I'm with the engineer. Hardcore partisans (left and right) will typically overlook unethical or even criminal conduct of their fellow partisans. Ziegler only threw Keene under the bus when he believed that Keene wasn't sufficiently conservative. When you follow someone around after having been asked not to, it is a form of harrassment and intimidation. The man would have been within his rights to hit 'im.
If someone continues to harrass you after you've stated they're bothering you, that constitutes a threat, and you have a right to use force to contain it. The status of invited guest doesn't affect the matter either way.
So are you saying that if any journalist asks a question that is pertinent and it upsets you, you have the right to label him as being a threat? Perhaps if they were making up complete bullshit they may be a credible response.

While I think that you are right, people can perceive it as a threat, this guy was annoyed not threatened. I'm sure there was only one person calling the other a jerk and a scumbag. If he was yelling, jostling him or getting physical in any other form then I would agree with you in this case, but I think that was just persisting and there was no real threat.

The concept of dealing with threatening behavior is to complex to deal with on a purely statutory basis. That's why they have such things as use of force continiums and notions of "what is within the scope of reasonable". The fact that the 'reporter' followed and kept harrasing him constitutes strong-arm intimidation, which is usually percieved as a threat, though not by you it seems.

I understand Ziegler's methodology, and he at least doesn't use an abrasive tone when he speaks, but he keeps at it a bit too long, as I've witnessed several times in researching him. He WANTS to get arrested to make his points.

I'm with the engineer. Hardcore partisans (left and right) will typically overlook unethical or even criminal conduct of their fellow partisans. Ziegler only threw Keene under the bus when he believed that Keene wasn't sufficiently conservative. It's great that Ziegler exposed Keene but he didn't do it for ethical reasons and he better hope there's no skeletons in his closet because Keene will be looking. I'll be laughing when the shoe is on the other foot.

If someone continues to harrass you after you've stated they're bothering you, that constitutes a threat, and you have a right to use force to contain it. The status of invited guest doesn't affect the matter either way.

While I think that you are right, people can perceive it as a threat, this guy was annoyed not threatened. I'm sure there was only one person calling the other a jerk and a scumbag. If he was yelling, jostling him or getting physical in any other form then I would agree with you in this case, but I think that was just persisting and there was no real threat.

Yeah, I thought so. You couldn't find a law so you pulled it straight out of your ass. In virtually every state, you can only use physical force if you are physically threatened. The reporter did not physically threaten him at all. Keene cannot lay a finger on this guy. The only thing Keene can do is to have building security escort the reporter off the premises.

The concept of dealing with threatening behavior is to complex to deal with on a purely statutory basis. That's why they have such things as use of force continiums and notions of "what is within the scope of reasonable". The fact that the 'reporter' followed and kept harrasing him constitutes strong-arm intimidation, which is usually percieved as a threat, though not by you it seems.
