All you losers take fsx way to seriously it's just a fucking game. If you think you know shit about flying because you play fsx, then your a fucking retard. Why don't you go to a real flight school for three years and gain real flight hours like I did and obtain all certificates. Then come back and comment about flying a Cessna, I guarantee your answer won't be the same because you actually have knowledge about flying a real aircraft. Don't act like you know it all because you play fsx. Dumb as
Nice video. What ever happened with the copyright infringements against Carenado about the C172? I remember reading they copied a lot of the airfoil and guage codes from freeware on AVSIM a while back.
Nice, but I think Carenado should have at least offered a version with Autopilot... I really love handflying but I'd never buy this one because it lacks the autopilot.
@luci66 So don't buy it, that's why piracy exists, heh. Anyway I certainly agree that the autopilot is sorely missed in this aircraft (which is awesome btw)
Yes, it is very close to how a real 172 flies. Spins are not very accurate, most planes in FS9 or FSX won't spin properly, but I believe that is more to do with limitations in MSFS rather than the aircraft model.
Yeah, I always knew you were never going to get a proper spin in either simulator. I was just looking for a plane to have with proper dynamics so I can use it to fly and practice on here as I would out in the real world.
If you look at the left door, look along the bit nearest the panel. There is a thing that looks like a torch looking down at the instruments. Just under that, there is the switch for the panel lights.
Its shown in this video at 0:48 just at the left edge of the video. :)
There is no autopilot on this model. In the real world very few 172's would have autopilot. And this plane is modeling an older version which is mainly steam gauges.
Excellent video....i have this baby and think shes awesome...However,I am a little sceptic as to the engine sounds...Are they realistic??
With ref to your lights...have you tried the Shockwave 3d lights...a payware add on but an almost must have...really brings your lights to life...plus users post settings so you can integrate them into any plane replacing the default ones...
I've got quite a bit of real time is 172's and the running engine sounds are fairly accurate. Most all models I've run across are not very realistic in terms of startup sounds though. But the running engine sound is not far off. And yes, I've used Shockwave in the past, but I had problems with it on a few larger planes. I had the first version and have been considering buying the 2nd release since it extends to other lighting effects.
yeah i got some real time on a 172 myself also...check out my channel for my 1st flight with a 172....5 stars, great video..and subscribed :D i like the 727 videos too!

what scenery is this
Mr7165 10 months ago
@Mr7165 Its the default FSX scenery, the only add-on is the plane which is from Carenado.

@Mr7165 I think you may just be confused that the mesh settings are probably higher giving the mountrains a better look

Did anybody notice that he's getting over 1000 FPM at 6000 MSL. Not possible in a 172.

The Carenado's plane's are pretty and everything, but how are the flight dynamics? Are they true to a real world 172?

Shift+L for panel lights

Yes Correct.
It's kinda funny with all the c172's i have been trained in, none ever had auto pilot, but then the one C152 i flew did.

Where is this at?

I added a link to Carenado's site in the video description. Just click the more info to expand that section to see the link.

Normally when you're at the runway, your engine(s) are already running.
