what causes the skeleton to shoot the creeper?

@Gawtrybe he gets hit by the snow golum and tries to attack him. but he doesnt hit him because there is an object in his way. so the golum stays alive and the skelly keeps shooting in his direction. when the creeper gets between the golum and the skelly he gets shot and dies because he is already hurt --> record win!

@MrBaconboyJr the snow golem infinitly shoots the zombie without doing damage. The skeleton gets carted in the corssfire and gets hit, the skeleton is then trying to kill the snow golem. The creeper is dropped infront of the snow golem, at the same time pistons open allowing the skeleton to shoot at the golem hitting the creeper. As soon as the creeper is shot by the skeleton and killed (dropping a record), the piston closes stopping the skeleton from hitting the snow golem. I think. :D

Nice! Altough the problem is,(in my opinion)that finding and catching creepers is difficult if your playing on survival,but nonetheless pretty awesome :)

How to separate creeper from other mobs if I have this connected to a mob trap?

@N09357 Use a daylight filter: Let the mobs sit in daylight for a while, then release them. Zombies and skeletons will be dead. Water will get rid of the endermen and a one wide passage will filter out spiders.

snow golems attack monsters. the snow golem takes agro to the zombe. as the skeleton swims by the golem shoots it now takes agro to both the zombie and the skeleton. the skeleton wants to shoot the golem but can't because the wall. once the creeper comes it lands between the golem and the skeleton. the creeper opens a piston making the golem vulnerable to the skeletion. the skeleton shoots thinking he'll hit the golem but hits the creeper killing it. the piston then closes once the creeper dies.

Only problem: separating creepers is a pain, and can't be fully automated since it needs you to let the creepers trough when the others mobs died from sunlight. Neverthless really cool and really is the fastest way to get all the records :)

But you can only spawn them in creative so why you wont spawn the records or else you first need to spawn eggs and then wait for maybe 3 records in a minute.

@haze9600 You can attach a mob trap to the system. I only used Creative mode because it's so much easier to present things when you have unlimited resources and flying.

@Tubeofjokes The snow golem is so that the skeleton gets hit by it pn the way there. The skeleton tries to shoot the golem, even though it is out of range. Hits the creeper.

@gnarvin There are numerous ways to seperate creepers from other mobs. Then I'd get them into the channel using water =) It was just much more convenient to build and test in Creative Mode.

@TheReedim So this video is really just a proof of concept. Am I right? You could separate the creepers from the other mobs using maybe a skylight to burn all of the skele's and zombies. Then trap a creeper, trap a skeleton, make a snowgolem. and BAM! Insta record farm. This is very nice. Congrats on thinking of something so awesome!

@gnarvin Creepers walk to the right when they're about to explode, and they don't burn in the sunlight. You can make a dark room with a separation system :p (Place a snowman in front of a straight 1x1 bridge, the skeletons will fall 15 blocks from the snowman, zombies won't attack, and creepers will fall ~2 blocks away from the snowman.)

Creepers dropped the yellow records since records were added- Only if a skeleton kills them with a finishing blow.

In a recent update, instead of just the yellow disk, they now drop every disk when a skeleton kills them, apart from 11.

@TheReedim A design similar was made where the user sepperated all the mobs into creepers and skeletons. Then farmed them using a snow golem and made it fully automated. Not sure who made it but it has been done. Ingenious Idea what you came up with.
