for more than 50 years the islamic world has been trying to follow the west's promis: "Do what we do and you will succeed!". But everything turned out to be a lie; we still live in the west's economic shackles and the west doesn't want to leave us alone and let us plan our childrens destiny.

that is the root of all our anger and frustration!

If your leader don't want to share them it's non of our business.Do you think our leaders gave us our lifestyle? No!Our people fought for it, it took hundreds of years to get our social equality and you want it in 50 years? Organize and fight , of course it's easier to cry on us, don't worry soon our countries will be just like yours because people here forgot what I just told you.

Harry`s use of the concept of "modernity" is so badly placed, he seems to use modernity as a non-historical mind set, which it obviously can never be. He can`t grasp Abdullahi`a ideas as coming from a different history where the ideas of the greeks (to take one example) were not assimilated as belonging to Europe or Westerns (as a racially and culturally unified construct, which came to exist only in the last 4-5 hundred of years).

4-5 hundred years? And you speak of historical mind set? I guess you are not catholic. ROMAN catholic , the catholic church is the continuity of the roman empire which was the continuity of the Hellenic civilization , want it or not.  I'm french and my culture is directly linked to the greco roman world from it's roots. France is the eldest daughter of the roman catholic church, without the greco roman culture France wouldn't exist today, it have nothing to do with the renaissance.

@Berialavrenti It doesn't allowed religion in public space.It's called laïcité and french invented this concept to get rid of the religion war. Authoritarian nation? France is a republic and in a republic the elite take decision not the people (the noble lie is to let them believe they have a word to say).
