Aina was the standout musical melodrama during a stay in Karachi in 1967, and 'Tumhi ho Mehboob mere...' was the hit tune wailing from every radio. I still have the yellow plastic 45 rpm record, though the tune is engraved on my brain. Ahhh, Pakistan...
Goes to prove that Pakistan has the best singers even to this day, so natural & perfect. Indian film industry have always used Pakistani talent because they can never or have never produced singers such as these.....
wow such a beauty you dont need exotic locations to express your love. and sucha chance to see the beauty of eyebrows rather than the vanishing ones these days. with due respects to young and old ladies thes days spending a fortune on beauty treatments.
Urdu-Hindi culture was a nice aristocratic culture why they destroyed it, Mohameed ali and Debba ware Greater stars--, lovely song with lovely voice ---great time of great Pakistan.
@fahad100 - Urdu (not Hindi) speaking culture or otherwise known as Mahajir culture had its own vices and sets of problems. Beverly Nichols wrote in his book Verdict on India that he found the highest concentration of misery in India (this is pre-partition). He had spent time in central India which was the home of the so called Urdu culture. It was destroyed because it did not fit with the rest of Pakistan's culture especially punjabi culture. Don't shed tears, that culture is better dead.
Very good to know that Deeba is alive and fine. The other day I also saw an interview of Zeba Ji (wife of Mohammad Ali).
I think I saw them together in a film "Riwaj", a long time ago in which Deeba sang the song "Jo Hona Tha, woh Ho Bhi Chuka, Ab kayoon aansoo baha pagli". ( Not sure if the lyrics were exactly the same). Deeba was a good film actress at one time. Then, slowly slowly, the film industry deteriorated.
Deeba was the heroin of this movie. She is mashaAllah healthy and fine. Sometimes she is acting in TV serials. U may have seen her in BOOTA FROM TOBA TEK SINGH.... her smile was known as MOnalisa smile in those days
If i m not forgetting, Deeba fells down after this song and dies.. very beautiful Movie old "AINA". May Almight Allah Bless soul of our beloved Mohammad Ali in heaven.. Ameen

Irene Parveen also sang this song on my cousins wedding in 1985 in Manchester, UK. The "Ting" in the music was very popular in Pakistan in 1970's
