  • Amazing song.

  • That's what you call stepping away in a first-class style!

  • Pingu should get some money for that loop

  • It stays amazing! I think it's a legendary song. Indeed, the a-aa-a--.. (or what it is) stays in your mind all the time, and the lyrics to.

  • ...Walking on sole's (souls) Made In China... so true.

  • I love this song. The beginning is like Teletubies (eh-oh) Woohoo!

  • se pasaron con esa cancion :)

    esta genial

    :3

  • Oasis - The Verve - Coldplay -------- Completely different bands and shouldn't really be linked with eachother. Just appreciate the musical genius of all three bands. C'mon, it could be worse, we could be American having to listen to Rap and shit! Peace x

  • my girlfriend is lying.... coment on this post..

  • My oppinion is that The Verve isn't better than Coldplay cause the album "Viva La Vida" was really great but that's me everyone has his own oppinion. =-)

  • the verve is fuck !!

    best band !! :D

  • Blur are better than,

The Verve who are better than,

Oasis who are also awesome though.

    :D

  • @razian15 The Verve, original of them all!!! G.

  • Nowadays Verve became better than Oasis & Coldplay , although I respect them, both!

    LOVE is PAIN!

  • ummm. every1 forgettin about joy division?

  • I fucking love them and this song. Big Love to every one.

  • the best band from UK right now and since the 90's PERIOD !!!!

  • no, oasis is FULL STOP!!

  • They are superb but Oasis is by far the best band.

  • Obviously never worked for the IRA so...

  • i like

  • all i can say about this song is . ooh ooh ohh ooh wooh wooh wee wee wee . ah oh ah oh ah oh .

  • lovin it man, i love the verve

p.s keep this kind of vid comin mate o.k!

  • The Verve are just FANTASTIC

  • really awsome!!!

i didn't really liked the vere but this song has changed that!

    i really love it

  • i like this song but i hate that fucking man at the end

  • tought first it was a song of U2 :-)

    real good !!!

  • I thought too!

  • fuck off, U2....

  • This tune is not a tune... it is an anthem!!!

  • this bands awesome!!

  • cool

  • i know this is a longshot but does anyone know where i can get a hat like the one nick's wearing in this picture.cheers!

  • Just saw them at the V festival in Stafford.... they were the highlight by miles! This song is absolutely FANTASTIC!

  • Awesome live, the guys give it all, Richard connects with his audience like no one else, strong comeback....

  • i love that background noise... it makes the song so great.

  • its not background noise. its reverb etc

  • Are you people mad? This is awesome

  • blueroo i agree ! . the excellent voice of richard ashcroft is made to play second fiddle . to the agrivating sample track of . ah oh ah oh ah oh .ah oh wooh wohh ah ah .woo wooh ah ah ho ho what the ... is that all about ? . this drags through the entire track virtually hi-jacking the entire song .

  • Could be interpreted as the mentally ill woman on little britain, but none the less a good song

  • Bellissima canzone!!!!

  • Best song I've heard since Sunrise Avenue "Fairytale gone bad". Cool, luv it !!!

  • Another CLASSIC from the boyz from Wigan. It's a new take on 'Jerusalem' by William Blake for all you uncultured clueless lil pricks out there. Now play 'History', and check out John Keats...

  • i agree its shocking. The song shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Urban Hymns; it is that bad.

  • WOOOOOOOHOOOOO.

this song is a beauutyyy :)

  • canzone fantastica!!

  • incredible

  • I think the song itself is an absolute corker, but has been let down in the recording and production. Live it sounds absolutely IMMENSE and this is, comparatively, a bit flat. Still a great song though; below par by The Verve's standards, well above par compared to everything else in the mainstream in the last 10 years.

*having said that, the 'a-ha, a-ha' bits in the background remind me too much of Ricky Gervais' screeching.

  • I think the problem's in the production too. Trying to make them sound like U2 was a bad idea. (There's nothing inherently wrong with trying to sound like U2 -- but for a band whose strong point has always been the opposite: improv/jam/flow, this kind of carefully segmented production is too confining). Also, it's ill-advised to run an irritating sample entirely through a song that's due to get massive airplay. But other than these production gripes, it's a solid song.

  • Disappointing. Expected sthg better. What is this duck-like sound for ? Hiding the mediocrity of the song ?? Probably...

  • raultom2 u must be havin a laugh its fkn quality!

  • what a tune

  • disaster vocals....jesus christ. i expected much better return song.

  • Doesnt it sounds like Cobain when it says "love is pain, love is this blues that im singing again and again..", i love that, really nice song.

  • what a tune

  • Pretty good song but the whole weird background vocal thing needs to used less- its cool at times but not for the whole damned song- another thing This almost sounds like a Neil Diamond song and thats not a bad thing!!!!

  • The Verve is back!!! I love that

  • i'm clearly not a genius, because i don't know how to spell it!

  • love the song, but still not convinced by the weird backing vocal/noise...oh well, richard ashcroft is a genious so it's ok!

