  • lol found a guy so says sli not s-l-i

  • Does this guy even KNOW what he is talking about? That is an HDMI port....which looks VASTLY different from a Displayport.

  • Its HDMI not Display Port!!!!!

  • I believe that's a HDMI port instead of a Display Port.

  • installation guides + manuals = fire wood

  • you sound like tom hanks

  • Its doesn't cost more. Just look at the new intel socket 2011. It has most of the features that I've been asking for and isn't going to cost $500+.

  • is the SSD upgradable later on?

  • @ITWillFL dont think u could buy an ssd that would fit even if it does come off would have to use sata

  • @99adgil I do believe that is a Mini PCI-E SSD so it should be upgradable

  • @ITWillFL According to Gigabyte's blog it's a mSATA, not PCI-E.

  • How to you guys keep affording these components? Advertising?

  • @secretxax1 they get review units....aka freebies

  • Technology is evolving at an infernal pace. Computer components are already obsolete one month after its launch, because others take their place in performance and innovation. Gigabyte Motherboard Z68XP-UD3-iSSD Unboxing is from another planet, did not know that they also produce such technological plants today ... I wish to have my computer equipped with such a beauty. In fact, I should have a new computer (tuned from another planet of course), under these conditions. Peace!

  • I am one who would like to see a board with all usb 3.0 ports and all sata 3 ports and no pci slots and no ps/2. Stop wasting my time and money with older technology. I'll paid the little extra price. I rarely use a dvd drive. I like running multiple raid setups on my system. That is my problem right now with my decision about the gigabyte g1 sniper board. I like the board but only 2 ports are sata III. I mean come on. $429 for a motherboard with only 2 sata 3 ports?

  • @poisonr ppl like you/us are a tiny percentage of who buy boards the only way to make board cheap is mass production if they only sell a thousand boards rather than 10 thousand that can as much as triple the prices they cost to make turning a 2 to 300 pound board into 600 pounds or more would you pay that for a motherboard? i doubt it

  • multi-langual? Lol.

  • It's actually 4 sata connectors. One right and one normal in each pack.

  • Hey, what's better the ASrock z68 Extreme4 ($190) or the Asus P8Z68-V ($120) or ASUS P8Z68-V PRO ($150) . i'm buying my parts tomorrow, so i would apreciate if someone could help me soon. thanks in advance

  • @kulpreetg Asrock is really bad. Don't buy that. The best in your choice is the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO.

  • @kulpreetg

Asrock extreme, its quite good board, don't let the name of the brand make you think its bad, if it was p8z68 delux it would be better but the -V series are lower quallity.

  • /watch?v=cOopFUq57v8 = WINDOWS 8 BETA - FIRST BOOT

  • open a "motherboards org cat tips" channel XD

  • Nice to see an SSD on the Motherboard ;) Like to see some tests :)

  • i see a pussy

  • That not display port it’s HDMI port

    Thanks L

  • Any word on the read/write speeds of said SSD?

  • That is awesome the SSD Built-In Love it... Will other MB would do the same? I hope so Like Asus I wish they do...

  • 20gb ok but thats not much u know =( why not 50(60gb) build in.. Thats would be sick! But 20gb build in is still a cool thing to habe :D

  • @ultragaming1993 it is not meant to be used standalone. it is possible but you will have very limited space. this ssd is there to be used with ssd caching with the z68 chipset.

  • @TheGamingDude23 k nice, so it can be used as cach hmm sound nice :)

  • Dam why gigabyte!!! Lol i got used to the black PCB mobos!!! I wonder how fast that internal SSD really is because on some netbooks its as slow as christmas lol

  • if not please give alternative .

  • would any one here recommend GIGABYTE Z68X-UD3P with i7 2600k ?

  • Great video, thanks guys!

  • ungly bord

  • @umarabid2 who cares how the board look look at the performance noob

  • @umarabid2 who cares how the board look look at the performance noob

  • @umarabid2 ugly face, nub.

