This is a very philosophical song he sings with such panache I first heard it as a young boy in the 60 s and I did not know the name of singer I come from a farming background in Ireland never even seen a cotton plant but this song is hauntingly beautiful the smile on Brook Denton's face is priceless great to be able to see and hear this again
lets face it, eddie cochran, elvis and many more covered this mans stuff, but no-one can touch him .....smoooth cool suave we love ya Brook, no one sings a song like you

He's a great singer but this is a black man singing about cotton, stereotype upon stereotype & what's with that hick music endlessly looping behind him.
cute funny song with a talented artist--so innocent, pure, sweet in those days---WOW!!
I remember this when it came out!!!

You said it right: "no-one can touch him". One of the absolute all-time greats. So little live footage of him around, it seems. What a shame.

It's a great song and perfect for Mr. Benton's voice.
Eddie Cochran did a nice version; but it doesn't touch Brook's.
-- And his sudio version is even better.

How come the family don't invest in a web site? There are many fans who would love to see something on line. Myspace anything. Love Brook.

Don't know, but Brook probably wouldn't want us to use his fame for money
