  • hey, i need sum serious help, ive tried that method myself as well as at the salon and my hair never comes out right, it looks dry and trashy becas it wasnt dried properly, so i wanna kno wat it is it that makes the hair dry properly? is that you lust extend the tym u spend underneath the dryer ot am i missin out sumthing? pleeease help!

  • do you rollerset your hair once a week or is it to damaging to do it that often?

  • Great Video as always Lorraine. You were one of the first on you tube that helped us all. Thank you

  • Hi, I have truly enjoyed watching your videos. With the alma oil does it go only on the hair and ends but not the scalp. I have very fine hair and I use the same products as you do but I do not know much about the alma oil. My scalp can get dry at times.

  • My hair WAS about your length at the beginning of my 9th grade year, but i've been using too much heat on my hair so i think it broke off. But can you explain to me what a relaxer is? I think i might convince my mom into letting me get a relaxer.

  • Have you ever rollerset in sections, starting from the back?

I used to do it this way, like from the front, but I find that if I start from the back and work my way forward, it's actually easier.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Yes, from the back forward is definitely quite easy

  • it worked thanks a million

  • OMG..GIRL THANK YOU!!!!...ive always wanted to learn how to do it..i go to the salon all the time and have the dominican girls do the same exact thing and i pay $20..but i will definity reply back after im done becuz im about to do this Right now!! lol

  • Thanks girl for this tutorial it has really helped me to set my hair, i still hate rollersetting but i getting so good at it now due to your tutorial. Keep up the good work.

  • I just have to say that song by Mariah Migrate is one of my favorite Mariah Carey songs!:)

  • im about to do all of this RIGHT NOW

i will comment back tomorrow to tell you how it went.

  • THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

  • How often do you pre-poo

  • lorraine, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I tried rollersetting with those type of rollers before but always had trouble with the cilp placement(which is key to a successful set) but you explained it so well I had no trouble with it this time. I found it helpful to practice clip placement on my dry hair before I washed just to kind of get a feel for how to get them in and everything came out well. Thanks alot!!!!

  • hi Lorraine, how many times do u wash ur hair in a week.

  • I wish we could triple moisture products in England.

  • I have the hardest time with the clip placement : (

  • does your hair have to be damp

    or soaking wet?

  • Can you use olive oil instead of alma oil?

  • your videos r great, lot's of good info!

  • Hey okay i have just spent the last half an hour just watching you videos. You got me hooked now i am deffnetly gonna subscribe...lol...you got some very lovely hair girl i bet you get a lot of hater

  • The gray rollers can be found at Sally's Beauty Supply. I think the gray rollers are 2-inch rollers.

  • CORRECT I HAVE THEM

  • Yes,I too would like to know where you got your large rollers from.

    Thanks :)

  • thank u very much , the vid is great!!

but i have a question, from wher did u get that roller set and clips what is its name, i looked everywher in the stores ,and i find that nasty plastic rollers without clips also, plz answer me

  • Question: (I also use the grey rollers)If you were doing my hair, would you use more rollers than you do on yours b/c of the thickness or would you use the same amount? TIA!!

  • Hey girl,

Usually I would use the same amount of rollers. Unless were going for a certain style, than I'll use more depending on the look I'm trying to achieve.

  • *hugs* Thanks! I'm going to do it exactly how you did it then, lol. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to use more rollers :-)

  • you said you used the kara care metco conditioner?

  • yup..Humecto

  • thanks :)

  • music was kinda loud and distracting cuz i love that song but GREAT VIDEO!!!!! =] =]

  • u can roll your hair the other way if u want right? because i like my ends to curl inward.

  • sure you can, I just like to roll up because it's easier and I wrap my hair after anyway.

  • I really enjoy your tutorials. Thanks!

  • glad you enjoy them.

  • Do you think the amla oil made your hair longer?

  • yes, it helped my hair journey.

  • hello, lorraine I love your videos. I was wondering if you have any tips for the drying if you want to air dry without roller setting.

  • I never thought about rolling the hair over instead of under. Good idea, and thanks for this video because the one time I tried to rollerset my own hair it was a MESS, girl!

  • Sorry. i misheard you. you said alma oil... My bad. Is joboba oil just as good?

  • oh you scared me a second with the alcohol lol...

Yeah jojoba oil is great too

  • okay girl,...I LOVE this video! I tried rolling under a few times, but it was time consuming and it didn't turn out the way I wanted. I will def try it this way. Now I have a few questions. One, what do you think about using Motions/Lottabody set lotion over Keracare? Also, what does the alma oil do and why don't you use a serum? Lastly, does rolling under give you hair less bounce/body? Thanks!:)

  • Hey Lashaye24, I tried the KeraCare and it made my hair flaky. I used the Lottabody and I LOVE it! It didn't have a residue to it like the KeraCare and it just felt weightless.

  • The lottabody is easier to comb through the hair than the KeraCare.

  • Why do you use alcohol on the ends? Is it necessary or a must that you use the foam wrap. I have frizzy natural curly hair. what do you recommend. I was using this product called "mixed chicks" bt when my hair dries it looks like a puff of frizz. p.s: I love your tutorial videos. You explain eveything. Thanks...

  • Do you kno if this method works well for natural hair?

  • It should work, I know some naturals do it

  • thank you for this. why do you do it up instead of down?

  • It's easier, and it gets the roots flatter.

  • WELL DONE

  • thanks for this, now i know why my rollers were falling, and i definitely need to use more clips lol.

  • hi aain i was just wondering what you put in your hair when you wrap it and go to sleep.

  • This tutorial is the BOMB!! Your hair is beautiful girl, I thought I knew how to rollerset...now I know why the rollers weren't falling right, thanks :-D

  • you're welcome love...glad I could help

  • what kind of rollers do u use??

  • I use the smooth magnetic big gray rollers.

  • I like my hair to be light and not weighed down, does the Keracare Foam Wrap leave your hair light?

  • Im 15 with relaxer and can never get my hair to grow. I don't know how you do it?!

I roll up my hair and use the same cond.and shampoo too.

  • You have a nice length.

  • thank you

it wasn't always that length though..

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial!! It is extremely professional and very detailed...just what I needed. I was always so confused and frustrated with roller setting but you make it seem so easy! Thanks again!!

  • I'm telling you the more you do it, the easier it gets. I promise..

  • if your hair is shoulder length should you still roll up instead of down?

Basically, i'm asking if it is rolled up, will the curls come out right on shorter hair.

  • If your whole objective of roller setting is to wear a silky, straight down, wrap style, than yes it will still turn out just fine. If your actually trying to wear the roller set as a curly style (pin curls) than you should probably roll down. I hope this makes sense to you.

  • Hi:)Thanx so much 4 sharing this it is SO helpful-all of ur videos r**I subsc.& look 4ward 2 learning more from u!

  • thank you

  • Do you think roller setting is a good option for un-relaxed 2b hair..my hair blow-dries really easily..so usually i blow dry to get it straighter..and because of my layers i can't really wear my hair down/natural cause it looks like jeri curls....Do you think this would straighten my hair without using heat.

  • Hi chopsuey,

I think you should try it, you definitely would have to really make sure that you smooth your curls out on the roller. Try it, tell me if it worked out for you.

  • just a quick question. why do you roll up instead of down? does it give you a better result?

  • I like to roll up because I find it makes your roots more smoother, also because its actually a little more easier than rolling down
