I was in Echo 35th July 2000. DS were Wiseman and Whitehead. This is really funny to come across this video. I'm a DS now and was on here to find a video to show the Pvt's what a 12B Sapper does. Awesome!
Guys im really bummed out. Wanted 11b but only the reserves will take me with my DUI waiver so the recruiter said combat engineer is the next best thing. Do they get to see combat in Afghanistan similar to Infantry?-ie being posted in firebases like in the documentary Restrepo. Also how similar is their AIT compared to infantry's like do we get to shoot guns and laser tag as much as infantry? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
@Boston1775 shit dude are you kidding? was it hard getting your waiver for ur DUI? i got one a little less than a year from now and my recruiter told me i gotta wait till this march(probation over) till i can talk. Im trying to be combat engineer. How long did ur waiver take?
@FunkySpunky91 This is what I'm doing too, I just got my DUI waiver signed..I haven't been to MEPS yet..I've been in the process of getting to OSUT since August..
@GrazzleSticks90 shit man! how long did it take to get your waiver? and what shit/ ass kissing do you have to do for it? its such a pain in the ass these days to get into the military...
im enlisting as soon as i meet the weight requirement... im to light :( but i want to be 21B really bad...! thanks guys for what you do and have done!!
@zeangia Brother it's great to have your words on this page, our job is like no other in the services, we don't get the glory of some but we are revered for our discipline & what we can do, we are not only Infantry we are "Smart Infantry" skilled at deploying and recovery of the some of the most well designed killing devices ever made, as well operate just about every wheeled and tracked tactical vehicle in the Military. Glad to know you Marine!
Im enlisting next summer (When im 18) as a Combat Engineer, I only have the basic knowledge of what this MOS does, but can anyone give me some tips? HOOAH!
@NARproductions this MOS is very physically demanding but the most important thing is always listen, physically u'll improve. 21B is like infantry w/ c4, u destroy more than u build. My best advice to u is,if you're signing up for college money, this is the wrong MOS 4 u. but if u'r willing to put your life in the line so others can survive or do their mission, then this is the one,yes u r gonna be in the front, dont let the (eng-fool u,thats why there's a combat word in front of it. 1 Sapper 2/3
@totoynani143 "Sapper 2/3"... You wouldnt happen to mean 2nd infantry 3rd stryker brigade would you??? Are you familliar with yelling "Sappers Forward" every morning??? Yakima???
Enlisted yesterday, April 20(turned 18 today). I'm heading to Ft. Leonard Wood August 2nd for the 12b/21b Mos, Combat Engineer. North Carolina National Guard....
@arrow403 You will never regret your choice. If you want some "inside lines" email me. If not, rememebr they are going to set up up to FAIL no matter what, the LEADERSHIP course even has "events" that are unsolvable on purpose, dont get rattled, never say "can't" dont sit on your bunk and dont drink Milk the morning of the CS Chamber no matter what those Drills say! Good Luck Future Brother!
@ramairgto72 i leave for basic training aug 12th 21b i am 6'2 180 pound benching 280 pounds with all that in mind any tips you can give me on combatives and the pugals i am also a football players so if that helps you vizulize umm i have exp with fighting but its street fighting will this be the same and also shooting a rife i hunt with friends will the wepons be the same if you can answer this for me it will be a big help thx again bro for the advice
@hiltonsmith90 PT1 The ARMY Combat Engineer OSUT is designed to find fault with you in every area, they make you fail, no matter "what" you think your going to be good at they will find some way of overloading you with it. The Army Combat Engineer is the hardest non SF Basic in all Branches of the services even the USMC. The way to find your groove is to do what they say no matter what you think, be first, never last, purposely do minor things wrong to be remembered as in "Sure Sarge"
@hiltonsmith90 PT2 "Sure Sarge" vs "YES DRILL SARGENT!" use it skillfully and not to piss off the SGT, sure you may "push" for it, but it shows your not just another number frightened by the Brown Round, as hard as they come down on you they look for people who show that they are no longer frightened and now looking for another challenge, as well showing 100% Soldierisim, no mess ups, clean & cut uniform squared away dress right dress while checking that your battle buddies are as well
@hiltonsmith90 PT3 Battle buddies are as well squared away for the day will shine the most, make sure you have everything you need plus a few spares, someone is going to loose something like a pen, the first 2 weeks I swear nobody could fill up both canteens for PT or the days events, I would check my squad for water and uniform fuckups, we would pour a little from every ones canteen to even out the water, everyone is the team, no you not anyone else, work as a team. The watch you always!
@hiltonsmith90 PT4 Don't drink milk the morning of the CS Chamber, thats a little joke the Drills do. As Milk takes longer to digest and will still be in your stomach by the time you do the CS Chamber. My class had large amount of 20s guys like myself who were little more better off then the out of HS kids. I was first in both times, 1st to do a clearing of the Pro Mask then to remove it, they made sure the entire company seen us come out, snot, spit from nose to boots & im 6'4", it was fun 4 me
@hiltonsmith90 PT5 Forget how you fired a weapon before, it will not help you, in fact guys who have never fired before tend to do better as they do what the Drills tell them to and nothing else. Pull the weapon hard into your shoulder , pull the weapon hard into your shoulder, pull the weapon hard into your shoulder! You will have body armor on and or other gear that largely effects the outcome of your shot. Help your battle buddies no matter what even if they are assholes
@hiltonsmith90 PT6 Remember most of all never quit, they design some of the things they you do to fail, as in you cant beat it unless you cheat and they want you to, you have to trust me on this, if they told you all to cheat everyone would, fully knowing that some obstacles are not beatable! "Leadership Course"! Be quick with answers, if you dont know fucking say "The PVT does not know the Answer" Dont fuck over your battle buddies you need them as much as they need you to make it!
@hiltonsmith90 PT7 Lastly stop & take in what you are doing you will never have another 1st time in Basic enjoy it as if you will reflect on it when you are older & maybe answering some would be enlistees questions on youtube! Do things that stand out, all you will be thinking of doing is making it, once you "have this" push on, ask questions. Have fun you will never be this young going on a epic adventure that few get to do, soak it all in and smile. This is life at the edge you will miss it!
I talked with a recruiter on 4-11-11 about a different MOS "CAVALRY SCOUTS". I do not use ANY DRUGS! Just hit me up I check my mail often, I would much rather listen to a COMBAT ENGINEER and learn from someone that has completed the trainning. Iam not SCARED OR NERVOUS just dont want to set myself or family up for failure!!
thanks for getting back with me. OK Iam in desent shap for my age (34) 170# 5'9 can run 1 mile 9:30 - 2 miles 19:00 about 30 sit ups same on push ups!! been workn hard on my fitness!! any tips or advice for wants to come would be great!! thank you
@fastzxrbike Sounds like your on your way, next step is going to your local recruiter and taking your "test ASVAB" test.. Before you take your ASVAB test I would like to talk to you about some tips & tricks on taking it but I will email you via tube as I dont need people seeing what I'm going to tell you. Also word to the wise if you have any drugs in your system your going to get caught and you will NEVER be able to serve in ANY branch forever as you cant take that back, and they dont forgive!
@fastzxrbike Nope! when you take your PT tests they do it via your age group, older is less. Tho anyone joining the Military should at least get in shape.
@celtics34343434 Do yourself a favor and read about all the services then picture yourself 20 years later, any branch is good, however most wont talk about the E6 USMC wall.
Remember that hype is just hype but young is not forever!
