  • Excellent !! I love Bob and his music. This touchs the heart.

  • This got added to my play list for the awesome music! Rock on!

  • Music is colorblind... and the universal language.

  • Rock on girl, we love Seger Too!

  • Im still running against the wind.....

  • WoW! the black and white pic is beaut... we can win against the wind . God Bless

  • WoW! the black and white pic is beautiful

  • Classic song, and great pictures. I would really like to know more about the story behind the video. We all run against the wind now and then.

  • kool stuff....

  • Excellent choice of music my friend!! There isn't no Black or White, it is tanned brown or off white(Me). Live life everyone please all be happy, life is short, really it is, Love all the nice folk around you, and forgive the bad. Anyone else, live and learn!!!

  • see the real problem is that if a white person listens to rap hes fake and if a black person listens to "white music" its ok? And just FYI to all the "brothers" the best rapper out there is, and has been for some time, white.

  • @l3etterlife Yup EMINEM

  • I love the montage of photos you put together for this song. Now whenever I look at old photos of myself I hear "Against the Wind" playing in my mind. "Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then" HA! So true...Thanks for this song.

    Eric

  • I am black also and I've been a fan for many years. I love his voice! It doesn't matter to me what race he is, he's talented and I love and enjoy his music. Good music brings people together as we're all commenting on an amazing talent and beautiful song.

Disregard the racist comments and enjoy the music!

  • Damn! Who are the asses with the racist drivel today. Trailer trash. Girl, keep on keeping on and God bless.

  • Good on yer fella. Plagued with McDonalds here too but our government doesn't trust us with gun ;-)

  • Great tune - keeps me sane and describes my life to a tee. Being a middle aged white boy from Liverpool UK don't get the racist bit as that shit died many years ago over here - peace to all and keep runnin' against the wind.

  • @Biffothebear50 It dies a couple of years ago here, too. some people just live with their heads so far up their asses that they don't realize it yet. And some people just grew up in the South, where social change takes about 25 years longer to get to. Either way, most americans are not the people posting racist comments to youtube in their spare time. (we spend our free time eating copius amounts of mcdonalds and shooting large guns in the air, actually. duh.)

  • Superb!

  • wat a great song and why should there b racicsm these days how come we just cant get past that arent we all supose 2 b equal

  • @lucasblaw Because while maybe 65% of the black people are normal and decent enough, the other 35% + ruin it for the rest.

  • @BMac7773 I think u have those numbers backwards

  • @arielajoy122, i wonder who that young man is in this music video? is he a friend/relative of bob seeger? he's seems quite quarming. i wish i knew who he was.

  • @arielajoy122 i couldnt understand why anyone would be racist on this video, that is flat out wrong. Everyone is running against the wind white and black.

  • arielajoy122 i didnt really even think seger was going back in the early 70's.

  • I never knew what color he was, or still is., and I could care less. I just enjoyed the music. Shame on racists.

  • Recalling childhood friends in my country of origin: Honduras. Who fought and were thus missing due to many causes. Varied and violent, but they were the causes of them and they believed in them. I skeptical, not because I could not. And many died from them. I look to catch the dove of peace. I opposed the death they preached the charming, like the love snakes preached. This song is beautiful, but one bites the soul. I dedicate this song to my friends from school, those who left never to return

  • Ya know I don't know this guy from Adam....but...it's really cool him playing this great song and showing pictures of his childhood and a bit ofm his life. LOL I feel like I got to know a really cool guy. Thanks for sharing this Howie.

  • great tune, who is the young gentleman in the vid clip, I pray nothing bad happened to him. Love brothers and sisters , white, black, yellow, red, whatever we are all GODS children. I can just picture HIM in heaven saying quit fighting children just like we do to our kids.

  • Diggin' those headphones.

  • glad you love his music dear

  • Excellent song ! Enjoyed the vid.

  • I love Bob Seger and alot of oldies music. Just passing it along to others out there u can watch all the classic music videos 24/7 on defSpot com . Not trying to spam or anything just letting those interested in good music and remembering the time

  • Thanks for posting this song....

  • love you Bob

  • what inspired such a great and poignant song? God Bless Bob Seger. I love his music. This just one of the ones i like. he is the true meaning of the word 'artist'.

I also love this version of the music video. These two couple seem like they are so happy and in love. Like the Late Great Michael Jackson said "if you wanna be my brother it don't matter if you're black or white!"

  • @justicevue Glad you like it and that you're not caught up in the racial stuff. I've loved this song my entire adult life. When i came across it a few years ago on this site, I just loved it and still do.

