  • This song was introduced to the public by Harriet Hilliard in the 1937 movie "LIFE OF THE PARTY" and was also recorded by Harriet singing with Ozzie Nelson and his orchestra on Brunswick. Ozzie and Harriet went on to become early television stars in their series "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" which introduced Ricky and David Nelson ... their two boys to the viewing public.

  • I'm so glad I learned about her. Gorgeous voice.

By the way what is the font you used for the intro, haha..

  • Thank you for posting this, great memories of my childhood. To try and run from the past is madness - and impossible I think.

  • I heard this randomly on Pandora and loved it because I had a rose bush that kept blooming on into December.

  • Her voice and style evolved but basically kept the same virtues as the years passed.

  • Well, this is marvelous! thank you.

  • Absolutely wondeful thank you for the post

  • rip james m. barrie.

  • RReady:

You've put the words to the quality Vera lynn had in the 30s "beguiling girlishmess." It shows in her voice and appearance in a clip I'm trying to locate with her looking like a young girl singing to troops gathered close around her. Do you by any chance know its name? It is somewhere on YouTube. Thanks for all the fine things you've posted on Vera Lynn and your words about her.

  • well another vera before my time again but a well known artist thank you

  • Glad you like it, Paul--Winnick's band had a distinctly smooth style.

  • I don't think I have heard this one before, but better late than never! This is a very nice song, sung by a great singer.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Very glad you like it, too, Corrie! It's always fun to see how artists' styles change over their careers... ;)

  • You're most welcome, Corrie!
