@Stoffinator2008 lol thatd be hilarious, but many apps allow you to use photos as avatars, like youtube, xbox live, facebook, in fact almost every social service allows you to put your own pics as avatars - except playstation network lol. nudity isnt a problem on any of the aforementioned services, so why should it be with psn? all sony has to do to avoid nudity is adhere to stringent privacy policies like the others and then BAM straight away youve got better value for you ps eye :)

Live does not allow you to use your own avatars for the same reason PSN doesn't. You get to choose from a selection that they provide, just like PSN. And Facebook etc are more heavy monitored than the console networks. So I don't see what is "hilarious"?

I had an update like awhile back that caused my game disc's from reading. So I had to start a demo and hit the ps button to access the xmb and start up the game that way. I thought I needed a new lense but decided to wait. As they say patients is a virtue because I waited and this firmware cured my ps3 plus I'm not out any money. Thank you sony ^_^

I haven't read any issues where it "fucks up" your PS3. Its all graphical changes. If you can, I would avoid updating, but you may not be able to play online. And who knows when the "fixes" will come out.
