  • Christian or Atheist, you must realize how amazing this man is.

  • I'm almost glad I haven't met him in person. No stupid little words I could muster would come close to encapsulating how I feel about his music. I would end up just looking stupid.

  • I honestly believe that if I got the chance to sit him down and tell him how much I admire him and his music, my life would be complete.

  • I feel like this should be submitted to "Beautiful Agony."

  • likey david!!

  • great tune David !

    keep em coming

  • seeing him tonight in ottawa can fucking wait

  • What this man is saying is.. devastating.

  • This song is definitely not about his divorce with God. Control was a concept album and it told a story. If you listen closely for everything within that album you can visualize the story pretty well. I find I don't even see Bazan as the main character. Also. I'm agnostic but I do not agree with the bashing of religion and all the slander and whatnot. No one can be sure if God exists or not or what context he exists in. No one should pretend to know. Faith is a good and powerful thing tho

  • @ruecks I'm with you. I don't even remotely get the divorce with God people are speaking of. And the lyrics kind of contradict the tone of the song. It's really a rather touching and beautiful song. And again, you're also right. Who cares if God is real or not. If the idea of him helps some people get through the day, and sleep at night, that's as real as anyone could ask him to be.

  • Eduardo lesen

    is Brasil Brasil

  • really what does his fucking religion have to do with anything? just listen to the music and fucking like it. what is this 1756?

  • you go bazan!

  • the song is about him and his divorcement with God.

  • No, it isn't. Control is a concept album about a nuclear family that falls apart. Besides, he wrote all these songs before becoming an agnostic.

  • you are correct, control was pre agnostic. who knows though, maybe on a sub conscious level it was foreshadowing something he wasn't ready to face in his psyche... the whole walking barefoot on the beach thing really does have christian god and human communion symbolism in it. it could be applicable to a god divorce also.

  • Maybe, but that's unsubstantiated. Who knows, though--maybe David would agree with you.

  • if i see him, i am going to ask him! haha... he's such an approachable guy.

  • What's the name of this song?

  • Options.

It's by Pedro the Lion on the album "Control"

  • Thank you very much :)

  • exciting!

  • It's amazing how this man is just as good (if not better) live, as he is professionally recorded. I think that's an important quality for a really really good musician. Because it's real, it's not fake and digitized like most mainstream music these days.

  • I was just at the house show in Eugene, Oregon.

  • The Best!

  • saw david live at a house show the other night. he is amazing. got to shake his hand, speak with him and take a picture

  • great wedding song

  • just learned to play this on guitar ... the first song i really learned ... pretty easy .

  • Why do I sincerely doubt that? Either you learned it wrong, or it isn't the first song you learned.

  • such an amazing song.

  • One of the best artist of all times. Got to see him at Cornerstone the last year he was there. That show changed my life.

  • Love this song. I would love to shake David's hand someday.

  • I can't wait for the DVD!!

One Of The Best Shows I've EVER BEEN TOO!!

  • How I wish I could meet this man and tell him how brilliant his songs are.

  • @skatetolive85 Live in seattle and you can. I've randomly ran into bazan several times?

  • @dasparks2004 Mhm, I've seen him a time or two. Same with Say Hi.

  • @skatetolive85 did that. he's amazing.

  • @skatetolive85 I have.

  • @skatetolive85 How I wish that when I met him, I'd known his music well enough to truly tell him that.

  • haha, I went to harmonize with him on "and the seagulls overhead" and he sang in the harmonized key I was going for anyway!

  • One of my favorite songs ever!
