is no item synthesizing bullshit, and all of the content is already there so you're not paying for an incomplete game they have no intention of ever bringing up to date.

Online mode is more like PSO without the lobbies though. Lots of cheaters/hackers, and guys looking for guys pretending to be girls for cyber.

It's both an online and a single player game. If you just choose to play single player then you can choose from various missions types such as side mission, experience missions, equipment missions, story missions and a few more. This game is really fun and I'd advise you to buy it.

@leomarmenmar I don't think Monster Hunter is a copy of anything, Specially not PSO. PSO you take warps into a area and fight monsters. Once you clears areas and gather keys you fight the boss. Monster Hunter you take a quest enter the area kill or capture the monster use its materials to make better weaponry. One game you level up the other game you upgrade your equipment and watch the monsters movements. I love both games I just don't think MH copied PSO. They do remind me of each other though

@Majadamus Except they're fighting PSO monsters (cave sharks). Plus the layout of this dungeon looks exactly like PSO dungeons. Not to mention that the drops are PSO drops and not PSU drops, meaning that hopefully the game doesn't have PSU's garbage synthesis system. It doesn't look like they brought back mags though, which is a little disappointing. However, overall, it looks more like an upgraded version of PSO rather than the straight up bad game PSU was.

Picking between PSP2 and FF:CC is obvious, Crisis Core is more enjoyable offline, while PSP2 is more of a game to play with your friends or online. PSP2 has a lot of replay value though, I remember spending over 200 hrs on the first one and not getting all of the powerful weapons. Crisis Core is more memorable imo, the ending is just WTFOMGPWNED.

@GrahamAndSonCorp if you're a fan of the phantasy star series, or just an RPG fan in general, this is a good pick. there are many missions and each mission has 4 ranks C, B, A, S. The hardest is S and usually for very high level players. So it can be very hard if you don't know what you're doing.

@hanchibanchi PSO/PSU never had a pause function. Game is meant to be played online, you cant pause the whole world, can you? lol and that functions also lacks on the offline mode i know.. If you want to take a break, just leave your character in a room with no enemies.

I prefer to play Phantasy Star Portable 2 then playing the first part on PSP , runs much more smoother and looks better in gameplay and character. I'm waiting for them to give us online like PSU were you can drip in or out of a freely open mission. @metroid and pokemon, if you have any TV councils I highly recommend getting a Phantasy Star Universe for 360, it has (what looks like) less customization than the psp version but you will love the Multiplayer... Think of .Hack but In space...