@TKDfighterBill Every MOS has a projected life expectancy. Combat Engineers clear the way or stay behind to slow down the enemy we are exposed to the edge of battle or in harms way. Not unlike SF who go behind enemy lines for operations Sappers go behind lines to destroy or build.
Doing Combat Engineer as your OSUT Basic then go SAPPER then RANGER your stacking cards in favor for advancement, as most SF groups look for 12-Bs with Demo experience, they even had flyers at FLW, no BS I seen them!
@TKDfighterBill Going AF is not a bad idea, the Army sees them as their younger Geek brothers & sisters, in a good way. The AF and Army are woven together in most fields. To understand why you must look back to the creation of the USAF, see this asshole Navy lover fuck singed into power that the Army can't have any fixed wing aircraft, so to off set that the USAF birthed from the Army. Most think that this was a way to keep the Army for a monopoly of military power over the Navy.
@ramairgto72 good to see this. i'm going to try and get sf after 12b. how hard is it to get airborne training if it's not in my contract? i was unable to get option 4.
@theBubbadukes When you get to Basic request it! Its that easy, talk to your Drill Sgt to make it happen, if things seem like they are not moving along ask to talk to your First SGT, and if he cant make it happen TELL your Drill Sgt that you would like to talk to your Commanding Officer. You cant just walk up to your LT or Commander or even your First Sgt, you have to ask the lowest rank above you. That hoe rank works. Keep asking cuz they will test you to see how bad you want it!
@ramairgto72 appreciate the advice and quick response. i'll make sure to go up the ladder if need be until i get airborne training or it becomes evident it's completely out of the question.
The US Army is not the oldest service. The National Guard is the oldest branch of service. Back when each state had it's own Militia. It is still lik that today and this is now known as the National Guard
@Msalazar6sicVI Sorry your wrong. How could a Army NG be before having an Army, the Army commanded by Washington was created before we were a nation. You can look it up yourself in the Nation Archives.
@Msalazar6sicVI Your WRONG high speed, NG or :No Gos" was active 1903, what your attempting to sell is "militia" of 1630s and enacted in 1636. Since we were not the "United States" or declared ourselves not part of the UK its just a militia...
14 June 1775 Army VS late USMC 10 November 1775 still makes the ARMY the oldest and the First! Thanks have a great day!
@ramairgto72 So you're trying to say that the militias don't count because they were before we were considered The United States of America? you're contradicting yourself. The Army was established before we were the USA as well. And in case you don't know, which you don't. The National Guard is still a Militia. Every state funds their own military. I was in the Arizona National Guard. Technically speaking, Arizona could declare war on California. of course that will never happen.
@Msalazar6sicVI Read "American Continental Army" via Continental Congress. You cant say the NG was before the US ARMY or Continental Army because it was just a "militia" nothing but guys on call with rifles BEFORE we cut ties, you just cant claim that as not true. As for the NG being "militia", its really just BS NGs are just reserve troops with less a skill set, NGs swear in diff from Federal ARMY but do reg BCT however they go home after. Most states have real militia avg joe with weapons.
@Radion561 Short answer is yes, you can be a Combat Engineer with Air Borne wings (and or air assault) and or go to SAPPER school and become a Sapper that requires Air Borne.
Or you can go Combat Engineer then go 11-B infantry with Air Borne before or after.. Only the Army offers this kind of flexibility.
If you go 12-B Combat Engineer first it's better as having 12-B OSUT FLW as your birth into the Army is hard core, anyone can do Basic not many can do 12-B OSUT or Ranger Boot.
question... right now the two slots for my unit are either 0313 or combat engineer... if the 0313 gets taken up i was wondering in an honest opinion how much combat do combat engineers see?
@gideup409 0313 is a USMC LAV MOS. If you join the Engineers in the USMC be warned you going to end up training on ARMY gear at mostly ARMY from ARMY cadre.
i have a question i am heavily thinking on doing this mos, but what does it entail? what is it like? and the biggest question....how much math does it involve?
0:56 "all other service shoot stationary targets". Very much incorrect my friend. United States Marine Corps Qualifies with movers, day and night, and also engaging targets unsupported out to 500 meters. Next time know what your talking about before saying something dumb. If you want to check check out Marine Corps Order (MCO) 3574.2K.
@ramairgto72 Not to talk like I am a Soldier. But Sir,they don't do the moving target thing anymore, its just stationary,at 300 meters away, better than some countries through. If people want to be Rifle Gods, they should join the Marine Infantry. A 12 Bravo's job is to make sure the Army doesn't get blown to kingdom come, and blow the enemy away guys.
@25Milimeter Tho current BRM has changed some since I was in 00-06, the US Army still deploys moving pop up targets for BRM, added to BRM is close quarter combat drills, something that was not done in my class but later on, they have just condensed it. As for as "Rifle Gods" go please note that the USMC dose not require moving targets for BRM, combat unit comparison of the ARMY & USMC nets the ARMY with higher BRM scores as well even a US ARMY Olympic rifle team! Lore is the core!
@25Milimeter By the way 21-B and or 12-Bs are Infantry with explosives, we called are "Smart Infantry" as we do what they do, get attached to infantry but can do much more, while a 11B gets done doing his job of standard combat infantry Combat Engineers end up doing that plus the ability to drive just about anything with tracks & wheels, I dont have the room here to expose this but the Combat Engineers have one of the highest rank climbing MOS, as its hard people quit, switch, get hurt & die!
@ramairgto72 Yeah man,it should be "Sappers lead the way" cause they make sure Rangers don't get blown away.. I'm gonna probably do 12b/21b in the Army,or 1371 in the Marines, but choosing branches was always hard for me,lol.
@25Milimeter PT1: I rem being in your spot, 2 things pushed, correction had me running to the ARMY was Rank & MOS, first the USMC gives you a % of getting your MOS, it's not in stone so you could end up in butt-fuck-Egypt on some desk job, as for rank once you hit E5 E6 you hit a wall, if you stepped on anyone's toes or screwed up in any way or your PT & BRM are not better then most they kick you out or demote you! The ARMY will not hold you to your enlistment if you dont get your MOS,
@25Milimeter PT2: as for rank in the ARMY you do have walls, and BRM and PT counts but since the ARMY is so vast you can switch posts or MOS to suit your needs, as well education activities and programs are numerous unlike the USMC, another reason I picked the ARMY was that the USMC 90% of their training takes place at ARMY forts via ARMY cadre, they get used ARMY gear and historically have not been in every War or engagement, not even first to fight. It's up to you, lean before you leap!
@ramairgto72 I'll keep that in mind.. Not only that happens to you in the USMC [as you mentioned in PT1],but they're kicking out Marines so they can have 185k active duty Marines, and reenlistments are also getting worse your the Marines.. But I also had another question: I'm not the best at math, what math skills does the Engineers use?
just got a curious question... i know it always varies, but how long does the recruitment process take? ive heard up to a month, but ive also heard people taking a much longer time. I plan on applying in april (recruiter told me to do so because basic was full last year), so im guessing if i apply as early as i can, that i should get in fairly easily?
@TheTopNoob Recruitment takes only a few days, really its you taking the ASVAB test (& passing for your MOS), what takes long is getting your MOS. Yes I have seen people who have to hold out up to a year to go. If your going to be a Combat Engineer your going to Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and the best time to go is April. Winter OSUT sucks from what I have been told & as well it would as it's get very very very Cold in MO as well Hot in summer, so spring is a balance. Hope this helps.
@TheTopNoob Don't drink Milk the morning of the CS chamber! Some morons in my company in the video above drank it on the SUGGESTION of the drill Sgts that it would some how lessen the effect of chlorobenzalmalononitrile!