  • I am older than I would like to admit. I first heard this song when I met my then to be husband. We were crazy and free. This song epitamised our life and love. Years later he is gone and I still yern for those drifter days when we were running against the running against the wind I am older but without him I can't run. miss you babe xxxxxxx

  • @wwwsmoothwww ... that was the best thing i have read in a very long time.

  • black or white..........this shit is wack.

  • @lvngdead go fuck urself bob seger is the shit

  • I am white. Since I was a kid I loved James Brown. I cut school and went to the Uptown Theater in North Philly. North Philly was not predominantly black. It was totally black. I was the only white guy in line for a ticket. I couldn't believe that James Brown was right there in front of me. I was very young. Every woman there mothered me. Man. What a day. I don't know how to be black. So I just act white. North Philly burned to the ground after MLK. I was devastated. OK Call me some names.

  • @robbabub snul

  • @robbabub I'll call you some names..."cool guy".... "awesome guy"... "soulful guy"...good thinking to just be yourself.... when we whites try to be or act black, we just look stupid anyway...thanks for sharing your memory of that special day... I enjoyed hearing about it... This is a great song!!!

  • @fab4fan4ever64 god bless you sir/maa'm

  • I am a black man , age 31, living in the heart of Richmond, Va. I love classic rock. I also love classical, opera, rap, hip-hop, r&b, country, blue grass, gregorian chant, old-time gospel like mahalia jackson, shirley caesar, harmonizing four, gaithers, etc. Liking Bob Seger does not mean I am acting white. That is so ignorant. I wish people would see others as God sees us- His children. I'm sure God does not like us playing race games, He created us all in His image and after His likeness. peace

  • @mrlegal111 u got good taste. all love all those gospel people that you have listed. people underestimate how good gospel is.

  • Beautiful pics. They fit the song very much.

  • We are all his children, and we will answer to him for our hate. Jesus faced the cross for all of us. We all have sinned. Love your brother and let God be the judge.

  • If you think about it, racists that are willing to show their true colors are only validating for others who are ignorant about racism, that racism does indeed exist. It tells how far we have yet to go. So as unfortunate as it is, it provides us with a baraometer as we move forward into the future. When one human being cannot accept another human being for who they are, where does the shortcoming reside?

  • these are people black white red or green our blood is red and we all will die and if you judge a man then by what right do you judge because the only judge is god in the end and he is no respecter of persons . he made all life all colors even the rainbow . i think its time for the foolish to end as far as racism.

  • Bob Segar is not black. Look for some live performances on the right side of this page. But what difference does it make? He has a color-blind talent. I see with my eyes, but I hear with my ears, and I enjoy music with my heart and soul. To the black people who must endure racism, I want to say that those are the loud misfits. Most of the white people I know do not judge others by their skin color but by their actions. Please don't paint folks all with the same brush.

  • I have loved this video since it was first posted. I have loved this song my entire life. Would it surprise any of you that I am also an African American woman? I wonder how Bob Seger would feel about the racist comments that I've seen on this site from the very beginning. A sad commentary on race relations in this country.

  • May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

and rains fall soft upon your fields.

    And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

  • WOW!!! i didnt know bob seger was black!

  • Hello from Monterrey, México.... I am a 57 years "old man" and I spent a few years of my life traveling between Laredo, Texas and Chicago, Illinois............. And I love booth countries... and all the people, no matter the skin they have.... Sorry for who cares about that!!

  • Color , the biggest obstacle in our time , breaks down to Color , how sad are we as a RACE of intellectual beings " supposedly" thats the last greatest barrier isnt space , it isnt the Ocean , But it is the color of someones skin , you reap what you sew

  • Great song! It kind of breaks my heart that anyone made racist comments.

  • I guess the pictures are to show time passing by. I had the shirt shown at :40 .

  • when I was going up as a child, I was taught hatred .(being racist)..until in my 30s i ask myself what does it accomplish?now when I see black people I notice a few make all black people look bad. we are not born to hate but taught to hate. racist will always be with man kind. because we are born with sinful nature... peace to all.

  • Yeah coming from a white woman thtas sick, I grew up with a racist dad but my mon showed me the way as my dada was only around a couple months out of the year, so she was my saviour and blessing, I love everyone all nationalities and all races, I will not judge every, Stop the hate, please live smile laugh please get over it, so why do white people tan, go figure...lol

  • we'll said we elected a black man to office but yet we still got racist on youtube

  • Ihave more respect for bob s. for his amazing song writing capability,/singing cap. than most of our other artist's out there. He gives us a 'real' connection and insight into "our" world through his songs! God bless the great ones. Imagine life not being able to listen to these classics, and why we always seem to remember how much we like these songs when we do! stymieco salutes you all!!!

  • you are so right. I love Bob voice, and I love any black singer with a great voice. I am not prejudice against the color or ethnicity (sp) of a person, just prejudice about stupidity.

