Guard cancel seems a bit... cheap since it is going to be easy to infinite combo then.

If you have infinite mana, sure. There's nothing cheap about it considering it's like the second hardest thing to do.

If you ever tried spell cancelling in Tales of Symphonia/Abyss then you would know this is quite easily spammable.

There's a skill that allows you to regenerate TP while comboing. You'd have infinite mana if you just looped this.

Canceling seems to cancel out Combo voltage; look at Yuri's TP, it's not increasing

Or equip a risky ring = All Artes cost 1TP, but defence and resistance are dropped by like 50% if not more lol

Damn this is just like Spell cancel, only with skills. This can lead to the most creative combos if you do it well.

I found out that by accident, but I never found a practical use for it. Didn't ever think about Guard Cancelling into more attacks.
