@inbloom97, there was a semifinal round in the 1930 World Cup, USA lost to Argentina and Yugoslavia lost to Uruguay each by a score of 6-1. There was no 3rd place match and the report that you are refering to was deemed false over 20 years ago...the USA was awarded 3rd place likely due to goal differential
