Nickelodeon and Disney channel in the uk / USA in the 80's and 90's are always better then the stuff they have on now , all I know is nickelodeon brought back some shows allthat clarissa explains it all kenan&kel Doug 10 million original fans want to re live their child hood
All I can say to the UK is that I'm sorry that The Disney Channel has gone to Hell on your end of the pond, as well... It's (obviously) just as bad today in The States, as well. I'm too embarrassed to even mention the shows... But, you all know which ones I'm mean... God... Whatever happened to the magic of Disney filling your living room?
@ragebug44 NO you have to subscribe to Sky Kids Mix to get DCUK and Disney Cinemagic(they're NOT free at all) on Skydigital. PS if you subscribe to Sky HD mix you also get the HD version of Disney Cinemagic.
If I ran Disney Channel UK, it would still be like it was then, but without frequent episodes of HSM the TV series and Hannah Montana;maybe just one or two episodes a day but still mixing this with other Disney cartoons and films and Touchstone/Buena Vista series and a nightly delve into the RKO library of films with a classic before closedown at midnight.
This was the period when Disney Channel UK was brilliant;plenty of great Disney cartoons and films with a smattering of Touchstone/Buena Vista films and series plus a bit of classic RKO too!
That Disney Channel logo{seen at 0:19}was the logo for "The Disney Channel" until 1997. At that same time, the "The" word of "The Disney Channel" was dropped and was either "Disney Channel" or simply "Disney". The current logo came out in 2003, and has used at least three different variants.
that show sucks so bad wot are u on about, this was the real disney, now its just loads of gay comedy shows, its all slapstick like SLOZAC and Hannah montana - HSM etc. disney lost its way and now all our kids are watching this garbage. we had movies at 7 every night and mountains of shows, all i see now is like a whole weekend of a single show, no VARIETY !
Being that I'm fifteen, I got to see the tail end of the Golden Age of the Disney Channel before it was overrun with mediocre over-actors and oppressively horrible "comedies." It was actually good. Now, as I watch it with my little sisters, I'm almost disgusted at the dearth of variety and quality of content.
Thanks for uploading. I remember the combo deal with Sky Movies package and Disney Channel!! I think that stopped around 1999 when Disney became subscription only.
Ayone got any clips from "Teen Angel" or "Honey I Shrunk the Kids - the TV show" broadcast around this time?
Actually, please let me correct myself there on the last comment. The song I was thinking about was "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper, not "True Colours". Sorry for the inconvienience. I *hate* it when I get song titles mixed up! XD
Bloody hell! "Beauty & the Beast" being shown on Easter Sunday 1996, knowing how recent the film was back then I bet that got a lot of excited viewers indeed! XD Was that the UK TV premire or something? I'm interested now.
Yet again, great Disney Channel vid. Lovely Disney Channel subscription promo too. Is the song in the background a new instrumental version of "True Colours" by Cyndi Lauper? It's sounds very similar!
I remember the Disney Channel ident ears appearing with a ring of sparklers for one ear then another ring of sparklers for the other ear then the head and the whole thing moves into the centre with The Disney Channel appearing and the familiar do do do orchestral jingle. Does anyone remember that?
Here in Italy we'd Disney Channel in 1998, and not from 1995, but I noticed that in 1995-1996, was really different to the 1997-2002 era, when was really awesome, but now is really all garbage Disney.. Thanks so much for the videos anyways ;)

If you watch Comedy Central late at night, a Girls Gone Wild infomercial repeats for hours.
