@DanteSpinotti1 The original HEAT 1989 is much better , btw the real name of the original one is L.A. Takedown ( 1989) but the fame of the great actors of this crab is the only thing to be noticed not the whole movie
@wildchildpr The whole video is done to "Ready Steady Go" by Paul Oakenfold. The version in Collateral is a "Korean" remix of it, but it's basically the same, minus the intro.
Thanks! Like I said before, I dislike the romance subplots of the film. I understand that they're vital to the film's theme, but it just took up too much time and really stunted the film's pace. This is one of those movies where it's like I SHOULD have loved it (considering Pacino and De Niro are two of my favorite actors), but it ended up disappointing me.
I think I've heard it referred to as the "armoured van" scene, but I can't find the clip on YouTube. Anyway, you can see the whole scene here: /watch?v=PDtqY5XfhyY&feature=channel_page
Sorry for the bad language but you took an intense scene from the movie, added my favorite electronic artist to the mix & edited it to where it looked like an official music video.
I really like this film alot although you're right when you say it's overrated but it's better then alot of other crime dramas.
Heck, the director who also did Collateral hasn't really done as many good movies. I liked Miami Vice & Public Enemies but they're nothing compared to HEAT
I actually LOVE Collateral (it's one of my favorite movies). The thing that bothers me about Mann's movies are that they put to much focus on the romance subplots. "Collateral" didn't have some whiny broad to stunt the flow of the story. While I like Heat's premise, it spend way too much time on romance (FOUR love subplots, you're kidding me!!). You can humanize a guy without the inclusion of a woman (ie: Collateral's Vincent).
Oh no, I rant all the time even when I know so you're not alone.
But yeah, Mann's films are somewhat challenging at times & he kinda makes his messages in his movies nonverbal & visual thus the viewer has to be paying attention which can be hard when the movie is 3 hours long. Public Enemies was okay for the action & acting but the romance subplot in that was worst then HEAT because it was focused on heavily & at the end of the movie I still didn't know much of anything about John Dillinger
Sorry for replying so late, but thanks for the input! I agree that he does portray interesting messages, especially for the crime genre, and I think it got across well in HEAT; it just wasn't my thing, however. I think I'm going to go back and watch some of his older films ("The Insider," definitely).
He's done other movies that are great like Thief (1981), Last of the Mohicans, Ali & The Insider which all rock!
Collateral & HEAT are his best. I'll admit the romance is bothersome on repeat viewings & it's overlong as a whole but I liked the coffee shop scene, acting & action at the end so. . . Collateral's not too original but I've watched it more times then HEAT due to it being not as long.
I didn't like the Miami Vice on 1st view but it gets better on repeat viewings
That suprises me. I actually like Heat for that very reason; it separates it from other heist flicks (that and everything else that makes it so bad ass), where as Collateral was flat and forgettable to me.
Anyway, I liked your (what amounted to me as a) music video. Very cool.
As I said before, I liked the concept of exposing the psychological side-effects of crime, but I felt that there was a better way to do that than including three love plotlines (although, I'm just not a romance person admittedly). Personally, I feel that Collateral had a lot to offer in terms of character development, conflicting morality, and social philosophy, which is what intrigued me.
i think both of them are dealing with facing 2 different characters and heat is slightly better imo showing a duel between neil and vincent, but anways i consider collateral a masterpiece that mann must beat in near future caus PE was good but not remarkable as the previous movies.
Search 'Sony's Virtual Insanity keygen', then download latest trial of Sony Vegas Pro and you're good to go. No more trial expiration.

The Insider, I felt was overrated but it is a good movie.
It drags in some scenes but Al Pacino & Russell Crowe are both great actors