Milk takes longer to digest thus staying in the stomach longer, long enough to still be in the stomach during the CS chamber where they ended up placing the milk right outside the door!
@TheTopNoob The shots of the CS chamber were later, I was in the very first group going into the chamber both times (one just to clear your Pro Mask, second to remove the mask) The second time they dumped at least 30 CS pellets into the room, while inside the moved the rest of the company to see us come out! I was hyped, then nervous then I was on adrenaline, then I was outside with snot & drule extending from my face to my boots, (I'm 6'4") burning inside & out & dry heaving! I loved it!
@TheTopNoob I enlisted for the 12b combat engineer back in September, I ship out in March. Everybody I know who has enlisted, has to wait at least 5 months. My buddy is an 11X signed up mid October, not leaving until end of March. You should sign up, and just reserve your MOS now, just tell them when you'd prefer to ship off. Delay Entry. Oh, don't expect much of an enlistment bonus for it either. 1000 for 4 years or 4000 for 6 years, was what I was offered.
@chatownboi88 It's not up to the recruiter how much of a bonus would be offered. My recruiter showed me the job listings on the internet and what was available, the options and bonus' that come with the job. In short, No it doesn't matter where the recruiting station is. Also, I didn't sign up for the bonus. It wouldn't been a nice incentive, but I signed up because I wanted to do it. I leave on Monday. Good luck to you.
@DarkPsy0ps I did my Basic in April 00, it's the absolute best time to do Basic!
It's chilly for April and part of May then heats up, this is great for getting into shape in the beginning, your in cool weather that helps you out then it gets hotter but your "good".
Trust me a winter basic is screwed, freezing BRM with gloves.
Remember to be first for everything and never last for anything!
@s3fredo Unfortunately for you I study Military History, please tell everyone here HOW and WHY the US Army 3 ID is called "Rock Of The Marne"? Or not!
Take care on slippery slopes as France as many, at fault 2 world wars maybe excusable not much.
For your service Afghanistan IS better I will not take anything away from those who fight for freedom I am also not going to dam France as without France I could be here as a British Subject, I also like your latest scarf laws >:)
Because U.S did the 2nd "Bataille de la Marne" in 1918 behind Frenchs and Britishs.150,000 for all of us.The First battle was in 1914,with much more casualties but no G.I. at this time.
No excuses for cowards in any country.BUT,
If the 'Opération Seelöwe" was a success, maybe you would speak German.
@s3fredo Gallic Wars Italian Wars Augsburg League King William's War French & Indian War Spanish Succession Napoleonic Wars The Franco-Prussian War Indochina Algerian Rebellion World War II ALL LOST! Thirty Years War Not in it but got invaded anyhow! War of Devolution:Tied The Dutch War: Tied Hundred Years War: Mostly lost, saved by a female schizophrenic! American Revolution:"de Gaulle Syndrome" French Revolution: Won & Lost both French! World War I: Tied Greetings From History!
@s3fredo Is a Frenchmen who was utterly upset at my comment on a French Air Force youtube vid, I made the simple comment asking "Do they have weapons for their aircraft?"
I say this because the once proud French who fought for freedom are now stuck up their own asses and have no will to fight for "right" much!
Not only that but the idea of France not weaponizing their AF is hysterical, why? Because France has a legacy of surrendering & or not doing anything!
@Ernblastio The ARMY has calculated that Combat Engineers have about 32 seconds on the modern battlefield dew to the nature of their job. Smart Infantry!
@ramairgto72 i dont understand that 32 second stuff...... so thats how long it takes them do there job or how long it takes them to die? lol im confused......
@TheDevenrocks Death, since Combat Engineers go "in front" of the main body of the main force we are tasked to clear anything that would slow or stop the main force from continuing. With this current war Combat Engineers are tasked with "Route Clearance" among other things. This includes rendering IEDs useless or into "bits" Mines, traps, bridges, fortifications & when we are not doing that we are infantry... 32 seconds expected life on the modern battlefield. in 2000 as an E2 I made .32 hour.
@Ernblastio It depends on what you want to do in the military, for me the ARMY was the clear winner, 21-B was not as watered down as 11-B and the skills you learn in 21-B are beyond any other MOS, they also stick out if you change MOS.
If your undecided do yourself a favor and dont get fooled by LORE (usmc), user your mind and think about beyond 30!
@troyez I joined "arrived" April 2000, yes no shit, they keep the plows on year round, snow in the winter and that fine dust that acts like snow and covers the roads in summer. It was hot that summer the Kiwi melted off our boots, thats not some wise ass story! Never seen a tumble weed until FLW. I spent that winter at FLW, we had one day of freezing rain, ICE was a bitch! Return from X mas was a bitch 11pm last day I rolled in, just made it!
@SoggyPatato I seen your home page, since all you do is act like a cocksucker by asking convicting questions or just vomit your opinions as if truth i'm going to block you from any future comments then remove them after I feel real good about you not getting the last word >:)
@SSasskicker The military has a "life expectancy" time line for at least "Combat MOS" Soldiers. The 21-B (12-B) Combat Engineer is required to venture out beyond the front lines to "Clear The Way" (motto) as well stay behind destroying and/or slow down any force with explosives! We are Smart Infantry, Combat Engineers are the most capable units in the Military with multiple skills aka a Force Multiplier in Military terms. We are in harms way more then not! 32 seconds >:)
@ramairgto72 That pretty kick ass to know and I bet they really are the most capable soldiers at what they do. You just pumped me up bro, I enlisted recently as a 12b myself. I leave in November for OSUT at Leanordwood. In training for the Sapper Tab when im eligible for it (Still an E-3 atm) Thanks for the info bro.
@SSasskicker You in for an adventure! I was Echo 35th. If you want Sapper go see your Drill Sgt when you get to your Company, tell them you want Sapper they can put you on the right track, after OSUT they will send you to Air Borne school as you need to be AB for Sapper. Sapper is done at FLW, about a 10min walk from just about any Engineer Barracks on post, if your lucky the Drills will take you to the Sapper course to rapell & do shit. Stand out, they look for leaders with no fear!
but i have heard of women sappers so isn't that like the same thing ...also i dont why they dont let women do what they want to do because i could handle it definitally ..i play football and dirt bike once i broke this 15 year olds collar bone playing football.
@armysappergirl4life Fist a applaud you for wanting to serve and as far as I feel about this I don't care what sex, race, religion or sexual preference one has as long as they are willing to serve, that being said however you must understand why they dont let woman into Combat MOS-s. The average Pack & Gear you march with is around 100lbs plus, the average woman is physically not designed for long term physical endurance, not an opinion it's fact.
@armysappergirl4life Second the Army dose not keep or add "weak links" , the idea that the Army "Should let woman do what they want" BS, this isn't like getting the HS football team to let girls play, this is about life and death, can you drag & or carry a 250lb man for any distance, dont forget your own gear & his? Are you tall enough to be part of holding bridging during building, lift 100lbs of ammo up into a deuce, can you do all of that & be ready to do it again in 20min?
@armysappergirl4life Third is being clean, women need to keep their vaginal area clean, as well a womans cycle requires added maintenance. I was in the field once with 2 woman that had not showered in 2 days, they stank, not like men, and in fact during Basic all women are bussed back to base for showers, they are not to spend more then 48hours without a shower. Truth be told how would you feel changing your Tampon in the wide open with your male Battle buddies around? How would they feel?
