RIP to one of the Greatest sports and entertainers of our time, Macho and the Hulk had this industry in a head lock brother, ow yea! The New Gen Wrestlers Suck LOL.
I actually met Randy at a bar in Warren NJ, at the time it was called The King George Inn. A woman walked in the front door&said "where is the bathroom? "it's upstairs" she then walked back OUT,in walkedRandyUP THE STAIRS.But the Men's room is downstairs by the bar, he was all dressed up, so we waited while he walked around upstairs w/just the "ladies" room! :) He then came down, we broke the news to him and ALL LAUGHED. We actually bought him a beer&he signed some coasters. what a nice guyRIP
@btwall60 Cool story - I remember the King George Inn. It's actually an Italian Restaurant now or at least was the last time I checked. The area that used to be the pool hall is now a deli and I'm not even sure if the bar itself is in operation anymore. Cool that you met Savage there.
r.i.p. randy pass away last week of a heart attack while driving his 2009 jeep. veer off the road and hit a tree, his wife suffer some injuries but survive..
Last week? As of me typing this, that was 2 days ago!! Lmao! Anyways, regarding Randy Savage, he was probably my all time favorite wrestler. His interviews were always entertaining, he had tons of charisma, and he put on great matches...not to mention the stylish ring robes he wore in the mid to late 80's and the colorful ring attire he wore in the early 90's. To me...he was the best. His voice was extremely recognizable as well.~
Hope you can find some more Houston Wrestling stuff. My dad used to go to the Sam all the time to go see it. I was only 3 or 4 so I don't remember it to well.
This was 1987 right after WM3 and JCP liquidated the UWF. Paul Boesch started promoting WWF(E) house shows in Houston and airing some of the matches during an extended version of Superstars of Wrestling.
R.I.P randy savage ....you were the best for a kid growing up loveing the wwf....an later the wcw... i hope you wife recovers soon an i offer my condolences to the fam.....
