If you put a shiny ditto in the daycare with another pokemon that's not shiny. When the egg hatches.. Will there be a good chance the pokemon is a shiny ?

@XxpegasusxX1000 Regrettably no. In the original Gold & Silver there was a 1/64 chance of hatching a shiny if you bred with a shiny but they got rid of that, it's just normal chances now.

for people who have trouble chaining ditto heres a stratigy to make sure you get ditto all the time ok first off ditto only appears in grasses that have like light green in them right? but so do other pokemon so what you wanna do when you chained a ditto make sure that only one of the grasses that shake are ditto and make sure the other grasses are obviously not ditto get wat im saying? if theres more then one ditto like patch reset the pokerader hope this helped

Chaining is the best way to find a shiny pokemon because at chain 40 the odds are 1 in 204. You can also encounter them randomly in the wild, hatch and SR for them with the odds of 1 in 8192.

Try going onto only rare patch if you have diamond/pearl, be patient because the encounter rate is 12%.

If you have Platinum, you'll have to go to the trophy garden and talk to Backlot and hope that he'll say that he say Ditto in his garden. What pokemon he'll mention changes everyday, so be patient if he doesn't mention Ditto right away. Keep in mind that once Ditto is in the garden the encounter rate is 5%. Good luck.

It was for the Crystal version. Now they have it at 1/2000 via Masuda Method, or the regular 1/8192. Look up Masuda Method it should let you know more about this. Hope this helps.

I kinda agree, even tho it's hard to chain for most ppl, there are my ppl out there that can chain really well and get loads of shiny pokémon. Shiny pokémon are still cool and chainers like Z33 really do their best but I think most ppl are much happier when they have a shiny pokémon that they randomly encounter, with a chance of like 1 out of 8000 ..

I don't know...I guess it's lost some of it's magic, but I actually found my shiny Unown purely by chance, and that's not something you can chain anyways 'cause you can't find it in grassy areas. Plus, I got a shiny Azelf entirely by chance as well, so I don't know...I guess it all depends on what Pokémon it is. Don't forget, people can't catch Pokémon that don't live in grass, but in caves. :3 So not all the magic is lost. Shiny Legendaries are still hard to get.
