  • Nick is such a professional. Uplifter is a great album, a lot of emotion and melodies.

  • You guys are crazy all of their albums are great...Yes Uplifter has more slow, mellow trippy songs, and that is bad...Two Drops in the Ocean, Daisy Cutter, Never Ending Summer are excellent songs...Maybe you guys are tone deaf ?

  • I'm excited to see what this upcoming album will be like coming summer 2011. hopefully it's more like the old stuff. But even if it's not, 311 never can go wrong, cause they are the shit and always will be!

  • he ruined metallica

    he ruined our lady peace

    hes gay.

  • @sitstandnow ruined the offspring as well

  • Uplifter wasn't bad at all, in fact i greatly loved it, can't wait for their next album

  • I know a ton of people are going to disagree with me, but bob rock was one of the main things that destroyed Metallica.

He isn't a terrible producer, but he really messed up with the Metallica albums he produced (The Black Album-St. Anger). However, The Black Album DID have "Enter Sandman" which is one of their best songs.

  • Some of the records?

    I wonder what records??

  • i think they should put out a etsd 3

    thumbs up if you agree?

  • Uplifter is a great album. Bob didn't change shit. 311 still wrote all the songs. They were just looking for a different perspective and to me it was a complete success. The songs aren't as intricate as other albums but the melodies are top notch. For me, it's the best album since "Blue" and "Transistor" era.

  • Boo these people!!!

  • Is uplifter a good record? I love 311 but I was alittle disappointed in Dont Tread on Me. I love every other record they made though. Is Uplifter worth picking up?

  • Uplifter is a definate step-up from DTOM. I recommend it. It quickly became a fav for me. The music is top notch, the lyrics are a little so-so for some of the more hardcore fans, but it's a solid ablum and so worth it. IMO

  • @timespinster I agree, musically it's a great album, lyric wise, especially if you are the type that likes the DEEP, tripped out lyrics from music / grassroots / blue / transistor you will be a little disappointed.

  • @ancestron very well written def a come back album..

  • @ancestron should'nt even have to ask that question...yes.

  • yes, this new album is alot slower, and really nothing like music and grassroots or the others.. but when I saw them play most of this album live, the music to the songs was really good. the lyrics were so so.. but I am a fan of scotch as their producer...

  • @cyroth obviously you know a good bit about 311 when you mention Scotch .ever since he left the band wasnt the same which basically is after From Chaos album. they need to make a grassroots style album or anything from music-From Chaos

  • Bob Rock sucks. Also at 0:53 he says he really like SOME of the records they made, Nick is like what??

  • @eatpineapples1 Lol I also noticed that, Nick shot him a look

  • in my opinion bob changed 311 a ton and to me not in a good way. if you play the music album then soundsystem then uplifter the music changes greatly and all of it is good untill this album. sorry but 311 is the best band and for their next album i think they should loose bob rock...

  • But compare Uplifter to Don't Tread on Me. It went from watered down demos (as P-Nut called it) to some good solid sounding songs. I'm not saying that I disagree that they should lose Bob, but listen to the difference there.

  • i agree bob rock is not good every album he has produced in the last 15 years is sub par at best really he is only famous for producing the black album by metallica

  • @turbomaxmm86 Keep in mind he did the same to Metallica and it wasn't really for the best either....

  • @turbomaxmm86 If you want the same sound on every album buy some AC/DC discs.

  • "now its more tribal"

  • bob rock totally influenced this album. just listen to the metallica style riffing in never ending summer

  • i would love to see scotch back in the mix..

  • Bob Rock looks bored. He fucked 311 on this album.

  • nick is pretty hot

his married to my favorite singer =D

  • What about him physically is so sexy?

  • i thought his wife was a painter haha

  • @311FIREfighter she is

  • I understand what nick is talking about exactly, and i agree UPLITER if def a step forward !

  • i would love to ask bob what it feels like working with a drummer with talent...hes used to working with that overpaid amateur...i imagine working with chad was enlightening for him...like..wow your skill level is actually beyond what a weeks worth of lessons could do for a 12 year old?!?!?!..lol...i actually like this album alot..props bob...fuck lars

  • Looooooooooooooooooooooser

  • Interviewer sucks

  • ass clown.

  • agree, i'll be jammin to some soundsystem

  • i like how you chose the album with the worst production in the catalog. it's good, but come on. he did NOT fuck up 311. Uplifter is leaps and bounds better than their last two efforts.

  • They all have their duds and their gems.

There are some great tracks and every album, but there are also some that make me scratch my head...

  • I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. Evolver was badass. DTOM wasn't bad. The only people that call it a complete failure are the ones that follow the trends. I follow 311, period. I love all the music. Each record has something different to offer, which is a sign of a great band.

  • if you don't like Uplifter, don't blame Bob Rock. he didn't write the fucking songs.

  • lissen to the words in hey you.

"youve changed your tune many time since we have met.but ill always recognise you you are part of me."

what the hell do you think they are saying , i think its yes we are 311 and every cd we have ever made has been differant from the last "we changed out tune" but all the true fans have recognised this many years ago and will allways feel the 311 vibe in all there music.

  • @ITrustedDirtyDiaper thank you. i'm sick of people using bob rock as a scapegoat, first with metallica and now with 311.

  • He took part of it. A producer is supposed to help fix its shittyniss. instead he added corn to the shit.

  • @coolconfuzer LMFAO

  • hahaha...i know what you meen man...bob rock is notrorious for fucking up bands....do you really think the album is a total failure??...there are some weak songs but i think there also some amazing songs

  • I like India Ink and Jackpot. That's about it.

  • Cool, it seems that the level their at is difficult and very more experamental. they look very tired from putting a lot of effort into their new album. But all as well they seem to found there sound what their were looking for. Agree with hexum, the rock part of 311 is what is the best. the reggea part is always beautifuly there. the rock part sound so hive, like a sworm of beez. verycool! bob rock good work! You didnt fail us real 311 old school and now new school us.keep up the good work.!

  • Intertesting.

  • does nick seem distant or is it just me :s

  • Nope, just you

  • Hes 39..old fucker

  • For being 38 years old, Nick's looking great. No homo.

  • Agreed. No homo

  • shweeet

  • I'm a huge 311 and Nick Hexum fan.

  • Nice. I saw Nick Twitter about this.