  • ugly bord lol

  • wild

  • hope they make a ud7 version

  • Elric, At the back, the port with a plastic cover is a HDMI Port not DP. :)

  • Wow.

Gigabyte has some really great ideas.

And that expansion layout is just perfect.

crossfire and sli are possible even with those giant tripple-slot cards, or with dualslots you have great airflow for the cards. And whatever the case might be with your graphic cards, you still have 1 pcie1x left for a souncard or whatever.

Gigabyte-One of the few companies thinking :)

  • Hdmi not dp

  • i don't understand why they don't make all the pci-x16 at x16 , why 8x?

  • i think its basically just a cache drive

  • Wait, so is the SSD just for the OS? Or does it not appear as a normal drive? WHAT IS IT FOR XD

  • @skittlesaretasty I think you don't know about the advantages of having your OS boot from an SSD. For one it's more secure than a hard drive. But what makes this technology worth it is the speed. Using an SSD will significantly increase your PC's response time. A faster boot time would just be a small spec of it's advantages.

  • isn´t that a HDMI output?

  • very nice men

  • How many phases does it have? is it good for overclocking the i7 2600k? is it better than Z68X-UD4 ? thanks again for this great video, I hope to see you testing this board soon, I really like it!

  • @GolzeD2009

The GA-Z68X-UD4 as its great for OC'ing but make sure you get yourself a good cooling system (goes without saying). Also, unless you're going to be doing allot of editing or rendering the 2600k is pretty useless compared to the 2500k, it just costs more and only editing software actually uses the hyper-threading

  • @kamkazeepenguin Thank you, I don't want to buy this for my self, I was thinking of buying this board as a gift for someone. For me, I already have EVGA E770 w/ i7-980X & Asus Maximus IV Extreme w/ 2600k.

so this board is same as the Z68X-UD3 but with built in SSD? right? thank again!

  • what's with tech ppl and cats?

  • My Club3d HD5670 1GB GDDR5 didn't come with the crossfire bridge. :(

  • uh...Erlic,

The Blue SATA ports are 6gp/s.

The other 2 are SATA 2.

It even says it on that red sticker!

  • i dont know about you but 20gb is not enough for me

  • @siralexu its enough for install window 7 on that SSD.

  • @siralexu

You don't use it like a regular ssd. The board saves all your frequently used files and data to it and fetches it fast the next time you require them.

If you think 20GB is little, take a look at the momentus XT. It has only 4GB yet outperforms 10,000 RPM raptors in alot of tasks.

  • How to use the digital audio?

  • @Hokrollo1 i would like to know...

  • im waiting for socket lga 1154

  • install windows7 on that SSD and time the boot up, it would be interesting to watch

  • @BulgarianBoy92 i think windows 7 takes a little more more thank 30GB of space

  • @Nvidbeast the earliest windows 7 without any updates take 11gbs and my current windows 7 ultimate is 16.1gbs

  • @DBZisthebestanimever oh i thought it took up more space

  • @BulgarianBoy92 dont think u can and u wouldnt need to put all the OS on there the motherboard puts all the files u need on there by its self

  • @BulgarianBoy92 If it is possible then it'll be cool. But I think the SSD is only able to be used for Smart Response Technology.

  • *drool*

  • 5:41 you said that is a display port, infact it is a HDMI port.

  • @1986Chaitanya ... sue him!

  • lol at cat in background

  • What do you do with all these motherboards?!?!?!

  • nice

  • iv had the idea of on board SSD 6 month before :D

    watch?v=elXwcOEwK60

  • lol is that linus's cat :)))

  • @nicktheodorou9 Yea, and the man is Linus father :/

  • @nicktheodorou9 could elric be linus's father?

  • @nicktheodorou9 Maybe Elric is his father...or more likely his brother :D

  • @nicktheodorou9 where?

  • A STICKER= must buy

  • It's not a Display Port, it's HDMI

  • It is not a DisplayPort, it's an HDMI.

  • Pfft, 20gb you cant even put a OS on that little shit

  • @zenfreak96 yea ya can, puppy linux only need about 150mb

  • @zenfreak96 Windows 7 Home Premium takes up 16GB

  • @zenfreak96 Ubuntu takes 4.6GB.