@armysappergirl4life Then we get into the shear protective nature "Built in Nature" of the male watching out for female, rather then mentally thinking about themselves and their battle buddies they will be thinking about your welfare, no matter what Females are the weaker sex, being the one that struggles to do normal Combat Duty dose not cut it, when you have to think about one person who can't do or squeaks by were everyone else can do or has no problem it becomes a danger to everyone.
@armysappergirl4life I have known tough female soldiers some of them I trust with my life, however courage dose not trump ability. I'm sorry if have taken what I have said as an insult, it's not, it's real, you deserve to be told the truth, take the truth and use it to become the best at what you can be. A Sapper is a Combat Engineer tho that title is reserved for Combat Engineers who go Air Borne (required) return to FT Leonard Wood for Sapper training & get a Sapper badge.
@armysappergirl4life On a side note Women don't have to cut their hair like males do, they don't have to score the same PT scores, they even get more money in their pay. Is that being equal, is letting a Female soldier do less for PT, get payed more, get mandatory showers, separate sleeping area, separate shower time & or shower area correct? Making extra provisions based on gender in it's self is sexist. 21C is as close to being a Combat Engineer or Sapper as a female can get.
@ramairgto72 well i agree i think they should make females and males have to do the same thing no matter what ...and if you cant do the circumstance they shouldn't join.....get me ?
@ramairgto72 and i dont give a shit what i make money wise or if i would have to cut my hair i just want to serve and protect and i will do whatever it takes to become a sapper
@armysappergirl4life You have the Motivation & Dedication, it's a pleasure to serve with that type of person. If and when you do join and I hope you do, I would be willing to give you a "heads up" on what to expect, from ASVAB to FTX & beyond. The Army changes all the time, getting a "shoe in" as a 21C is as close to being a Sapper as you can get, "for now". When your ready I can give you a few tips when you go see your Recruiter. Let me know if I can help!
@ramairgto72 you know thanks for the support there was one guy who cussed me up and down like no fucking girl should be in the army...blah blah blah...lol
@ramairgto72 so what are you in the army and if i dont go with 21c what is the closest thing to combat i can get ...like going on tour ...thanks again
@armysappergirl4life PT1 I am retired 00-06 from getting damaged in the line of duty, I was part of the Armys Bonus referral program, I recruited dew to my status, but "O" killed the program for the most part, or the "bonus" part of it. I have dealt with several people going into the service even outside the Army. I know most the ins and outs of the services. Just about any MOS can get you deployed, as how close to the "Happy Yelling" you get depends "mostly" on what kind of MOS you have.
@armysappergirl4life PT2 As far as "action" I believe that just about anyone who deploys has a chance of that, the enemy is not always going to be up on a rock with an AK, he & she can be anyone anytime, from blowing you up to stuffing you in the back of a car only to have your head removed for evening news. Think about what you want, more important think about, "How". Recruiters are like car salesmen, do your own homework with your feelings right beside it. Go all out or dont go! Any gender!
@armysappergirl4life No problem, If and when you go to your recruiter look me up again. And if you or anyone else by the matter want any help or need info about the Military let me know. I dont bull shit like some recruiters do.
@etexis 21B & 12B are one in the same, it was 12B when I was in, I think it was 05 they changed it to 21B but if you signed up for 12B then maybe they changed it back?
Any questions just ask. in any case enjoy the ride!
@jrAmPagE03 Well, you know it's not like 21B are working at a desk! The military really is not the first place I think of as the best place to live, as a 21B your going to be doing things that are dangerous & physical with many opportunities to get hurt and or die, then again ANY combat MOS is like that, however in ours you have explosives. If your not up to being a Combat Engineer then don't do it! I wish you the best in whatever you decide.
@ramairgto72 i was actually thinking of being a ranger too! haha, i would love to do that but i dont know if its worth risking my life you know what im saying?
Yes they do. Engineers are trained to detect roadside bombs and be able to fix your humv when it breaks down.. there are many differnt types of engineers. And personally makeing money doenst matter when your protecting your country..
Hay,dood that made the video, don't you hate it when people critisize the troops ? I don't understand how they kill baby's,it is dumb to go into a city and blast the shit out of it,the Army doesnt even do that, all Civi casualties were caused by : IEDS ,Suisied bombers,Taliban,Accidentally shot at by troops that were ordered to shoot in that direction etc?
will someone help me? i have a few questions first what exactly does a Combat Engineer do? and is a Sapper the same thing as a combat engineer? and my last questions is how difficult is it to get this Mos? if someone could answer my questions that would be great =)
They have many areas of Engineering I went Combat Engineer it gave me a wide area of learning. Sappers are Combat Engineers however their is "Sapper" School that teaches small squad tactics & leadership, like a small Ranger school all in Combat Engineering, in order to goto sapper school you need Airborne, so it's Fort Lost in the woods to Benning or Bragg then back to lost in woods for Sapper. It's a choice thats better told to your Sgt & or 1stSgt Commander when you get to basic.
21B is not easy, it's a OSUT or "One Station Unit Training" Basic it's the hardest non SF Basic you can ask for, and if anyone can prove me wrong reading this "put up"! Getting this MOS was a little hard for me, at MEPS they called to get me a spot as this MOS at the time was full, not sure how hard it is now.
It is very demanding, physically & mentally , they just dont let anyone do this shit. & if your look for advancement in rank & career this MOS gives back.
@barron8856 Nothing is "easy" as Combat Engineer, that is one reason rank is quick, then again I'm saying this as a dedicated Soldier with motivation will achieve rank! Do yourself a favor and remember what I say to you know, "Stand Out" push the Drills with "Confidence", Make them "Remember You" tell your Drills "I Want to Be First", " I will Do this" not "I will try", be forward, take chances, as even if you fail you still stood apart! Take this to heart. This is your moment in life, LIVE IT!
Cool video im currently in the Norwegian army surving as a Combat engineer or "storm engineer" as we call it here :) think our life expectancy is about 2,6 seconds lowest in the entire army . fuck yeah! coing to blow 7kg of Hmx tomorrow ;D going to make a hell of a bang.
@TubeBent Yeah. This vid is from my training company. We learned demolitions, infantry skills and all kinds of crap. Then I went to Iraq and built roads, built schools, trained Iraqi military troops and fought as infantry. We're the Jack-of-All-Trades of the U.S. Military.
I'm sorry can you point out where I said "oldest Army in the world"?
I hope your being a smart ass, I would hate for you to think that some how you thought that I was saying that the United States Army was marching around North America before the wheel but some how was called the United States Army?!
The US Army is older then the United States, and is older then any other American Military branch.
Does the army actually need engineers...the ones that have legitimate degrees from college? Why would somebody with an engineering degree want to do this kind of work when they could be making ten times the amount of money in the civilian world?
The Army needs Engineers, tho I think your thinking about people who use the "plumb bob", and yes they need them, they build! Dose it make more sense to snatch up some civies and send them to a battle zone and ask them to build?
As well some people think serving is worth it, even if its protecting worthless asshole cowards and or those who shit on the services while safe at home in the US.
@atwood8371 Combat Engineers play a very important role in the army they save a lot of lives and yes they are needed. and as a matter of fact remairgto72 is right the U.S. Army isn't going to give an untrained civilian a rifle and expect them to fight no they send well trained soldiers to defend morons like you so does that answer your question

