Kool And The Gang is one of the best bands of all time, for me the best soul funk group ever. I just love them, they got good music and every song was a hit. They were all musicians 13 all together, They are superb, ny favorite song of all Love Festival 1981 from the album Celebration
Super, super cool, my all time top favorite Robert Bell and his funky group dancers! They got the feet for stepping out and sure enough, groovy! Real disco chacha of the 80s, the type of music we really miss now. Great dancers and music of all times!
@MrJSU2010 Go ahead and blow Southern's azz up. But don't sleep on GSU this year. Yep, I'm an old alumni from Grambling State. Goooooooooooooooo Tigers
i was 8 years old in 1981. it seems like the older i get the more i gravitate towards this type of music as opposed to the 90s and 80s rap music and hip hop scene that i was such an advocate of as a young man and teenager.
What's the name of the other synth player, who share the keyboard parts with Kevin Bell...?? The one who plays the heavy synth bass part, during the break...Anyone knows his name...??
Now ...it's not him ! That's what I was trying to say in fact; cause Curtis "Fitz" Williams joined the group only in 1982 , but before there was that other young guy -the one we see here- he was there only from 1979 to 1981...then he left... he used to be the second keyboardist(the other one being "Kool" and Ronald's brother : Kevin Bell...) ... I don't know his name... but I am sure it's not Curtis "Fitz" Williams (didn't join yet by the time this video was made [1981] ...)
Yep : Kevin Bell (who stayed in his brothers' group but for one or two years [left by late 1981]...) Thank you ! Actually, I happened to found out who was who, I used to mix up the different keyboardists they had at some point : there was that guy called Earl Toon Jr. (who also stayed just one or two years with them...); but the ones I often mix up in the videos are Kevin Bell and "Fitz", who came later...here, it seems it was still their young brother (Kevin Bell) ...Thanks !

Those guys were true legends. The 70s and 80s must have been awesome for music like this shame i wasn't born until ten years after this song was released.
Thank you for your comments. I thought I was the only person who thought so. The man can sing and to sing nose to tail (falsetto) is very difficult but JT nailed it. I have all the K&TG JT CD's and his four solo albums.
However, I can understand why there are many differing opinions on the best lead vocalists. THere's Teddy P, Thomas Shelby, Charlie Wilson, Michael Jackson, Stokley Williams, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Philip Bailey, Kevon Edmonds...the list goes on....so perhaps one of the best is more appropriate to JT.
1978,in reality...but appears only starting 1979's album "Ladies Night"...stayed throughout the whole next decade(the eighties...) [...well : in fact, he decided to leave in 1987/88 for a solo carrer (that never really worked fine, to this very day...) ]