  • @KreKeriS911 you are right if you're talking about version 11.04 unless there is a newer version out i forgot to check on. at least close...i read it takes 4 gigs flat. then again i haven't tried 11.04 yet. 10.04 lts only takes around 2 and a half gigs. cheers

  • @zenfreak96 It's for Intel's Smart Response Technology. It's supposed to be used as a caching device for hard drives in order to increase their speeds.

  • @Vortex1988 Yeah after the video i researched intel smart response technology a bit and now i understand, and wow thats pretty cool! and thx :)

  • @zenfreak96 Yeah, I have to wonder though if intel smart response would work in conjunction with RAID 0 or another SSD though. If not, RAID 0 is still a much better option.

  • @Vortex1988 for sure, im doin my first pc build soon, and im putting 2 western digital caviar black 1TB 7200RPM 64mb cache in raid 0

  • @zenfreak96 Yeah, I put together my first build back in 2008. I still have it, but it's been upgraded so much that the only original parts I still have are the ram and one of the dvd drives. I've got a couple of Western Digital Caviar Blacks in RAID 0 right now. They're pretty awesome. 500GB each with a 32mb cache.

  • Hey! The sticker does matter!!

  • "this right here, this right here, this right here" x9000

  • What is the deal with putting PCI Slots on killer motherboards with all things considering they are waste of space and will not be used. What happened to phasing out PCI Slots?

  • hahah ATI, i think they are trying to send a message to AMD about how dumb it was to change/remove the ATI name :) and im a Nvid fanboy

  • But will it blend?

  • There's no DisplayPort :) Its an HDMI port :)

  • is there any blue and black motherboards out there?

  • so you can put your OS and maybe one game on that thing. yay?

  • @krispwnsu I dont blame you for feeling that way. honestly i think it's just a way to enable customers to use the intel caching tech ( whatever it's called) without the end user having to physical deal with another ssd during the process. regardless I agree..20 gigs IS NOT realistically enough. 60gig is alittle more like it

  • supposed to use it to cache with

  • IS THAT A MAC PRO IN THE BACKROUND?!?!!? TRAITOR!!!!!!!!

  • @ChasingFlies omg chill. It's called BROADENING YOUR HORIZONS. he has a mac..so what. I have a macbook pro 17", custom built Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit desktop, and a custom built hardcore win 7 pro 64 bit gaming machine both that i built. I use all three fairly equally. Just depends on my needs at the moment. This way I stay sharp in all three realms, apple, windows, and Linux based. and dont tell me you were joking. you didn't put a " :D " or " :P " or " X-P" or anyting extremely coherent.

  • @chronofusion If you honestly thought that comment was serious............and I really don't care how many computers you have, what Linux distro you run or that you "stay sharp" on them, but I do care that you just made a total douche comment in reply to a joke. That's great that you love OSX, it still sucks.

  • @ChasingFlies total douche comment? REread your " traitor" comment which was in ALL CAPS WITHOUT funny facial gestures MORON. you're the troll making " douche bag" comments. You just can't stand the fact that I thoroughly called out your bs in every possible way without you having any room to bs yourself nor me and take by the stupidity you illustrated. Grow up kid. It's called common sense and stop trolling while you're at it

  • @chronofusion If you read that comment and thought I was honestly serious then this "common sense" you are talking about is obviosly not present within your mind. And yes, read it? I typed it, I know what it says.

  • @ChasingFlies since you apparently are too STUPID to read let me requote YOUR exact words DUMBASS. "IS THAT A MAC PRO IN THE BACKROUND?!?!!? TRAITOR!!!!!!!!"

again IT'S COMMON SENSE THAT YOU lack. you did NOT put any funny facial gestures in that comment to indicate you were joking..PEOPLE CANNOT SEE YOUR FACE ON HERE IN THE COMMENTS PART OF THIS VIDEO, MORON..AGAIN..YOU are the IDIOT here.you're welcome. ya lost, get over it, it's over, do no pass go or collect money, game over. you're done

  • @chronofusion I'm done? Haha what are you going to do? Hurt me? Who says i need a gay facial expression to set off that I am joking? "people cannot see your face" Yes, but it seems everyone but you could see the context I used.