@Boston1775 Boston, Combat Engineers are Infantry with explosives, I think your recruiter is screwing with your !

@Boston1775 In todays warfare Combat Engineers see just as much combat as 11Bravo. I'm in the exact same spot as you are.

@Boston1775 shit dude are you kidding? was it hard getting your waiver for ur DUI? i got one a little less than a year from now and my recruiter told me i gotta wait till this march(probation over) till i can talk. Im trying to be combat engineer. How long did ur waiver take?

NARproductions 9 months ago
@NARproductions this MOS is very physically demanding but the most important thing is always listen, physically u'll improve. 21B is like infantry w/ c4, u destroy more than u build. My best advice to u is,if you're signing up for college money, this is the wrong MOS 4 u. but if u'r willing to put your life in the line so others can survive or do their mission, then this is the one,yes u r gonna be in the front, dont let the (eng-fool u,thats why there's a combat word in front of it. 1 Sapper 2/3

hiltonsmith90 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT1 The ARMY Combat Engineer OSUT is designed to find fault with you in every area, they make you fail, no matter "what" you think your going to be good at they will find some way of overloading you with it. The Army Combat Engineer is the hardest non SF Basic in all Branches of the services even the USMC. The way to find your groove is to do what they say no matter what you think, be first, never last, purposely do minor things wrong to be remembered as in "Sure Sarge"
ramairgto72 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT2 "Sure Sarge" vs "YES DRILL SARGENT!" use it skillfully and not to piss off the SGT, sure you may "push" for it, but it shows your not just another number frightened by the Brown Round, as hard as they come down on you they look for people who show that they are no longer frightened and now looking for another challenge, as well showing 100% Soldierisim, no mess ups, clean & cut uniform squared away dress right dress while checking that your battle buddies are as well
ramairgto72 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT3 Battle buddies are as well squared away for the day will shine the most, make sure you have everything you need plus a few spares, someone is going to loose something like a pen, the first 2 weeks I swear nobody could fill up both canteens for PT or the days events, I would check my squad for water and uniform fuckups, we would pour a little from every ones canteen to even out the water, everyone is the team, no you not anyone else, work as a team. The watch you always!
ramairgto72 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT4 Don't drink milk the morning of the CS Chamber, thats a little joke the Drills do. As Milk takes longer to digest and will still be in your stomach by the time you do the CS Chamber. My class had large amount of 20s guys like myself who were little more better off then the out of HS kids. I was first in both times, 1st to do a clearing of the Pro Mask then to remove it, they made sure the entire company seen us come out, snot, spit from nose to boots & im 6'4", it was fun 4 me
ramairgto72 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT5 Forget how you fired a weapon before, it will not help you, in fact guys who have never fired before tend to do better as they do what the Drills tell them to and nothing else. Pull the weapon hard into your shoulder , pull the weapon hard into your shoulder, pull the weapon hard into your shoulder! You will have body armor on and or other gear that largely effects the outcome of your shot. Help your battle buddies no matter what even if they are assholes
ramairgto72 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT6 Remember most of all never quit, they design some of the things they you do to fail, as in you cant beat it unless you cheat and they want you to, you have to trust me on this, if they told you all to cheat everyone would, fully knowing that some obstacles are not beatable! "Leadership Course"! Be quick with answers, if you dont know fucking say "The PVT does not know the Answer" Dont fuck over your battle buddies you need them as much as they need you to make it!
ramairgto72 7 months ago
@hiltonsmith90 PT7 Lastly stop & take in what you are doing you will never have another 1st time in Basic enjoy it as if you will reflect on it when you are older & maybe answering some would be enlistees questions on youtube! Do things that stand out, all you will be thinking of doing is making it, once you "have this" push on, ask questions. Have fun you will never be this young going on a epic adventure that few get to do, soak it all in and smile. This is life at the edge you will miss it!

