if it was intelligent design why do we need dna? if god is in control he could just blink and poof, a new human, animal, or plant.
i like the part where you said, "that's nonsense, and you know it." that's the problem, nephy doesn't know it. he will defend his "bible" view till the end.
it's futile arguing with a moron.but keep it up anyway. it is entertaining. good video, thanks.
@ Nephilimfreefree: Ha! He thinks mitochondria are backups for the organisms's genes? I guess that partially explains why noone could get it into his head that sequencing a small part of Wall Lizard mitochondrial DNA did not equal deep sequencing of the entire genome.
Actually, it's kinda funny... There is a LOT of stuff that starts to make sense when you understand that NF believes that the mitochondria are the "vaults" for secure back-up data for the entire DNA. If you watch his video again with this in mind, you see how some of his stuff isn't complete nonsense.
I wonder how he thinks paternal DNA gets mixed in with maternal mitochondrial DNA?
Awh, no point is started to enumerate all of the things that make his belief ridiculous! All day project there.
Why does Nephy reject the idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun? Why ask why?
Nephy knows EVERYTHING. Nephy knows what can be known and what cannot be known. Nephy is the final arbiter of what is possible and what is not. Nephy is in charge of what words mean. Nephy is infallible. Nephy cannot be defeated. Nephy's mind is an awesome force of Gods Eternal Creation.
I told him also that I knew where he got this claim from in the first place because I debated it with him about a year ago and he gave a popular science article (science daily it was):
"Tail clips taken for DNA analysis confirmed that the Pod Mrcaru lizards were genetically identical to the source population on Pod Kopiste."
@Terrencje Yeah he first got the information from that article, but in his second response to donexodus2 he quoted directly from a different article which I am putting in the description now.
When Nephilimfree answered me for the first time where he got it from that the DNA was the same in parentpopulation of italian wall lizards he gave me this quote:
"Total genomic DNA was extracted.."
Which was from the article, under Methods.
I don't know if he understood the rest or that he was dishonest. But I give him the benefit of the doubt. I pointed out to him what they meant by that and that they eventually sequenced 2 mtDNA genes.
I made small series about this. We had a conversation a little more than a week ago where I kept asking him for evidence that the total chromosomal DNA was identical, and not just the DNA of a single organelle.
He kept dodging and now he's run away.
I even broke it down simply for him. 80% of the 17000 (max) base pairs code for mitochondrial proteins. I asked him to tell me where in that 3400 base margin are the genes which code for the digestive tract.
@vickmackey24 I kind of hope he doesn't. Nephilimfree is just trying to hold on to his religious beliefs and I kind of feel sorry for him because he has to delude himself in order to believe what he does. It is when deludes others and treats people obviously smarter than him as if they do not understand biology that I have a problem with him.
It is amazing to me how everytime another mystery of God is uncovered there are those who would limit God by saying look at this it wasn't in the Bible. Then some how have the audacity to think they've disproven or exceeded God in some way. So what Huxleys Brave new world could now become a reality. What does that prove. Many mythologies speak of what could very well be genetic manipulation. The unicorn, the minotaur, centaurs. Man can't be trusted with sticks and stones much less this power.
1:14 I can't believe you commented on Neph's video and he DID NOT blocked you, how?

Theres one thing Id like to ask NephilimFree, and that is:
When did ignorance become a point of view ?
However, since he is uncapable of taking criticism and rebuttals to his delusions such thing is impossible. Kind of sad.

Have any of you guys seen Nephy's new background picture on his channel? Looks really freaky. Wonder who would draw him in the first place.

Error correction? Backup copy?
In his "debate" with Danmill23, NephilimFree explained his understanding of how error correction works.
The mitochondrial DNA, he says, contains secure, backup copies of each organisms genes... just the way God wanted them to be!
When error correction is necessary, the nuclear DNA is edited to match the secure copy in the mitochondrial bodies.
Now you know! :-)
(No sources provided for this revelation.)

@NephilimFreeFree Well, actually, it still is complete nonsense, it just becomes less incoherent complete nonsense.

mitochondrial dna a backup copy of the organisms dna ? bwahahahahahahaha , er sorry.
mitochondrial dna is passed only from the mother and can be used to trace a matrilinear descent. (yes there are claimed exceptions found recently)
Look at the list of genetic diseases to see how well your error correction scheme is , hint: bigtime suckfest.
