An ostrich can lash out in defense, and can be dangerous. An ostrich leg kick is as powerful as a grizzy bear swipe.

A zebra can kick with extreme force. For cats with lighter weight but high muscle density its all about where they strike.

Because lions DONT on head to head with ostrich, they attack behind ostrich. There are no proof that lions lost their lives to the ostrich. Lions often survived horrible injuries. Ostrich cannot rear kick because of the leg design, they can only kick an animal in front of the ostrich. human are much weak than a 300 pounds lioness.

lions take down amongst the largest prey for their body size. they on occasion take down large buffalo bulls, and though this is not an everyday occurrence, they are MUCH stronger than you think. an ostrich is a very easy kill for a lioness- which by the way 300 would be a very small lioness; they tend to reach 350-400 pounds.

Lions have been documented to take down elephants, this is ofcourse extremely rare but has happend. I am of course not talking about baby elephants, I am talking about large lion herds attacking a single adult elephant and bringing it down and eating it.
