beautful song....the resolution to the tension at 1:26 is perfect. The problem is they never bring that resolution back in the rest of the song. They should have put that part in there at least one more time in my opinion.

just heard this song and I too have fallen in love with this song..Now to say that she is better than Amel on Softly softly is saying ALOT!! I wouldn't agree 100% on that ... Amel Lareux has a different sound all together.. Amel's voice being alot brighter in sound and Aya sounding more like Sade!!!

Either way I have fallen in love with yet another Sweetback creation!! I wish I could get this album..have been browsing all night on the net and many places do not have it any more.

The ending scenes in the film is a goodbye between the two characters which to me, the real song choice Just Like Honey sounds just like it(esp at the beginning of the song) and it also expresses the right feeling at the moment.

This is the work of Sweetback,melting Aya's vocals in. Listen to the bass pushing her vocals forward. Aya is VERY under-rated, she reminds me of the early 80's when Sade first started.

Oh forget the couple of silly people that dont think her voice is strong enough on this track, Aya handled this with beautiful dealicacy, sade would not have done such a good job, dont get me wrong sade is great and i like her alot but Aya makes you feel like your heart could break listening to the way she gently whispers the lyrics and wraps them around the melody, they are one an the same and it sounds perfect. I love her album strange flower to and i hope that she releases another soon.

I have the Sweetback Stage 2 album and she is featured on most of the tracks. It is my opinion that her voice is not very strong. I guess she felt hurt and alone on the rest of the tracks also if your statement is true. She has a nice voice but as I said Amel Larrieux would have taken this song to another level.
