Waacking came from a style called Punking which was invented in the gay clubs...due to stigmatism surrounding the gay culture at the time, Soul Train made it more cater-able to mainstream audiences.. which is when it became waacking. Although it didn't come from locking, i can see why people think it did.

i learned this from a guy named Angel who is one of the og punkers, he still teaches here and there