  • I don't like it

This song isn't like the verve that i used to know

    Very disappointed!!!

  • I saw this live at Glastonbury for the first time ever, what a song! what a reception! They made place go crazy, one of the best nights I have ever had.

  • schön

  • This is amazing...it's just great..if anyone dislikes this..they are lying...one absolute class song

  • Comeback? The verve never went away.

  • Check out my version!

    It's got a better Quality!

  • great song, verve are cool for playing at yet to be released last at GLASTO..,U GOTTA HAVE BALLS TODO THAT.., i like the back looop...remeinds me of way suede went with direction of head music..,i agree with wellbanging below, hearing it live at glasto.. really makes this sound soft, but great comeback song, hope the labums more up beat like this,..they have wallowed enough lol...prefer their first 4 early e'ps over anything they done or ever will do.!

  • absolute legends. Love all there tracks and Richard Ashcrofts solo stuff too.Seen them on glastonbury last night and they where without doubt the best band of the weekend.

  • great at glasto wish i was there

  • Watched at Glasto - new song is absolutely amazing ;)

  • what is there new song?

  • are you serious??This is there new song

  • This was absolutely amazing on the glasto show, first time I heard it, its got the verve groove all over it with a newer up beat sound. Mccabes guitar on this is fantastic and ashcroft was at his best fronting the band.

  • I might be a bit prejudiced in judging this song, as I was hoping The Verve would play "Come On", as their last song on the Pyramid stage last night rather than this.

  • the live version I saw on tv during their Glastonbury performance fucking kicked ass. Not quite as good on cd, but still a good song.

  • ARRRRRRR i love this song

  • glastonbury performance was amazin on tv!!!

  • not sure yet few more listens maybe but its not a instant hit

  • It's good but I wish there was more of a Nick McCabe influence stamped on it

  • I agree, this sounds like more of a Richard Ashcroft solo song...it's excellent and insanely catchy, to be sure, but for the first single, I'd have chosen a full-on rock song, to let the masses know the band is back...but hey, good music stands on its own merit. And this song is very good. I love that backing vocal.

  • a great track, if it was a solo-projekt from Richard Ashcroft, but this is the verve. Why the fuuuck is this first track. I´ve heard 3 other tracks from the album "forth", and they all reprentend the verve much better

  • I don't like it

Sounds like The Verve vs. The Killers

    Which isn't a good thing

  • Im not sure if Im feelin it.

  • the verve are the greatest rock band in the history of music.

  • Are them radio guys sweedish??

  • Nope their English

  • top league Verve lads...

  • great comeback single good to see they have tried something diffrent and for those hoping for the dreamy psychedelia of old,ive heard theirs enough tracks on the new album to keep us happy.can't wait!

  • Great song of a great band!!!

  • Excellent!

  • Alright lads! Where've you been?

    Class.

  • Good comeback song, I like it but I agree what the others say its more of a Richard Ashcroft song than The Verve.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ashcroft but the earlier Verve stuff with McCabes dreamy guitar rhiffs are better.

  • Just simply love it. Can't get enough of it.

  • thanks for uploading. seeing them sunday at Glastonbury

  • This could be solo Richard Ashcroft. It doesn't sound like Nick McCabe is playing on this at all. You can hear his swirling guitar on the live versions, but if he's on this I can't hear it. Bit middle of the road really.

I've still got hope for the album though. I Sit And Wonder sounds like it could have been on A Northern Soul.

  • could've used some more bass guitar, but nice and catchy.

  • the hit tv show fame?

    night at the roxbury?

    Flashdance?

    I know it's not a bird

    guess i'll just be thankful

    for my gravity grave

double chrome lp of Northern Soul

    and She's a superstar

  • these are no bird squawks!

i have senn it live its richards voice..

  • Yes...this is a typical THE VERVE song. A killer right from the beginning...catchy and alive. He´s got that certain something in his voice, not really many do got it. And the lyrics couldn`t be any truer. Great tune...though the sample of that barking something nerves a bit.

  • do i smell the bee gees

I feel like the only person who remembers what the verve SOUNDED like...

this is just another Richard Ashcroft solo.

This sounds like it should be on staying alive the sequel to saturday night fever.

and the bird squawks aren't really doing anything for me either.

  • I heard the song last Saturday live at the rock-a-field festival and it only took seconds 'till the tune got me completely.

    Great song!

  • Love this song! I'm glad they're back.

  • Does anyone think it sounds like the crazy frog in the background?

I love the Verve and it's a good tune but I just don't know about that backing vocal. Hopefully it'll sound better when it's not being played through a shitty computer speaker.

  • what are you talkin about????!!!!

  • fuckin classic

  • up there with history!!!

  • Never a doubt that the band would disappoint with the new releases!

    Love it.

  • cheers for uploading, fucking fantastic comeback, still can't get over the fact the verve are back, still making the best music around, worlds apart from anything out at the moment this.

  • love is noise

  • great song. what a voice. cool guitar tones and overdubs. a little retro but not too much. just right.
