A great, great charcter, warm, unassuming, funny and incredibly talented. To this day he is still the finest Dr Who and that is saying something. Jon Pertwee RIP, you will never be forgotten.
Fastinating. Imagine if Worzel Gummidge was a series done by BBC or Thames Television. If you think about I don't think either of those companies would have suited this particular show. Maybe Southern Television does feel right.
Love him so much! And I'm gutted that I was only 4 when he died; so I never had a chance to meet him. I try not to play favourites with the Doctor, but if I had to pick a favourite classic Doctor, it would easily be him. :)
Mathematically Speaking, although Tom had a Record High Figure for City of Death (Mostly due to ITV being down in many parts of the UK), Jon's Era was the most Successful. He had a stable audience of around 10.1 Million & is concidered to be Dr Who's Peek. It Certainly got the most Money for budget. And it's easy to see why it was so popular with Jon as the Doctor. I Met him several times & always had the time to answer your questions.
A True Gentleman & a Natural Hero. RIP Jon Pertwee
WIsh I could meet him. Would go up and give him a big hug and thank him for all the lovely times he gave me in my childhood as doctor who and spotty from superted.
a very down-to-earth person and a talented actor!-possibaly NOT the 'best' doctor who(i think its tom baker)but a human being whome entertainment and we all miss dearly(rip)
@kenpoman100 not true... in a poll now its David Tennant, but however out of the old docs my fav is Pat troughton and Peter Davison surely its personal choice????
a lovely man,and the best doctor who ever.i had the pleasure of meeting him at a book signing in the 70s while he was still the doctor.and i went to see him in this very stage show at wimbledon in 1989 that he mentions on the wogan show.jon pertwee was a wonderfully talented man.
He did indeed. He'd be 90 this Year if he were still around, butv he'd very possibly still be acting, after all Christopher Lee is now in his Mid-80's but he hasn't stopped. Goes to show that so long as you look after yourself, you can age well and keep going doing what you love to do.
im happy to say i met jon pertwee in a sci fi shop once.....sadly i was only 1 years old at the time! haha. mum and dad say he put on his wersal gummage voice and started talking to me! :D
christopher lees done great aswell! still playing those sinister characters and what a great voice for it!
what a great interview and a great bloke pertwee was- look at the gratitude in his face at the end with all the applause- an absolute genius and legend and true one off-
