I kind of enjoy this scene because I consider them dying in this manner to be poetic justice. Think of it this way, if Frank Castle The Punisher found his way into the Sailor Moon Universe, Uranus and Neptune would be the kind of people he'd kill.

Oh this episode always makes me so sad. : ( And natually the dubbed isn't as nearly powerful... but on a side note... if Neptune was getting shot... shouldn't there be blood and more wounds? She just holds her arm... while she does sound and look like she's in a world of pain.. there still isn't any blood or real markings. Poor Neptune.

The americans didn't want little girls watching to know they were lesbians (hot lesbian lovers) so they made them cousins, which is worse in my opinion because that promotes incest practically...not to mention it didn't fit the story. I remember sitting there as an eight year old, trying to figure out why cousins never met one another till high school, and how the way they acted just didn't work like cousins. Ah well, at least I thought they had pretty voice actors....

Cuz in america, the dub was mainly for younger kids whereas original japanese was for an older audience. I loved this episode as a kid, Uranus and Neptune were my favorite.

The US sucks when it comes to anime. They throw things out of proportion. They need to let the original be aired and see how many more people like it then if it were to be 'Americanized.' Hell, people around the world laugh at the US because of three main things: our President's stupidity, our ignorance to same sex couples (I'm straight), and our da*n censorship. We need compentant people in the tv business.
So, I check this out because this girl (I'm male) tells me that this is the saddest scene in any anime. I watch, I yawned. Nothing was sad. Big deal. Neptune gets shot about 500 times with arrows that left no mark and then gets shot by a gun that doesn't really kill her.Then Uranus shoots herself with it as well. It's not like they really die, they just lose something and they have no marks on them. Haku and Zabuza was more emotional than this and they don't even ace the best.

In the english dubed version you couldn't really tell they were lesbians. They made it very un=clear except for when they were holding hands. The also made the death less graphic.

Yes, it was on CN, but Haruka and Michiru were changed to 'cousins'. They left this scene intact and pretty much unaltered, if memory serves correct.