does a combat engineer really have a 32 second life expectancy on the battllefield??
TKDfighterBill 10 months ago
@TKDfighterBill Every MOS has a projected life expectancy. Combat Engineers clear the way or stay behind to slow down the enemy we are exposed to the edge of battle or in harms way. Not unlike SF who go behind enemy lines for operations Sappers go behind lines to destroy or build.
Doing Combat Engineer as your OSUT Basic then go SAPPER then RANGER your stacking cards in favor for advancement, as most SF groups look for 12-Bs with Demo experience, they even had flyers at FLW, no BS I seen them!
ramairgto72 10 months ago
@ramairgto72 oh okk, yeah im starting to gather ideas on something i might want to do, right now its combat engineering or airforce SEREs
TKDfighterBill 9 months ago
@TKDfighterBill Going AF is not a bad idea, the Army sees them as their younger Geek brothers & sisters, in a good way. The AF and Army are woven together in most fields. To understand why you must look back to the creation of the USAF, see this asshole Navy lover fuck singed into power that the Army can't have any fixed wing aircraft, so to off set that the USAF birthed from the Army. Most think that this was a way to keep the Army for a monopoly of military power over the Navy.
ramairgto72 9 months ago
@ramairgto72 good to see this. i'm going to try and get sf after 12b. how hard is it to get airborne training if it's not in my contract? i was unable to get option 4.
theBubbadukes 9 months ago
@theBubbadukes When you get to Basic request it! Its that easy, talk to your Drill Sgt to make it happen, if things seem like they are not moving along ask to talk to your First SGT, and if he cant make it happen TELL your Drill Sgt that you would like to talk to your Commanding Officer. You cant just walk up to your LT or Commander or even your First Sgt, you have to ask the lowest rank above you. That hoe rank works. Keep asking cuz they will test you to see how bad you want it!
ramairgto72 9 months ago
@ramairgto72 appreciate the advice and quick response. i'll make sure to go up the ladder if need be until i get airborne training or it becomes evident it's completely out of the question.
theBubbadukes 9 months ago
The US Army is not the oldest service. The National Guard is the oldest branch of service. Back when each state had it's own Militia. It is still lik that today and this is now known as the National Guard
Msalazar6sicVI 10 months ago
@Msalazar6sicVI Sorry your wrong. How could a Army NG be before having an Army, the Army commanded by Washington was created before we were a nation. You can look it up yourself in the Nation Archives.
ramairgto72 10 months ago
@ramairgto72 Sorry, YOU'RE wrong. National Guard was established in 1636. I served in the National Guard and am Currently active duty Army.
How about you look it up. Even the Marine Corps is older than this country. that's not very hard. This is a very young country.
Msalazar6sicVI 10 months ago
@Msalazar6sicVI Your WRONG high speed, NG or :No Gos" was active 1903, what your attempting to sell is "militia" of 1630s and enacted in 1636. Since we were not the "United States" or declared ourselves not part of the UK its just a militia...
14 June 1775 Army VS late USMC 10 November 1775 still makes the ARMY the oldest and the First! Thanks have a great day!
ramairgto72 10 months ago
@ramairgto72 So you're trying to say that the militias don't count because they were before we were considered The United States of America? you're contradicting yourself. The Army was established before we were the USA as well. And in case you don't know, which you don't. The National Guard is still a Militia. Every state funds their own military. I was in the Arizona National Guard. Technically speaking, Arizona could declare war on California. of course that will never happen.
Msalazar6sicVI 10 months ago
@Msalazar6sicVI Read "American Continental Army" via Continental Congress. You cant say the NG was before the US ARMY or Continental Army because it was just a "militia" nothing but guys on call with rifles BEFORE we cut ties, you just cant claim that as not true. As for the NG being "militia", its really just BS NGs are just reserve troops with less a skill set, NGs swear in diff from Federal ARMY but do reg BCT however they go home after. Most states have real militia avg joe with weapons.
ramairgto72 10 months ago
Could i be a combat engineer and still become a paratrooper?
Radion561 10 months ago
@Radion561 Short answer is yes, you can be a Combat Engineer with Air Borne wings (and or air assault) and or go to SAPPER school and become a Sapper that requires Air Borne.
Or you can go Combat Engineer then go 11-B infantry with Air Borne before or after.. Only the Army offers this kind of flexibility.
If you go 12-B Combat Engineer first it's better as having 12-B OSUT FLW as your birth into the Army is hard core, anyone can do Basic not many can do 12-B OSUT or Ranger Boot.
Ask away.

gideup409 1 year ago
@gideup409 0313 is a USMC LAV MOS. If you join the Engineers in the USMC be warned you going to end up training on ARMY gear at mostly ARMY from ARMY cadre.
Engineers are Smart Infantry.

i have a question i am heavily thinking on doing this mos, but what does it entail? what is it like? and the biggest question....how much math does it involve?
greenthrash99 1 year ago
0:56 "all other service shoot stationary targets". Very much incorrect my friend. United States Marine Corps Qualifies with movers, day and night, and also engaging targets unsupported out to 500 meters. Next time know what your talking about before saying something dumb. If you want to check check out Marine Corps Order (MCO) 3574.2K.
speedfreak247 1 year ago
@speedfreak247 The above mention of moving targets is about BRM qualification, the ARMY fires at moving & random targets from 50M to 300M.
NO OTHER SERVICE proves themselves like this, not even the USMC who fire at stationary targets at a closer distance then 300M.
I do thank you for Ira Hayes for posting here >:)
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 Not to talk like I am a Soldier. But Sir,they don't do the moving target thing anymore, its just stationary,at 300 meters away, better than some countries through. If people want to be Rifle Gods, they should join the Marine Infantry. A 12 Bravo's job is to make sure the Army doesn't get blown to kingdom come, and blow the enemy away guys.
25Milimeter 11 months ago
@25Milimeter Tho current BRM has changed some since I was in 00-06, the US Army still deploys moving pop up targets for BRM, added to BRM is close quarter combat drills, something that was not done in my class but later on, they have just condensed it. As for as "Rifle Gods" go please note that the USMC dose not require moving targets for BRM, combat unit comparison of the ARMY & USMC nets the ARMY with higher BRM scores as well even a US ARMY Olympic rifle team! Lore is the core!
ramairgto72 11 months ago
@25Milimeter By the way 21-B and or 12-Bs are Infantry with explosives, we called are "Smart Infantry" as we do what they do, get attached to infantry but can do much more, while a 11B gets done doing his job of standard combat infantry Combat Engineers end up doing that plus the ability to drive just about anything with tracks & wheels, I dont have the room here to expose this but the Combat Engineers have one of the highest rank climbing MOS, as its hard people quit, switch, get hurt & die!
ramairgto72 11 months ago
@ramairgto72 Yeah man,it should be "Sappers lead the way" cause they make sure Rangers don't get blown away.. I'm gonna probably do 12b/21b in the Army,or 1371 in the Marines, but choosing branches was always hard for me,lol.
25Milimeter 11 months ago
@25Milimeter PT1: I rem being in your spot, 2 things pushed, correction had me running to the ARMY was Rank & MOS, first the USMC gives you a % of getting your MOS, it's not in stone so you could end up in butt-fuck-Egypt on some desk job, as for rank once you hit E5 E6 you hit a wall, if you stepped on anyone's toes or screwed up in any way or your PT & BRM are not better then most they kick you out or demote you! The ARMY will not hold you to your enlistment if you dont get your MOS,
ramairgto72 11 months ago
@25Milimeter PT2: as for rank in the ARMY you do have walls, and BRM and PT counts but since the ARMY is so vast you can switch posts or MOS to suit your needs, as well education activities and programs are numerous unlike the USMC, another reason I picked the ARMY was that the USMC 90% of their training takes place at ARMY forts via ARMY cadre, they get used ARMY gear and historically have not been in every War or engagement, not even first to fight. It's up to you, lean before you leap!
ramairgto72 11 months ago
@ramairgto72 I'll keep that in mind.. Not only that happens to you in the USMC [as you mentioned in PT1],but they're kicking out Marines so they can have 185k active duty Marines, and reenlistments are also getting worse your the Marines.. But I also had another question: I'm not the best at math, what math skills does the Engineers use?
25Milimeter 11 months ago
just got a curious question... i know it always varies, but how long does the recruitment process take? ive heard up to a month, but ive also heard people taking a much longer time. I plan on applying in april (recruiter told me to do so because basic was full last year), so im guessing if i apply as early as i can, that i should get in fairly easily?
TheTopNoob 1 year ago
@TheTopNoob Recruitment takes only a few days, really its you taking the ASVAB test (& passing for your MOS), what takes long is getting your MOS. Yes I have seen people who have to hold out up to a year to go. If your going to be a Combat Engineer your going to Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and the best time to go is April. Winter OSUT sucks from what I have been told & as well it would as it's get very very very Cold in MO as well Hot in summer, so spring is a balance. Hope this helps.

