LOL! I forgot that tooth video was still on here!! Ba-ha-ha! I found you merely surfing my favorite subject (Down) and I was extremely impressed with your video. In fact, mind if I put it on my son's fb wall? We live in Colorado, how about y'all?
Charity is perfect, what a doll. My son has Down, and has made my world, our world, a greater place! You can see him at Facebook fan page: "Eye on Isaac, Genetically Enhanced w/ Down Syndrome." again you have an incredible daughter and great video!! :)
@HeatherandChris7 Thank you. How did you find us? We feel very blessed to have a child with Down Syndrome in addition to all of our children. I just watched your son's? tooth getting pulled out by a truck. That was awesome!
@HeatherandChris7 Unfortunately, the world sees people like your son as drains on society, when that very same society files friviulous lawsuits, treats career criminals as if they deserve to be spared from the death penalty, and treats children as if they are property.
Charity-Grace is very beautiful. This is the same person as aspie101 because youtube sold-out to google. People like her remind the world about what really matters. The world is too obessessed with sex and materialism, but people like Charity-Grace remind people that love is not about sex, money, or current trends.
Unfortunately, society cannot tolerate difference. That is why the media sensationalizes the "disabled" as parasitic burdens on society that must be rid of by any means neccessary. No child is perfect, yet society still wants perfect children. Children are people in their own right, which society never seems to respect. Your daughter is beautiful is angelic, yet in the eyes of the adulterated mainstream society, she is a disgusting leech who sucks money out of their pockets.
@aspie101 Possibly some have this viewpoint. But, they are just ignorant & that's ok cause aren't we all ignorant until we are aware. My suggestion is that people aware just need to keep sharing. Time will tell, more of society will see capable people with DS.
@susanmamajca I think that society already sees the potential for the "disabled." Many companies hire "disabled" employees because their abilities are more profound than their "normal" counterparts.
@aspie101 continued... As they get more opportunities to be mainstreamed & w/ better medicine their needs are being met, society will start to see people w/ DS in their neighborhoods, schools, & work. Then, they'll be aware that it really is not that big of a deal. Afterall, animals, certain races, elderly/ children can all appear to some to be drains on society. Bottom line is finances don't determine worth. The greatest wisdom received is most often given by considered least in society.
@susanmamajca It is simply a myth that Down's children are a drain on their families and society. The real parasites on society are corrupt politicans and lawyers as well as lazy people who like to sue for everything just for money.
@susanmamajca It is also sad that society sees children as property, like pets and livestock. By that, I mean that society thinks that it is alright to pick and choose its children's traits. It's not natural, and it will haunt society later.
@susanmamajca It may be a combination of both. I am a writer whose subject matter is disability rights because no one else covers it. The elitists in the government and the media considers it to be a beucuat concept and they are the same corrupt people who consider the "disabled" to be drains on society when they only need to look in a mirror to see the face of a social parasite.
@susanmamajca Unfortunately, the medical establishment still portrays special needs children as burdens that would be better if they were born dead. They do not spend the time with them the way that you and I have, so their outdated mentality is nullified, but society is not much better.
@susanmamajca We should, unfortunately, it will take much more than just words to change society's material, hedonistic nature. I had a dream in which my family and I were rebels hiding in the mountains and hills during the middle of a hot summer. We were going to get groceries from a small, abandoned town. What shocked me was that I had a wife, who was in my high school as a special ed. student. Like Charity, she was a beautiful down's girl.
