  • german is awesome and everyone needs to learn it

  • ist nicht das wunderbar

  • @MrMdawg2 XD Wait... What does it mean ?!

  • For all I care, it could translate to "eat monkey shit and dance with a fat dude" when it rocks like THIS.

DOES kin of make me want to learn German, though...

  • YEs !

  • i raped the replay button

  • Have you ever noticed how most of the people watching this don't know what it means, yet it's still an amazing song.

  • who else agrees with me that the keyboard at the end would make an awesome ringtone

  • hasst-hate; hast-have; it makes sense both ways, and that was the intention of theirs...

  • You, you have, you have me

    You have me asking

and random no's. hahahaha. That's all I remember from German II.

  • Some of the lyrics are still wrong. It compromises the meaning.

  • Seriously? Someone voted DISLIKE? Well, ESSEN SCHEISE

  • wer brauch für so ein Lied Lyrics You have You have me

  • I listen "Wilst du bis der Tod "VOR" scheidet" I don't listen "euch" anytime.

  • I thought it was "Du hast mich GERFRACHT" not "GERFRAGT"...

  • why does german sound like the language of satan?

  • @Deathriken because this is all the german anyone has ever listened to, so they think the entire language sounds like a metal song, when it doesnt

  • @renaissancekids ok, let me rephrase it. why does till's singing make german sound like the language of satan?

  • THE GERMAN LANGUAGE SOUNDS EPIC XD

  • with 2 ss is hate and with 1 its have

  • Su-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

put it on my rockout playlist- for obvious reasons...

  • you hate me = Sie hassen mich

  • @zeeduk That would be the formal form, with respect. Or it might mean "They hate me"

  • Jesus Christ. Why can't people just understand, that "du hast" means TWO things, depending on the spelling! Du hasst - you hate, Du hast - you have. Du hast mich - you have me, Du hasst mich - you hate me. You can NOT hear the difference when it is pronounced, only when you say "du hast mich gefragt" the meaning of the sentence is different. Then it means You have asked me.

GET IT RIGHT YOU DUMB M F

And, jeez I love this song!

  • @Suddirutten Du hast means you hate and you have, depends on how you use it. The du conjugation of haben and hassen are the same. Since hassen already has an s after taking off the sen adding an s with the t is unnecessary. I discussed this with my German teacher. When they wrote it they meant for it to be interpreted which ever way: You hate or you have. Sorry about my rant but your false statement irked me, mostly because you are yelling at other people for being wrong.

    Aufwiedersehen!

  • @th3sims3cycl0n3 So tell me why du hast (you hate) is spelled with a double s (you know, the letter that looks like a B) in German? I discussed this with MY German teacher. Yes, I agree that it is made to be interpreted both as du hast and du haBt. I did write that. What I don't understand is what I wrote wrong? What I've written is completely right. Ask your German teacher if anything I wrote is grammatically wrong, please. I'd like to hear it.

  • @Suddirutten If you are right and du hast means you have and du hasst (haBt, btw the B is called an s set and is takes the place of two consecutive s) then why when they recorded the english version of this song did they say "You hate" instead of "You have"? Hrm? Id like to hear you answer that one, smart ass. You don't always have to be right, and actually I did ask my german teacher, whom by the way actually LIVES in Germany now, and her first language is german and she called you an idiot.

  • @th3sims3cycl0n3 what does it matter, who cares if you are right, who cares if you are wrong, it will never matter. even if Suddirutten is wrong it still doesn't matter. im not hatting on you or him. im just saying (if you dont get it yet) it doesn't matter. why did you come here in the first place? To hate? or to listen to music?

    P.S i dont know german.

  • @Suddirutten

IKR!!! first i wana say i agree completly with the comment but i also have to ask....who do you like best?! I KNOW, I KNOW!!! its difficult to only pick 1 but.....who you like best?!

keep on rockin and let rammstein stay in your heart!!! RAMMSTEIN HARDCOR!!!

    =^u^= MEROW!

  • @Suddirutten i like squirrels

  • Does it really matter what it translates to? Could we please just listen to it and comment on how awesome it is, without arguments? thank you. Cheers.

  • Du hast- you hate Du hast mich gefragt- you have asked me

  • @mmasterrrrrrrrrrrrrr Normally, hast would be hate. When you add the last word, though, (mich) it becomes 'You have me" altogether. And You were right on the second one. Du hast mich degragt is you have asked me.

  • O.o how did u get the "ü" in this vid?

    I thought english keyboards don't have the "ü", "ä" and "ö" buttons :D

  • @SeemtexX you hold control and something else

  • @SeemtexX

you can also use ALT + NumPad

  • @xiDiViNaTi0n Ok, thanks... just wondering that you can write 'ä,ö,ü' with an english/american keyboard ;)

  • Rammstein is bester band ever!

  • the english one is shit

  • Okay people instead of arguing on what it means Why don't you just listen to the English version. God. Menschen statt streiten darüber, was es bedeutet, warum Sie nicht nur hören Sie die englische Version. Gott.

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13 Google translator ftw? xD

  • @SeemtexX ikr?

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13 ehh whats ikr? :D

  • @SeemtexX it means "i know right"

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13 ahh ok^^

  • fucking love this song! <3

  • @ olineshutdown

you are right about the lyrics, i asked my german teacher to translate it for me when i was in school. if you watch the official video for it, it kinda explains the story behind it. from what i can remember, she asks him to marry her and he just, as it were, says nothing...

