The sound was most likely contact between the bat and ball, as you can clearly hear that it was a woody sound. On top of that you can see the ball slightly, but clearly, change direction as it passes the bat. How it didn't come up on Hotspot of Snicko is phenomenal.

@bilal0347 LOL a sonic boom occurs when something breaks the speed of sound, and the speed of sound is over 1200km/h, so I'm pretty sure nothing broke that. The sound was most likely contact between the bat and ball, as you can clearly hear that it was a woody sound. On top of that you can see the ball slightly, but clearly, change direction as it passes the bat. How it didn't come up on Hotspot of Snicko is phenomenal.

Put yourself in his shoes. Pietersen is arguably the best batter on the english side and a knick is heard as the ball passes the bat when the bat was no where near the pad or boot. What would you think? None of you can say you wouldn't be angry or frustrated and wanting an explanation. Don't hate on Ricky, let his batting stats do the talking.

@Hashuism because the none of the Umpires were certain, so when it went to 3rd umpire, there no deviation in the flight of the ball (or any spin put on it) there's no hot spot on the bat where it would have bushed by - Result not out- batsman always has the benefit of the doubt So despite 2 umpires on the field not calling it out, & 3rd umpire with tech , wont call it either, Ponting blows his top and mouths off to Aleem Dar - YOU DO NOT ARGUE WITH AN UMPIRE IN CRICKET,

Well it was a right decision to give him 'not-out' ...because a batsmen cannot be given out until the umpire is fully convinced ...and here we could clearly see that the replays were not showing any bat-ball contact ....so that's a fair decision ..... and as far as ponting's behavior is concerned, well he's a sore looser ...he should learn to accept defeat ....!!
