  • wish I can watch this on MTV with surround sounds not with jersissy shore -.-

  • Holy Trinity = Morrison, Weiland, Kobain!

  • Fucking. Awesome. Agree w/ Pres. Pimp on both points - STP is great live, and Crackerman was such a tight start to this show. Killer bass.

  • If you are not tapping, nodding to the beat you are probably dead.

  • Wow! I can actually remeber seeing this. I was very young. Thank you for posting this!

  • unplugged is the best set for any band with talent

  • I honestly forgot that for a brief period in history, MTV was something cutting edge, wonderful, and downright exceptional. and they actually broadcast music.

  • Robert's backing vocal in Creep is so freaking good. Possibly one of the best backing vocals ever.

  • hey there hows your steak

  • all we need is one good grunge band to pop out of the wood work and they would take the world by fuckin storm man look how fucking popular these guys were lol it wasnt a coincidence its cuz they fuckin ruled lol GRUNGE LIVES IN ALL OF US

  • what kind of shirt is scott wearing??

  • anyone wanna guess who shaw and lawnie tubbs are?

  • @99070208

Musicians who have toured or recorded with The Violet Burning:

Lonnie Tubbs - drums Scott Tubbs - bass guitar Shawn Tubbs - guitar

    are these the same guys???

  • yes

  • seems like yesterday

  • Thanks for sharing this - great performance!

  • Thanks for sharing, love STP!!

  • Loved how they dropped into Crackerman Saw STP live twice last year in Jersey AC and Newark and they were amazing both times!!!!!

  • Did STP ever have their unplugged special recorded as an album like Nirvana and Alice in Chains did? If they did it's not on itunes or anywhere else, does anyone know where it could be?

  • The BEST of the Unplugged's was Pete Townsend, Tom Petty and Don Henelys. (Back in the day.) Pete did some Who songs. Just fucking RIPPED it too. Tom is fucking Tom, okay? And Mr. Henley is as smooth as any writer/singer out there. (This one was great to though. ;-))

  • alice, nirvana, pearl jam, stp unplugged = best performance

  • Forever thanks 4 uploading this, mate!

One of the finest (half) hours of early 90s MTV (not taking Beavis & Butthead into account, huh-huh)!

  • Both Alice In Chains, Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots unplugged shows were certainly the best live performances ever in music. This shit is what keeps me alive.

  • @moreirapostal Pearl jam had a good unplugged performance!!??!!...

  • @suicidesucks08 Well, they had a good show too.

  • @suicidesucks08 PEARL JAM IS BORING LIVE AND NOT THAT GOOD VERY OVERRATTED

  • @johnwaynejohnson THATS UR OPINION >>> THAT ISNT WORTH SHIT

  • @suicidesucks08 my opinion has made me bundles of money and like it or not watching a guy just stand there and mumble is not entertainment, entertaining is about looking like you have fun not having a stick up your ass, plus they were just a spinoff band of people looking for a group like Nirvana.

  • @johnwaynejohnson I guess you just cant see talent...

  • @suicidesucks08 there is talent and they are good musicians its just Eddie makes them kind of boring to watch

  • @johnwaynejohnson Ok sure ... are you a musician?

  • @suicidesucks08 professionally no, but i do play like 20 instruments specializing in piano, guitar and drums and when we play live we play are asses off and move and people enjoy it and congratulate us because we have fun too, they will have fun if you look like your having and we do play some songs from this era but with a lot more energy.

  • @johnwaynejohnson thats awesome... let me know when you press some songs or get a site...

  • @suicidesucks08 check out the Led Roses on Facebook and we have a instrumental version of a song we did and more will be up with lyrics once i figure out how to work it.

  • @johnwaynejohnson Pearl Jam sounds nothing like Nirvana, and definitely not boring. My opinion is that you are stupid.

  • @bejerama i did not say they did, labels were looking for people like nirvana, and he is boring to watch, he mumbles, that is not singing but it is like kurt cobain but with no melody, besides the group were known before the got eddie anyway, i think they were part of motherlovebone the guitarsist were, some seattle band anyway, and my iq is guranteed higher than yours and i bet it is double you choir

  • @johnwaynejohnson Hey, Just because someone paid you bundles of money for your opinion, doesn't mean that makes your opinion right, or that person very smart.

