About the scale he´s using, well, it´s a sweet coctel of B minor pentatonic with some fast chromatics at the begining and on most of the solo, he also uses the B harmonic minor as you can see at 0:39 with that B flat, and of course the B natural minor as well, but that´s just 5% of the sound. Theory has no point here.
I could listen to this all day. That feeling; that TONE! You've clearly worked very hard to get to the level of playing you're at. Very inspirational, thanks for sharing.
@wannabelaiho who knows. I know I sometimes play better while im not looking at the fretboard. Theres a point when you get completely lost in the music, and youre just fully immersed and your fingers just goto the right places to make a beautiful work.
Nice! Love those semi-hollow axes! Tone is just fat, and this being a Gibson is no exception. I would just use the neck pickup on the clean channel boosted with a little fatness for blues. Sweet!
Mr. Thammarat is a theory geek and you can hear it. I disagree that his style is unique (it is certainly nothing I haven't heard before). I am a bit stunned that someone such as yourself who claims to have "studied music" believes this guy has more style than a legendary virtuoso who is unique in his own right. Steve Vai obviously has a strong musical knowledge, but it doesn't sound like he is playing an instructional exercise over a boring backing track such as Mr. Thammarat is doing.
@MrChickenpants theory geeks are what make music so special, Beethoven, wagner, and berlioz where some of the greatest composers in history all of them theory crafters. I dont know what you find "boring" about his video but i hate to break it too you but that is the genre we call jazz.. this kid feels the music and created his own sound based on what He wanted to play, besides he can imitate vai better than via can play
steve vai might be tehnically good, but his playing has no feeling and plus he's a fuckin loser. just look at him wit his grease hair and shades. fucking lame-ass
@Mrphailz90210 Let's not get carried away. This guy is good but nothing I haven't heard before. Steve Vai is a guitar God and a virtuosic legend. He is lightyears ahead of mr. Thammarat. I'll say it again, Mr. Thammarat is good, but nothing I haven't heard before. Vai is MUCH better
@MrChickenpants he shits on him now in terms of style and technique and iv studied music for quiet some time... both are extremely talented but Vai just cant play with the clarity and tone that this young man can.
We can all see why his guitar playing rises above most of the crowd --- touch, feel, versatility, melodic, skill ...etc One of my favorite guitarists on YouTube, and I've watched a lot of them. --and ... he will yet continue to improve! Great player he is!
Wow. You're a true inspiration bud! .. I'm sure you worked very hard to get here. The very best of luck to you for the future ahead... Keep playin' and posting!..
@washburnmilnaire that is the kind of guitar cliffs of dover was recorded on lol ironic that everyone thinks you have to play it on a fender strat, in fact its not easy to play on a strat, play it on a sg or a es. good solo though jack, shit...;.
@tonysk8tilldeath he is influenced by many great guitarist as you can see yourself on its website, i think this piece is very unique, he used many jazz & blues techniques nicely (jazz octaves, right hand harmonics with hammer on and etc) , i think for your question , i can safely say that one of many guitarist is Eric johnson that you should check out.
Wow young man!!! You will go far and make alot of people happy with your fantastic talent. Damn you are good. You made my year. I play good, but you play great.
@KingOfShadows1500 Dude, i think you should learn all the modes in all the keys, changing from one to another , what suits the best in transition from one to another, what are their feelings, what 7ths, dim and other chords available in a specific mode, thats what Satch suggested in one of his lesson, you can search his lesson on modes on youtube easily.
@MrClaptonstrat He keeps changing things up, he uses both arpeggios, natural minor, pentatonic, harmonic etc. He also throws in a flat 5 once in a while as well as cromatics. I hope that answers your question or helps :)
@fedfyr thanks man that helps a lot. the reason i ask is because im primarily a bluesman (even though i'm only 16) but i want to break free of my pentatonic bounds and explore more with more minor shapes and modes. i kow mostly all of them, but i'm still a tad wet behind the ears when it comes to venturing past the pentatonic, but thanks again for the comment. Also, got any ideas on the arrepegios he's usin? Plus, please check some of my videos; i think you will like them (more on the way)