@ramairgto72 thanks alot! helped alot :)
TheTopNoob 1 year ago
@TheTopNoob Don't drink Milk the morning of the CS chamber! Some morons in my company in the video above drank it on the SUGGESTION of the drill Sgts that it would some how lessen the effect of chlorobenzalmalononitrile!
Milk takes longer to digest thus staying in the stomach longer, long enough to still be in the stomach during the CS chamber where they ended up placing the milk right outside the door!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@TheTopNoob The shots of the CS chamber were later, I was in the very first group going into the chamber both times (one just to clear your Pro Mask, second to remove the mask) The second time they dumped at least 30 CS pellets into the room, while inside the moved the rest of the company to see us come out! I was hyped, then nervous then I was on adrenaline, then I was outside with snot & drule extending from my face to my boots, (I'm 6'4") burning inside & out & dry heaving! I loved it!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@TheTopNoob I enlisted for the 12b combat engineer back in September, I ship out in March. Everybody I know who has enlisted, has to wait at least 5 months. My buddy is an 11X signed up mid October, not leaving until end of March. You should sign up, and just reserve your MOS now, just tell them when you'd prefer to ship off. Delay Entry. Oh, don't expect much of an enlistment bonus for it either. 1000 for 4 years or 4000 for 6 years, was what I was offered.
JohnnyXYo2003 1 year ago
@JohnnyXYo2003
I enlisted 2 months ago and I wasnt given any type of bonus! Does it matter where the recruiter station is? I was in Chicago, Illinois.
chatownboi88 11 months ago
@chatownboi88 It's not up to the recruiter how much of a bonus would be offered. My recruiter showed me the job listings on the internet and what was available, the options and bonus' that come with the job. In short, No it doesn't matter where the recruiting station is. Also, I didn't sign up for the bonus. It wouldn't been a nice incentive, but I signed up because I wanted to do it. I leave on Monday. Good luck to you.

It's chilly for April and part of May then heats up, this is great for getting into shape in the beginning, your in cool weather that helps you out then it gets hotter but your "good".
Trust me a winter basic is screwed, freezing BRM with gloves.

For the history, some surrendered, but many fought. That is a point of view.
Join the FFL or the RPIMa and you will see a higher one.
Respect French army who still fight in Afghanistan like i did.

@s3fredo Unfortunately for you I study Military History, please tell everyone here HOW and WHY the US Army 3 ID is called "Rock Of The Marne"? Or not!
Take care on slippery slopes as France as many, at fault 2 world wars maybe excusable not much.
For your service Afghanistan IS better I will not take anything away from those who fight for freedom I am also not going to dam France as without France I could be here as a British Subject, I also like your latest scarf laws >:)
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72
Easy,the 3rd ID of U.S Army.
nicknamed the"Marne Division".Why?
Because U.S did the 2nd "Bataille de la Marne" in 1918 behind Frenchs and Britishs.150,000 for all of us.The First battle was in 1914,with much more casualties but no G.I. at this time.
No excuses for cowards in any country.BUT,
If the 'Opération Seelöwe" was a success, maybe you would speak German.

Because France has a legacy of surrendering & or not doing anything!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
What do you mean by 32 second life?
Ernblastio 1 year ago
@Ernblastio The ARMY has calculated that Combat Engineers have about 32 seconds on the modern battlefield dew to the nature of their job. Smart Infantry!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 i dont understand that 32 second stuff...... so thats how long it takes them do there job or how long it takes them to die? lol im confused......
TheDevenrocks 1 year ago
@TheDevenrocks Death, since Combat Engineers go "in front" of the main body of the main force we are tasked to clear anything that would slow or stop the main force from continuing. With this current war Combat Engineers are tasked with "Route Clearance" among other things. This includes rendering IEDs useless or into "bits" Mines, traps, bridges, fortifications & when we are not doing that we are infantry... 32 seconds expected life on the modern battlefield. in 2000 as an E2 I made .32 hour.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 Thanks, I've been thinking of enlisting and this MOS has grabbed my attention.
Ernblastio 1 year ago

Return from X mas was a bitch 11pm last day I rolled in, just made it!

ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 Seriously tho not to sound rude, do 12bravos have such a short life expectancy? Where are these numbers coming from?
SSasskicker 1 year ago
@SSasskicker The military has a "life expectancy" time line for at least "Combat MOS" Soldiers. The 21-B (12-B) Combat Engineer is required to venture out beyond the front lines to "Clear The Way" (motto) as well stay behind destroying and/or slow down any force with explosives! We are Smart Infantry, Combat Engineers are the most capable units in the Military with multiple skills aka a Force Multiplier in Military terms. We are in harms way more then not! 32 seconds >:)
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 That pretty kick ass to know and I bet they really are the most capable soldiers at what they do. You just pumped me up bro, I enlisted recently as a 12b myself. I leave in November for OSUT at Leanordwood. In training for the Sapper Tab when im eligible for it (Still an E-3 atm) Thanks for the info bro.
SSasskicker 1 year ago
@SSasskicker You in for an adventure! I was Echo 35th. If you want Sapper go see your Drill Sgt when you get to your Company, tell them you want Sapper they can put you on the right track, after OSUT they will send you to Air Borne school as you need to be AB for Sapper. Sapper is done at FLW, about a 10min walk from just about any Engineer Barracks on post, if your lucky the Drills will take you to the Sapper course to rapell & do shit. Stand out, they look for leaders with no fear!