  • ThatCatIsABaller

  • Hey Elric, what speakers are those behind you?

I've been looking for studio speakers like those lately.

    thanks

  • You be fine with one GTX 580 or dual GTX 570 or just go big GTX 590 or Radeon 6990 I have GTX 570 Ti I'm going to buy second one bc my gaming rig its hooked to 55inch LED 240hz 3D TV

  • @omac256 You won't really get much out of a second card with that set up to be fair. An extra card would make sense if you added extra displays running high resolutions. It doesn't really matter how large an HDTV gets either, the resolution is still going to be maxed out at 1920 x 1080 (unless it's one of those new stupidly expensive 4k displays or something lol). One way you could boost performance is getting a 260 or something as a dedicated PhysX card.

  • nice cat :D

  • studio looks nice must be using Logic

  • hey Elric, since games like Battlefield 3 and Skyrim are coming in november I've been saving for a new GPU so what would be the right video card to play these games in the max settings on a 30" monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1600?

  • @TekkSpekk Dual GTX 580's or Radeon 6970's, or check out a GTX 590 or Radeon 6990.

  • @TekkSpekk 590 is my pick, dual 580s may be a bit better.

  • @alexbeast14 dual 580s are much better since the 590 is two underclocked 580s and go pop when overclocked.

  • @ganonforce Yup

  • @TekkSpekk go for dual 580s make sure you buy the 3gig vram i would go for msi 580 lightning xtreme edition. Both the 590 and 6990 are a joke underclocked loud and bunch of other problems. So you know for BF3 you will need a good cpu with decent amount of cores on as it is cpu dependent. Another option is wait for the revision 2 590s if you are no rush to buy it yet.

  • @TekkSpekk If you plan on running 2 or more 30" displays then more VRAM is always helpful, otherwise getting a dual set up with 3GB of VRAM on each card as someone suggested is hugely overkill and a massive waste of money. A single 280 should do the trick, or if you really want to go all out, a single 590. SLI wouldn't really help out much unless one was a dedicated PhysX card (a 260 would do nicely there) or you're running a bunch of high res displays.

  • @TalesOfWar I would agree about the"overkill"part. However it depends on: the game, the eye candy settings, are both monitors being used similarly to Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround? rez? fps standards that you prefer? not saying you're wrong. Just things to think about. Speakin from 10 years of gaming pc building & testing experience. example- metro2033 at 2560x1600 rez, eye candy maxed on 2 or 3 24" monitors? yeah 2 gtx580's with 3gb vram needed for min 40 fps. Linus tech tips proved that

  • If only it were atleast a 120gb, then we could have a whole computer without hard drives.

  • Hey, what chipset is this?

  • @numex106 Z68.

  • @AaZ101112 welli gotta say... iWAS VERY close......... not even 1min difference and i have to say... youtube gotta work moer on up-to-date comments with NEW videos being uploaded

  • I. Want. One. Right. Now.

  • this will not work for me if the board dies so dies the SSD

  • @bornwisedistruction No it doesn't, unless you get some kind of power surge that fries the entire thing. It's just an mSATA drive. A lot of the 2.5" SSD's are actually mSATA inside a 2.5" enclosure. Intel do this I believe.

  • @TalesOfWar Interesting I did not know so i could just get a hold of a msata to sata enclosure or adapter and be good to go i thought it was built in did not pay close attn to the connector until after your response. its just that me and 2 in one products have had a very rocky relationship : (

  • 'All the good stuff' from linus

And the cat thingy from linus.

    I sense something fishy here.

  • @PirateKing1256 If you watch enough of his vids you would have seen kitty before now!

  • @PirateKing1256 in one of his tech tomorrow vids he said "alrighty" just like SKB lol but he is still amazing :)

  • nice of them to include this , makes it a little better for us.