  • Song sounds better when played from your Favorites, AND even better when you've rated it up and commented!

  • this is the good version not with mesh instead of how it schould be with MICH!!!!

  • is there lyrics in english?

  • @TheAztec96 Yes, there is, but I haven't uploaded one.

  • @TheAztec96 there's also a version of the song [by rammstein] that is in inglish ^_^

  • @TheAztec96 Du hast means I have in german

  • @canollady It means "You have".

  • @TheAztec96 ya some ppl do that

  • Damn.. its time like this i wish i kept in touch with my german teacher from school then i could tell you lol

  • and TheDreadfulEnding is right. HaSt is have and haSSt is hate.

  • its bist, not bis

  • ok i am german and their saying du hast mich(you have me) plus in the official translated video thats what it is.

  • THUMBS UP IF THE GMOD IDIOT BOX BROUGHT YOU HERE!

    "Gravity Cat Not Amused!"

  • nice!

  • The song is saying that 'you have me'-'du hast mich' yet 'you hate me'-'du hasst mich' It's an awesome use of German grammar (because the words sound the same) to convey the fact that though he gives this person everything, they still ignore him..

  • @ICE488official Do you speak German, like fluent?

  • this song os a clever use of german words.

in the first section of the song he repeats "du hast" as in "you hate"

yet in the rest of the sections he says "du hast mich gefragt" as in "you have asked me"

    pretty sweet! :D

  • Translators SUCK! Ask someone who speaks fluent German. :)

  • hahaha i hate it!!!! people doesn't know it!!!! it's not " u hate me" blah blah, it's "u have me" and then it says "you have asked me" it's not "hate", it's "have". hate is "hasst" this is a good song for learning german but... learn it good!

  • @ICE488official

    haßt

  • Too cool song(:

  • "Hast"-Hate

    "Hasst"- Have

They sound the same spoken though, so it's a song with literally two meanings.

  • @TalesFromTheKeyboard

    Other way around.

    Hast = Have

    Hasst = Hate

  • not quiet right "Hast" spoken means "Hate" and "Have" in German.

So you can translate it with "You! You have got" or "You! You hate me"

  • wow your awsome i was just lisening to this song! i know what it means."it's you! you hate! you hate me!" right!

  • @BlackKatJing haha :P there is a lot of controvery going on about that. it's actually sort of about a wedding, du hast mich means you have me. close! :) you can look up the translation and see what i mean, lol

  • @ReiRarw Well it actually is You Hate Man Lol(I play a lot of guitar) XD

  • @ReiRarw Isnt it saying "You have asked me and ive said nothing?

  • @Olineshutdown I think so. But you know, honestly, after over 200 comments on my other video on what it means, I stopped caring.. lol..

  • @ReiRarw He's saying "You have asked me and Ive said nothing" Meaning she said will you marry me and he doesnt have an answer.....

  • @Olineshutdown It's actually "You would have me answer, but I have not."

  • You you have you have me you have asked me you have asked me and i said nothing ;)

  • @BlackKatJing You. You Hate. You Hate Me. You have asked me and i've said nothing. Check upon your german. :D

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13 it's you have. you hate would be du haßt, very similar, but totally different meanings. maybe you should brush up on your german.

  • @THEironmaid3n Why don't you listen to the English version. listen to what he says. Till likes to play with the german language.

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13 whatever, be wrong your whole life. what do i care?

  • @THEironmaid3n Have you even heard the damn english version? If you did you wouldn't me telling ME I'm wrong. Bitch.

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13 fuck off bitch. i'm just telling you what i know. now shut your trap and move on, you can't always be right.

  • @THEironmaid3n i understand i'm not always right, but you are being a Hypocryte because in this case, i am right. In the english version till sings "You. You hate. You hate me. [reapeat] You Hate Me To say And I Did Not obey!" Look it up. Damn.

  • @xxblackmagnoliaxx13

The English versions are drastically different from the German versions. In America he just says "Do you want me? No I don't" over and over. I actually KNOW German, it's you have.

  • @jacobpotter in the english version he says "You hate". and i know its you have. my mom likes to hack my account and she INSISTS that is "You hate." I apalogize for any inconvenience my bitch of a mother caused you.

  • @BlackKatJing

no it's not. It's Du Hast, (you have) not Du Hasst (you hate.)

It means "You [would] have me answer, but I have not answered."

  • @ Jacobpotter nvm i alread now that since like 10 people told me.so stop telling me it.

  • @BlackKatJing no...it means, "you have me"..actually. hate is hasst. hast is have.

  • @melicious96 to settle the confusion, look at my lyrics and translation video. read the discription, that eplains EVERYTHING. you'll see its a double meaning. that should settle it. im not telling u to cuz i want views, im telling u too cuz i want people to understand.

  • @BlackKatJing You got me.

  • @BlackKatJing Have and Hate are homonyms in German (Hast and Hasst). They're playing on the similarities.

look up Du Hast on Wiki. Full explanation there.

  • @PlayerXIII yes, exactly.

  • @BlackKatJing

You really don´t know any German. It´s:

You, You have, You have me, You have asked me

  • @Mr1994joshua i cleared that like 9 months ago 0u0;