  • @propolispills go to a STP show and a Pearl jam show and see what is more entertaining

  • @moreirapostal i feel ya on that.

  • @moreirapostal

yes & pearl jam! i remember watching MTV in '94 or '95 & they did a unplugged

weekend & they played nirvana, stp, & pearl jam & i was blown away at all 3....

    killer times!!!!!!!!

  • @tkon3d Pearl Jam brings them almost to their knees if it wasn't for Plush, ...amazing song. Eddie Vedder should cover this..

  • @moreirapostal both means comparing two, knucklehead. not surprising you missed Pearl Jam who tops all of them.

  • @arielfondaeddie Oh yeah? Well, sorry if my native language isn't English, but just because you found a grammar glitch in my sentence doesn't prove I'm wrong. Pearl Jam had a good show, but I can only resemble "Black" as a perfect performance.. I do like Pearl Jam, but imo they're a special case in grunge. I mean, do they even sound like STP or AiC? I don't like to compare bands, but you can't just put Pearl Jam in the same sack..

  • This Unplugged performance is one of my favorites next to those by Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, & Nirvana. This is what got me into STP. They still rock! I'd rather smoke joints & listen to grunge than wear tight pants & listen to whiny emo punk or crappy pop music.

  • Awesom stufff...the memories are KILLER

  • STP, PJ, Nirvana were all, and will, always, be classic unplugged MTV productions, back, when they really rocked....... ;o]

  • @Rogerrockerable Alice in chains...

  • @hybridtheory3 Oh Yeah..!!! another classic......Seen Alice in chains open up for Van Halen in the 80's........ ;o] rock on..!!!

  • I allso remember interstate love song unplugged!

  • ...But everything is plugged in... Why?

  • @drv30 Hm, I've wondered about that before, but I guess they make an exception for bass guitar because how many bands could actually provide for a "regular" bass? And just imagine a concert without the mikes plugged in... :)

  • @drv30 Kurt's guitar was plugged in in Nirvana's unplugged....He wouldn't do the show without an amp and pedals but they put a decorative box over his amp to hide it

  • This was such a great performance! I do wish they had waited till after purple to do this show, it would have been great to hear some more songs, it was a really short set. Regardless this was an amazing show and thank you so much for uploading it! Cheers! Fellow lovers of 90's Grunge!

  • @pennyroyaltea89 Technically, this was after Purple. They played interstate love song, and big empty, both of which were on purple.

  • @OSDCrusher The unplugged show was filmed in 93, Purple was released in June of 94. I haven't heard their unplugged version of Interstate love song, as far as i knew Big empty was the only song off of Purple they did for this show. That really rad, could you please send me a link?

  • @pennyroyaltea89 Yes, Purple was released in '94, I meant it was after they recorded Purple. I tried finding the link, but it looks like the video was removed due to copyright reasons.

  • @OSDCrusher yea its really unfortunate that some corporate jerk is in control of the music that we want to hear!

  • @OSDCrusher STP didn't play "Interstate Love Song" at the MTV Unplugged performance so I'm not sure why you're lying about seeing a video of them doing it at this show.

  • @OSDCrusher No Big Empty was recorded around 6 months before they made Purple. It was recorded for The Crow soundtrack.

There use to be a video on Youtube claiming to be Interstate Love Song from MTV unplugged but i think it was actually taken from a radio session.

  • @TheFutureadvocate I think you're on the right track there. There is/was a vid for an unplugged version of ILS which actually consisted of a still from the MTV Unplugged session with the audio from an acoustic radio performance (the corresponding video of which can actually be found somewhere on YT).

  • @SunnyBlack7 yeah thats a great version from the WAAFradio studios in Boston in 2000

  • good song, do u have rest of unplugged session? or do u have the complete nirvana session too?

  • creep has to be my fave STP song. kickass show!
