  • I've been lifting weights for 20 years and your form is horrible and extremely dangerous. Arching the back like that? Bouncing the bar off his chest? Ridiculous. Drop the weight from 225 lbs to 135 lbs and do a set of 10 with perfect form: back flat/no arching, no bouncing, total control coming down, total control lifting up.

  • He may not be chasing results, have you guys ever seen a powerlifter bench massive weight? They use laughable form but it gets the weight up and that's all that matters to them.

  • I'm not gonna hate here cuzz the guy's still capable of something even at his age, but thats not benchpress man, it's failpress, bench is when you're not benting your back like a banana & not slammin the bar on your chest, at your age, it's kinda dangerous because your bones are getting thinner and weaker.     It is too late to start lifting decent weights at that age.

    His body has probably been doing this for 20 years, so it's adapted over a long period of time, and it has muscle memory. If you're just starting out at 63 with no muscle memory of weight lifting, you're not going to get very far because your bodys age inhibits growth, at that age youre more likely to just maintain your weights, but new people, just do fitness.
