For all of these critics who don't know who this guy is... It's William Kanengiser of the Grammy winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, meaning I wouldn't criticize him if I knew what was best. Not to mention he teaches guitar at the University of Southern California (USC Thornton) so yeah...
thanks a lot. this is very helpful. it takes a lotta practising though. i practise throughout the video n now i'm typing this comment with my sore hand.
@mcrkid22 Lol.... I know the feeling. Classical guitar is almost another instrument. The scales are set up differently, you use the chords differently, the way you hold it, the way you pluck, your hand is used differently on the fret board, and just about everything else. The only thing that classical gituar has in common with acoustic guitar is... they're both called guitar playing.
I will never forget my first classical guitar lessons. I said the exact same thing you did over and over.
I cant get my son-of -a-bitch anular finger to strum like that. Yet. Im gonna practice until i nail the Rasgueado though cause it sounds awesome, and is hugely important in playing flamenco
Me encanta el video. Parece mentira que el unico video que he visto en youtube enseñando los rasgueados en condiciones sea de un señor que habla en ingles. Muchas Gracias por el aporte,
This guitarist is Bill Kanengiser, who was with the LA Guitar Quartet before going solo. You might enjoy hearing him play classical guitar, Mozart's Turkish March, for example - incredibly difficult - or his original compositions. He's one of the most accomplished classical guitarists in the world.
People that are listening to this, like I just have just done by accident. This fellow is not very good with his strumming technique (rasqueado). Trust me on this. He is a Pepe Romero groupie. Go to a flamenco website, don't listen to a bad classical guitarist like this young kid. More to follow.... I promise
Clear video, good close up of what you are doing! This will be a big help! Any cool chord patters that will sound good with these, would be appreciated!
I want more.

Your right. He also played all the classical pieces in the blues film "crossroads" which has got some immense guitar solo's in it.