I'll be shipping to Ft. Leonardwood as a 21B (i think its the same thing) Nov. 16th for OSUT. Maybe I'll meet ya there.

armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life Fist a applaud you for wanting to serve and as far as I feel about this I don't care what sex, race, religion or sexual preference one has as long as they are willing to serve, that being said however you must understand why they dont let woman into Combat MOS-s. The average Pack & Gear you march with is around 100lbs plus, the average woman is physically not designed for long term physical endurance, not an opinion it's fact.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life Second the Army dose not keep or add "weak links" , the idea that the Army "Should let woman do what they want" BS, this isn't like getting the HS football team to let girls play, this is about life and death, can you drag & or carry a 250lb man for any distance, dont forget your own gear & his? Are you tall enough to be part of holding bridging during building, lift 100lbs of ammo up into a deuce, can you do all of that & be ready to do it again in 20min?
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 yes i can
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life Third is being clean, women need to keep their vaginal area clean, as well a womans cycle requires added maintenance. I was in the field once with 2 woman that had not showered in 2 days, they stank, not like men, and in fact during Basic all women are bussed back to base for showers, they are not to spend more then 48hours without a shower. Truth be told how would you feel changing your Tampon in the wide open with your male Battle buddies around? How would they feel?
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life Then we get into the shear protective nature "Built in Nature" of the male watching out for female, rather then mentally thinking about themselves and their battle buddies they will be thinking about your welfare, no matter what Females are the weaker sex, being the one that struggles to do normal Combat Duty dose not cut it, when you have to think about one person who can't do or squeaks by were everyone else can do or has no problem it becomes a danger to everyone.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life I have known tough female soldiers some of them I trust with my life, however courage dose not trump ability. I'm sorry if have taken what I have said as an insult, it's not, it's real, you deserve to be told the truth, take the truth and use it to become the best at what you can be. A Sapper is a Combat Engineer tho that title is reserved for Combat Engineers who go Air Borne (required) return to FT Leonard Wood for Sapper training & get a Sapper badge.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life On a side note Women don't have to cut their hair like males do, they don't have to score the same PT scores, they even get more money in their pay. Is that being equal, is letting a Female soldier do less for PT, get payed more, get mandatory showers, separate sleeping area, separate shower time & or shower area correct? Making extra provisions based on gender in it's self is sexist. 21C is as close to being a Combat Engineer or Sapper as a female can get.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 well i agree i think they should make females and males have to do the same thing no matter what ...and if you cant do the circumstance they shouldn't join.....get me ?
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life yea thats exactly what i think
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 and i dont give a shit what i make money wise or if i would have to cut my hair i just want to serve and protect and i will do whatever it takes to become a sapper
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life You have the Motivation & Dedication, it's a pleasure to serve with that type of person. If and when you do join and I hope you do, I would be willing to give you a "heads up" on what to expect, from ASVAB to FTX & beyond. The Army changes all the time, getting a "shoe in" as a 21C is as close to being a Sapper as you can get, "for now". When your ready I can give you a few tips when you go see your Recruiter. Let me know if I can help!

armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 so what are you in the army and if i dont go with 21c what is the closest thing to combat i can get ...like going on tour ...thanks again
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life PT1 I am retired 00-06 from getting damaged in the line of duty, I was part of the Armys Bonus referral program, I recruited dew to my status, but "O" killed the program for the most part, or the "bonus" part of it. I have dealt with several people going into the service even outside the Army. I know most the ins and outs of the services. Just about any MOS can get you deployed, as how close to the "Happy Yelling" you get depends "mostly" on what kind of MOS you have.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life PT2 As far as "action" I believe that just about anyone who deploys has a chance of that, the enemy is not always going to be up on a rock with an AK, he & she can be anyone anytime, from blowing you up to stuffing you in the back of a car only to have your head removed for evening news. Think about what you want, more important think about, "How". Recruiters are like car salesmen, do your own homework with your feelings right beside it. Go all out or dont go! Any gender!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72 thanks for your help
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life No problem, If and when you go to your recruiter look me up again. And if you or anyone else by the matter want any help or need info about the Military let me know. I dont bull shit like some recruiters do.

women can become sappers or basic combat engineers right?
armysappergirl4life 1 year ago
@armysappergirl4life Currently 21B or 12B is not open to Females, however 21C or 12C is, that MOS is a bridging unit.
I'm sorry but as it is today Combat MOS do not allow woman to join, if you go 21C you will go to Basic with Combat Engineers.

are your chances of survival as a combat engineer slim? i was told the opposite by my recruiter
jrAmPagE03 1 year ago
@jrAmPagE03 Well, you know it's not like 21B are working at a desk! The military really is not the first place I think of as the best place to live, as a 21B your going to be doing things that are dangerous & physical with many opportunities to get hurt and or die, then again ANY combat MOS is like that, however in ours you have explosives. If your not up to being a Combat Engineer then don't do it! I wish you the best in whatever you decide.

@ramairgto72 i was actually thinking of being a ranger too! haha, i would love to do that but i dont know if its worth risking my life you know what im saying?

will someone help me? i have a few questions first what exactly does a Combat Engineer do? and is a Sapper the same thing as a combat engineer? and my last questions is how difficult is it to get this Mos? if someone could answer my questions that would be great =)
jesus65515 1 year ago
@jesus65515
It's a choice thats better told to your Sgt & or 1stSgt Commander when you get to basic.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@jesus65515
Ask Away!
& if your look for advancement in rank & career this MOS gives back.
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@ramairgto72
so your saying its easy to rank up in 21b cause i go to ft L WOOD for basic in aug
barron8856 1 year ago
@barron8856 Nothing is "easy" as Combat Engineer, that is one reason rank is quick, then again I'm saying this as a dedicated Soldier with motivation will achieve rank! Do yourself a favor and remember what I say to you know, "Stand Out" push the Drills with "Confidence", Make them "Remember You" tell your Drills "I Want to Be First", " I will Do this" not "I will try", be forward, take chances, as even if you fail you still stood apart! Take this to heart. This is your moment in life, LIVE IT!

So, combat engineers do do more than just route clearance, and building roads and bridges?
TubeBent 1 year ago

I expected higher IQs when I wrote it!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
Does the army actually need engineers...the ones that have legitimate degrees from college? Why would somebody with an engineering degree want to do this kind of work when they could be making ten times the amount of money in the civilian world?
atwood8371 1 year ago
@atwood8371
Better people then most!
ramairgto72 1 year ago
@atwood8371 Combat Engineers play a very important role in the army they save a lot of lives and yes they are needed. and as a matter of fact remairgto72 is right the U.S. Army isn't going to give an untrained civilian a rifle and expect them to fight no they send well trained soldiers to defend morons like you so does that answer your question
