I am impressed on so many levels. First, that these kayakers have this much "adventure" in them. Second, I kayak, and paddles can take quite a beating. This paddle broke, yet the kayaker was able to hold firm to some part of it. And then, he was able to execute an ad hoc roll with half a paddle.

Have to say I loved the Means Of Production film, well up there with the top kayaking films at the moment such as Dream Result. Got quiet a bit of inspiration as we are a small kayaking flm production team - Small water by far compared to that video, but we have started our own business doing long kayaking expedition films and out door persuits - Its films like this that have inspired us....Good Job guys

Low volume for playboating. doesn't float as well, so you can do tricks with the undercurrents in the river. Better for running a big hole like that because it gets flushed through more easily rather than surfed by the hole.

How do you manage to get out of the hole? I know how to get out of smaller ones but is it just the same principal?

Just kind of tuck up, hold your breath and count to ten. That'd be the technique. Not a lot else to do.

A friend of mine accidentally front surfed it for a while. He had to deliberately capsize to get out but it was all cool.