  • It's Now $239.99 at NewEgg.

  • top comments, Fail!

  • damn! 20 gb of built in ssd is perfect!

  • One thing I hate about those SATA connections, is that they are sideways, I prefer them to be up from the board, so you don't have to bend your cables down to get them into the SATA port, if you have a tight space.

  • @CJCA915 The placement is kind of dependent on the case you're using really. A lot of newer cases have better cable routing and cut outs along the side of the board tray which makes them much more convenient in the layout they have on this (and most other newer) boards. I can see it being annoying with older cases, or just ones that simply lack these cut outs. If you're feeling adventurous you could modify the cables to fit two ports in one lol.

  • I want that board, but I doubt I have the cash.

  • but, does it blend?

  • @Mrcabllegoo13 Those Comments are getting boring!!! stop it

  • @FINGaming1 i just need to know, i want to things that are funny!

  • herp, herpedy derp derp, so what those 20gb for exactly? ssd/hdd cache?

  • @kamikazerus This new chipset supports a similar system that the Seagate Hybrid Momentus drives use, which uses an SSD as a super fast big ass cache for the HDD. It makes the SSD invisible to the file system, automatically works out the most commonly loaded files and stores them on the SSD. You could use it as a stand alone drive if you like too, just change it in the UEFI.

  • Why my favourite "unboxers" (sounds weird lol) in you tube have cats -0:07- in the videos? LOL

    BTW i like cats.

  • hey Elric, i just want to ask you, isn't that a HDMI not a display-port?

  • I LOVE IT !

  • what am i supposed to do with 20gb ssd? i like the idea but i wouldnt put an OS on that, to small for comfort.

  • @MrMexicanZombie 20GB is more than enough for Windows 7 x64... when I install Windows 7 x64, it comes in under 10GB...

  • @CJCA915 .... try to put win 7 64 on a 20gb ssd and see what happens :D

  • @MrMexicanZombie What's the difference between a 20GB HDD or SSD, besides the storage itself, one uses platters, the other uses solid state memory... however, since I can't afford an SSD, what happens?

  • @CJCA915 if you dont know the difference between a 20gb hdd and ssd. then you obviously have never owned and used a ssd for o.s./gaming/multimedia usage. it is a NIGHT and DAY difference. and it's called newegg dot com they have the best pricing on ssd's. tiger direct dot com has gotten better on video cards but the egg is the closest thing you'll have to a wholesale account without having one. mlc sandforce 1200 ssd's are still 2 bucks per gig. and getting cheaper

  • @CJCA915 I havent known anyone to do it successfully on that size of an ssd. I am sure it can be done because microsoft says you need 16gb of memory for win 7 64 hp before updates so thats why i had said it was pushing it. everyone i know uses at least 30 just for a boot drive. yeah memory is memory i was just talking about the size not the fact that it was an ssd. I want one for a boot drive...im in the same boat thinking they are to expensive still for media.

  • @MrMexicanZombie Memory and drive space are 2 different things... memory is the long sticks you put in the slots on the board...

Well, I install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my HDD in under 15GB...

  • @CJCA915 thats what i meant :D you must have some external back up...i could be wrong but i think most ppl partition? either that or they dont back up there systems at all.

  • @MrMexicanZombie I have 1 x 250GB HDD and 1 x 1TB HDD, I install Windows on the smaller one, along with my software, etc. and my 3D models, and all that are saved on the 1TB HDD...

  • @MrMexicanZombie It acts as a cache for the HDD. The chipset turns it into a hybrid system that moves files around based on which ones are most often accessed.

  • @TalesOfWar now it makes more sense! thanks.

  • is that SSD in a minni PCI express slot? So you can maybe swap it for a network card?

  • @yoiiiaaa It's mSATA as far as I'm aware.

  • that ssd is enough for win7 :D! (OS) x86

  • 20GBs isnt enough

  • @kamikazerus For smart response it is, derp.

  • @kamikazerus It's not 20gb only, you add a hdd, to use intel's srt