  • such a lovely song. wells my eyes. as it did years and years ago. May the Good Lord Bless us and Keep us all, during these tough times.

  • He not only has a great voice but he tells great stories about life that are timeless !

  • About a year ago I made a comment about how this song has meant so much

    to me.

This morning, I wanted to take time to

think about how far I've come, and Seger

speaks to me like no other artist.

Yesterday, I spent time with my wonderful

Granddaughters, and yes, I played Seger

    for them:)

    Grand Popi

  • howie, you and becky are very beautiful together.

  • @colabama you seem to know the story - I was listening to the song and looking at the pictures and felt sad thinking maybe the guy is no longer with us. But then I saw your comment - is this a memory song of two who have been long married? If so, God bless them both!

  • this song sounds old is this from 2002?

  • @shthd84 The song is from the late 1970's.....the album was entitled, "Against the Wind" by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullitt Band.

  • yeah, I was being sacrastic my bad

  • @shthd84 No it is from the 70's. LOL we used to get stoned and listen to this one.LOL...It was a wild time for us. Hope this helps.

  • i dont really know what happened with your relationship, but you are sad, im sorry for your hurt inside. cat

  • this song 50% of my personal life against the wind. and stlil going against wind. Why i guess i was bless with a young heart alway looking for a better way 0f life. After all these we just find out what life is all about . that is to serve humanity.

  • Just enjoy the song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • little richard was the first singer who inspired him too be a singer , motown also influenced him. music is for everyone it does not speak to just one person.

  • ...BOB sei un GRANDE...!!!!!

  • Good Man, Howie!

Whitebread Conservative geezer here. Grew up listening at night to WLAC in TN. Where Blues got played in fifties.

Pay no attention to the trolls. Almost ALL great Rock traces to the black churches and dance halls.

Watch "Great Balls of Fire". Jerry Lee, Mickey Gilley , Jimmy Swaggart.. listen to them and to this.. see the connection.

  • All music is the universal language of all mankind! it has nothing to do with race ,creed or whatever else! i love artist like bb king -george strait- madonna!

even darius rucker! aka hootie and the blowfish! listen to brad paisleys new tune! welcome to the future! god bless all!

  • Hey Howie, still love this after all these years. Have always loved the song. Just thought I'd check back in.

  • I like bob seger- I have since the early seventies and I am a black woman 55 yrs.. It really makes me sad some of the racist comments being made'please cant we get beyond all this- and just be happy. The world is so in need of love today! I pray that God will bless us all. Love Love Love!. Im still running against the wind even tho im older, still happening.

  • @arielajoy122 Good music transcends race, religion, and time. Until some people understand that, they'll always have hate in their hearts.

  • @arielajoy122 素晴らしい!

  • @arielajoy122 god bless you my dear.... with love from london :-)

  • @arielajoy122

Run against the wind no matter if your are black or white, young or old, just stil running against the wind til the end.

  • @arielajoy122 Love you sister keep the peace and love

  • @arielajoy122 Me too!

  • @arielajoy122 GOD BLESS KEEP YOUR FAITH LIVE LOVE AND LAUGH

  • @arielajoy122 to heck with the racism, it will just make you in deep relation with it. live your life to the fullest and do away with the noticing. ignore them instead, and to heck with the racists' they just have out of better thing to say. don't live your life like they do' its better to be alive with love than with hatred...!

  • @arielajoy122 ..All the love in the world to you, Sister...I'm a blonde, white girl, but I swear feel all things you do in my heart...Blessings to your life...

  • @arielajoy122 I'm 55 & Black too. I also saw Bob Seger back in 1976 while attending school @ Northern Michigan University. He was great . He even yell an acknowledgement out to me and the other brother for even being there. It was great. I'd started following Bob back in the 7th grade when he did 'Ramblin' Gamblin' Man'.

When Bob Seger belts out those songs, he's just flat out soulful. Sister you don't have to explain yourself to any of the attention deprived fools.

  • @RealMenDrinkCoffee Oh you are the BEST! I attended NMU and bunked at the West Hall Dorm. Missed a lot of classes so that we could play Live Bullet over and over again. Couldn't afford the ticket price but the Arena, if you remember, was directly across the road from West Hall. Me and my girlies sat outside and the music was just as sweet from across the street! Thank you for the memory!!!!

  • This is definitely the story of my life. Seger took the phrase, " I was livin' to run and runnin' to live" off a stall in a men's room of a hard core biker bar.

BTW - ignore all the comments posted by ignorant racist pigs, who apparently have nothing better to do with their time and probably couldn't tie their own shoes without help.

