@pillowcase97 Her name is not even officially clara... its just a convenient reference name. -.- The story his highly open to interpretation, when you do not even bother to officially set up the plot in the original work, with out even giving the main character a name. She goes by other names too. It is like saying a person interpreted an open canvas incorrectly. This ballet is incredibly open to interpretation compared to other works with much more detailed backing, ie, swan lake etc...
Ah yes, I've got a video of the 1985 production, drosselmeyer doesnt wear blue or a cape, he wears brown and a black eye patch, and the toys in that didn't torment carla, the mice did until drosselemeyer chased them away. In this one he's more of a bunny in the hat magician, but the one I have portrays him as more of a stern sorcerer
@doctorfuse007 How stupid are you? You have to be incredibly strong to dance ballet, there would be no way to do ballet and have an eating disorder. Do you have any idea how much stamina and endurance it takes to dance on stage? A two minute performance will have you out of breath if you are not in perfect shape, and that means eating right. These girl are just very toned and healthy. It is not healthy to be fat, people!

As if teenage girls didn't have enough pressures. You know you have a vested interest and that you are promoting destructive body images.
Check out jazz and modern dancers - they're not 'thin' like ballet dancers but they have more endurance and strength, plus more creative choreography. Show some courage - be critical.

There has never been a teacher that tried to make us be unhealthy. The diet is high protein and lots of vitamins you idiot! You obviously aren't in ballet so you have no clue. You shouldn't open your mouth about things you know nothing of. Ballet takes the most strength, and I would know.

And by the way, I have been around professional ballet companies for two decades, and have had friends, or kids of friends at the National Ballet School of Canada.
