  • I cant access the internet.. I have two csrss.exe and winlogin.exe. How do i fix this problem..

  • @Xspree That's normal. You probably have a virus on your computer that won't let you connect to the internet.

  • Oh and one more note. If Csrss.exe is NOT in the windows/system32 folder, then it is a virus.

  • blue screens are scary...

  • This is normal in so many ways.

  • well this is not a virus search CSRSS on google and the sites say its not

  • If you reboot your computer, will it work again?

  • @MegaGPlus It should.

  • @MegaGPlus it worked on my online virtual machine

  • @MegaGPlus Yes.

  • Oh, I have been so stupid... and lucky. I thought I had a virus on my PC, and I searched around the internet. Some people were talking about csrss.exe that it might be a virus, and that you have to remove it. I didn't know it could be such an important process. I tried to end it, but it wouldn't allow me to (I guess that's because I'm not the administator...?). If I were, I would have killed my PC. :l

  • @pat20105 Yes

  • @pat20105

Yes, this happens in Windows XP and Windows 7 as well. The system simply cannot function without csrss.exe. csrss stands for Client/Server Runtime Subsystem. It is the core of Windows because it functions partially in user mode AND in kernel mode at the same time.

  • @lordsyn86 The kernel half of Csrss.exe is win32k.sys.

  • what does csrss.exe do?

  • @fanofzimmertwins crss.exe is the Operating System itself

  • ok i was looking at sites and i clicked on 1 and it said virus downloaded get rid of it now! so i did a virus scan and nothing was detected

  • ever since i had this virus ive becoming ultra paranoid of bizzare sounding .exe proccesses, lol

  • there is a virus with winlogon.exe too if the process is called winlogon.exe you are SAFEEEEEEEEEEE but if u got winlogon.exe and winlogin.exe then winlogin.exe is most likely a trojan nvr delete winlogon only winlogin if see 2 of them

  • @killerappi4 winlogin with a capital i?

  • msn tells me that that process has to be ended in order to update ive been trying to kno wtf is wrong ...PLZ HELP!

  • @billyruizguerra haha, i dont think you wanna end it, i ended it when i got an msn virus cuz it had like no description, thinking it was the virus, and it crashed my computer

  • @MrBrickwurg

it hasnt crashed mine but a blue screen appears and the problem is 1 is the virus and the other is the real but i cant delete it nor end it ........how can i remove it? it crashed my itunes and msn i cant update neither :$.............or how can i block it or something ...........( the virus ) the other is part of the computer but i dunno which is which

  • @billyruizguerra yeah, i dont know why but it took a few tries to fix mine. i wanna get windows 7, i hate windows vistas OS...im sure i would only have at least half of these problems if i buy like professional or something

  • Hi, I have two of these processes running at the same time in task manager. One is visible wihtout 'show all process from all users', with no user name. When I press show all I can see two. I have a winlogon.exe with no user name too.

  • @indigomist That is normal.

  • @ITshowhoster hi my pc has vista home premium and my csrss.exe is using 6,044K of memory/cpu or whatever it uses. i have norton 360 4.0, avast anti-virus & malwarebytes. i scan with all of them regularly. is the size of usage correct for the file or not? if not, what should i do?

  • @ITshowhoster i have the same thing as indigomista csrss, a winlogon with no user name. plus one called wuauclt.exe is that normal too?

  • @NerdHerdJerk

use malwarebytes anti malware to scan your comp for virusses and fake processes

  • @ITshowhoster how do i make it not infected

  • @indigomist I have the same and something called ati2evxx.exe.

    And with blank description.

Have you got rid of it yet?

  • @indigomist man that is a virus

  • @yuuto3333 Are you sure?

  • @indigomist Yes it CAN be a virus but if you check system32 file and it's there then it's fine.

  • i have this process running on my computer, only one of them, with no description, could this be a fake or real one?

  • @chiggerskido If you are viewing Task Manager without clicking the 'Show processes for all users', it is the real one.

  • @ITshowhoster Thanks dude

  • hi i think i got something with winlogon

    q2awinlogon.dll c:\DOUCMENTS and settings

    WinLOGON .exe c:\I386

    winlogon.exe c: windows servicepack files

  • when im about to end this with process explorer my heart beats fast and i become nervous and shaky

  • @unicron245 that's what i would feel if i was going to do it or any other types of computer things

  • @unicron245 me 2

  • @unicron245 I know right? :P

  • in windows xp can u end this process with microsoft process explorer?

  • why "in windows vista" ? it is important process in all windowses...

  • I thought I had the "csrss trojan" too. Tried ending the process and got that evil blue screen.

Did a full search for all hidden or non-hidden "csrss" files, and none of them have been modified in at least 2 years. So that writes out the trojan.

I've been randomly getting thrown into blue crash screens, even when just searching Wikipedia, so I thought the trojan was the culprit. Turns out my registry is all messed up. I cleaned it out, but I've still gotten the odd blue screen.

  • And is it only a problem if there's more than one or something?

  • What happens with Windows 7? And why doesn't norton pick it up?

  • Looking at other videos, Windows 7 will also have a blue screen if you do this.

  • ive done it like 22 times so far becuz i cant get if off

  • i just did by accident:[

  • i will try it

  • Better not if you are running Windows Vista...

  • What about Windows XP? o.o

  • It will display an error message, saying that it is a critical process.

  • the hackers that designed this are gaylords. Just gaylords, lol is there any command to end it?
