  • I have this record just got it today

  • This is so cool! The Storrow Drive traffic actually makes for a very interesting juxtaposition. It's hard to believe that recording is almost 100 years old!

  • Orgonetrail, Thank you for your kind words. It has occurred to me, as we make our way in this new century, that yes, many of these wonderful old records are now approaching their own century mark.

    Regards, J.

  • May 14, 2007 article from the Akron Beacon Journal says, H. Evan Williams b. 1867 OH d. 1918 OH (from blood poisoning). He's buried in East Akron Cemetery.

His two best-sellers -- Open the Gates of the Temple and A Perfect Day -- sold millions of copies.

  • GMaureen, Thank you yet again. I hope to re-record this one in better circumstances this summer.

    Regards, J.

  • THANK YOU WONDERFUL ,I LOVE THIS SONG.

  • Bearcub410, Thank you! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it!

    Regards, J.

  • Rest reassured, audio is still quite good; anyway nothing can beat the atmosphere of these lovely outdoors sessions, thank you!

  • Kspm01, That you for your kind words. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. You too are being far to generous! :-)

  • Thank-you so very much....this is a, "Perfect Posting", audio quality or not. It's a wonderful old song that brings with it wonderful memories.

    Anne.

  • Anne, Thank you-you are very generous. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

    Regards, J.

  • Hey my friend, do you think you would have been allowed to put it in the shell and then record it? Maybe it would have sounded clearer.

  • LosAngeleno1959, I would have loved to! These days it's fenced off when not in use. Next year if I can find an official I might ask. The summer before we taped a few up Dorchester Heights and we had a Nat'l Park Serv. ranger come over and check-up on what we were doing. He'd never seen a Victrola before, I think he wanted to make sure it wasn't something less benign. ;-) There is a large brick bandstand in my neighborhood I think I'll used it next summer. Thanks for watching!

    Regards, J.
