Dude, I don't disagree with everything you said. It irks me a bit too when the only time celbs give a shit is when really bad stuff happens, Tsunami 6 years ago, the Haitian earthquake etc. Plus the fact (idk if you mentioned this or not) the Federal Gov. is transporting people here from Haiti to be treated in Floridian hospitals, FOR FREE, and overloading them pisses me the fuck off.

Our economic system works in that there is ALWAYS going to be rich people, middle class, and poor - you can't ever escape it. You can, however, change your level with work etc. Throwing money at people isn't going to solve their unemployment.
If anything, the US almost OWES Haiti help. You know a main reason that country is so shitty is because of political and economic breakdowns as a result of the US driving/funding coupes to over throw the leaders at the time with "western ones"?

then the leaders turned on the US and began to oppress them? The CIA has done that shit so many times, and it's always a fucking disaster later on. While the Haitians (as you said) need to help themselves and rebuild, you can't rebuild if you have nothing to go from.
Remember, America wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the help/aid of a foreign nation - France - who came to our rescue in the Revolutionary War - look it up - we would have been fucked with out them.

Yeah, I never once saw my taxes from my paycheck go toward "Hatian Relief Fund". The only thing that was mentioned about it at work was a simple question that WE HAD the CHOICE to whether we donated or not. Dont know where you work at but maybe you should report them to the Feds if you think they FORCED you to make a tax deductible DONATION (deffinition: VOLUNTARY gift, that means you CHOOSE to give, not held at gun point.)