Bob Seger's music was meant for ALL to hear and enjoy. So, to all you racist pigs out there...shut the hell up and enjoy the music. :)

  • I found this video a couple of years ago. Have loved the song all my life. I'm African American and admired the fact that Howie chose this to be the "soundtrack" for his life. I'm amazed that all the racist stuff still goes on. My copy of this song is on an old tape, but I can pull it up here and enjoy it anytime.

  • What a beautiful song. It's a shame that there are those who could ruin it.

  • BTW, many of Seger's influences were black musicians

  • racist people are funny, not threatening, but funny

  • BTW Post all the emails and hate speech you want. I never read the thoughts of trash and idiots.

  • what!! if thats mike im tetoe lol

  • I think this is beautiful, and this has nothing to do with Micheal.Let that man RIP.Why do people feel the need to put down the dead?Is it because they know that person is dead and cant attack back?

  • Rock on Bob,,,,,Understand about taking time off for the kids. But having kids at 47? Glad it was you and not me. lol

Anyone know Bobs age today? early sixties? Rock ONNNNNNNNNNN!!!

  • Still love this after all these years....

  • ass rape

  • I am with You. Take care.

    Learn to forget...............

    The cliche is always true.

    Never let go.

    Herbert

  • It's about my wife and the guys I killed

for killing her. No mercy my friend.

I burned the pictures they gave me.

    I remember them with love.

    That's all we can do.

Live on mate. They want You to.

    You'll make it.

    Herbert,

    The Netherlands.

  • I recall when this video was first posted and all the negative things that were said about it. I'm glad it's still here. I love this song and love the way Howie made it the soundtrack of his life.

  • Very expressive, who is this person?

  • Michael Jackson should have stayed like this ,He might still be here.Lmao!

  • lmao whats goin on here?

  • this is a test . . I am trying to comment and it doesn't work.. help!!

  • looks like it worked.

  • The young man in the montage had a sweet, pensive energy. Observant and quiet, I felt he sees much, but says little. My favorite photo was with the creme wintercoat. Whoever this soul is, I wish him peace. Like all of us, he runs against the wind...

  • Great Video :)

  • still love this. thanks for posting. a fav song of mine.

  • They call me Spic

  • great video

  • HAHAHAHA LMAO, that caught me off guard.

So every one in the online world wonder does it matter what race I am black yellow red brown and white wow i'm am color.

  • Bob transcends race. Thank you for going to Iraq and saving my freedom on a daily basis... Had much more to say but ran out of space,,,

  • saving freedom? are you drunk or what?

  • Nice family video. Sorry to see all these hate messages. This is a beautiful song that can be enjoyed by all no matter what race or religion you are. Music has no boundaries.

  • Great video! Man Im sorry about all those comments...wow..Its cool you like Bob Seger! He is such a great song writer.

  • Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then...

  • They aren't '' niggers'' they are people just like me and you!

  • @leenie6000 Amen.

  • Great Song.

  • Not even close to everybody here is American.

  • I think :

Who thinks about Racism, when he sees a black colored man, is just a racist.

I just see a line of pictures of a man´s life.

    You should also.

    By This,

    Q.

  • different, but i can see it through. I feel your image, but only your eyes can tell what it truly means, whatever the story is and whatever bumps you have been through, keep your head above your shoulders, stay away from the shade and live up to see what the brighter side has to offer. Peace

  • be as small or as large as you want to be, it is up to you! Don't drag me down in the gutter of the racist assholes!

  • why is it that all the comments are on racism? this video doesnt say anything about racism.

  • because people are dumb and bored and like to fight online it gives them something to do I guess who knows why people do what they do.

  • ya i guess ur right

  • the vidio shows who this guy is, a guy who had a story to tell bout him and his lovely lady. Let me guess... they were runnin' against the wind. Question is did they make it? Hope so. Good song Sly

  • Yep....happy days. lol

  • Last time I asked about this, I got flamed as a racist pig, so let me try again:

Who is the _person_ in this video?

  • great song, great vid pics, took me back to the day! you rock, I consider myself to be of the earthling race. Mean people suck, please find compassion now, not on your death bed. you will find you will live a better quality of life. The world also becomes a bit better one person at a time.

  • Cant we all just get along? Music knows

no color, why are we so fixated on it?

    Peace

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!

  • i just went thru like 10 pages of people talking bed about racists and not a single racist comment, which begs the question, why are people still commenting on these other comments, i mean, by calling comeone a racist prick it wont stop them from being a racist prick, so just enjoy the music and stop getting caught up in this crap!

  • Okay. I'm white, my friend is black. And your point is? You know what, to hell with all this racist bull. WE ARE ALL EQUAL IN GOD'S EYES!

  • Comment removed

  • i'm stil runnin.....damn wind!

  • lol!!
