  • The Third World is here and they are cannibals whether you like it or not.

Perhaps you are too naive to realize this.

  • Abortion seems better than modest proposal.. -_-

  • Nice rap!

  • Maybe Jonathan Swift was serious.

Who can sustain these grifting, black handed beggars who insist on breeding irresponsibly?

Valuing zeros and quantity over quality!

  • @OfficialUSPostage lol everyone knows he wasn't serious. Jonathan Swift is known for his satire

  • @OfficialUSPostage Well seeing the fact that he was a protestant minister, and the fact that after people were alarmed at his essay (not realizing the satire) he had to explain his persona, I think it's safe to assume that he was not being serious

  • hahaha this just made me seriously excited to write my mid-term english essay!! hahaha

  • Johnathan Swift: Original troll

  • We watched this in English :D

  • You racist bastards are hilarious!

  • This man is a genius!!!!and this video is so damn funny!LUVD it!

  • DAMN! I was always wondering what happened to Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit , guess he turned to a chief :P

  • This is even better because he references Dr. Dre.

  • @SLIqNASTY he refers to Johnathan Swift's modest proposal ..

  • Unfortunately, the republicans are seriously considering it now.

  • I remember reading this for the first time in English class. I was so bored by the monotonous talk about the economy, and then when I heard that British guy on the CD recording my teacher was playing, say that his solution was to eat the babies, the whole class was like, "Wait, WHAT?" XD Swift was a genius.

  • - This is awesome. Nice job.

  • I loool'd

  • Genius Satire! I am Irish and we need another Jonattan Swift....

  • Genius!

  • Great Asian women for you ***lushfmlk.info***

  • I Love it!

  • No way out man Asian women #lushfmlk.info#

  • HOW has this not gotten more love? It's a clever, funny homage, and you've got some pretty good rhymes going on too, haha!

I thought the Fox News style visual presentation was a nice touch. Am I right on picking that up or just imagining it? :)

  • @phillydogger I agree completely. This guy took Swift's work and gave it a wonderfully deep melody. I love this song.

  • You're not the best rapper I've ever heard, but I liked this. The source material is classic, and your rhymes are, what do the kids say these days? "Tight"?

I'm not so much a fan of the guy eating in the kitchen. He was a bit nauseating at the end. I like the idea of cutting back and forth between the "news anchor" and a 2nd character, though.

Over all, I'd give this about a 6.5 out of 10. Not too shabby! ;)

  • haha TECH9!!!

  • The people on here that are taking the proposal seriously are the reason why America can't fix an damn oil spill and the best they can come up with is a box and some cement injection

  • this is helping me study for my english test

    lol

  • BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!! You took the essay and made into art. You even sold the point of the essay in an almost *real* way. The modest proposal was completely satirical and this video gave it a voice. Bravo!

  • We just read this in my English class. Even though the teacher told us it was satire, some f the students still thought it was disgusting. I thought it was funny!

  • $tric9 is white poison... lol...

  • Can't believe I just noticed this, thats disgusting.

  • LOL forever

  • good video. i'm 40 years old and think it's witty and inventive.

  • satire =D

  • Swift would have compared Glenn Beck to the spider in his Battle of the Books.

  • Haha I thought I should tell you that my university professor used your vid as a way to introduce the essay to the class :p haha great vid guys!

  • i had that beat it was BARE annoyin!!!

  • I think the funniest part of the Modest proposal are the people who don't realize it's satire and totally freak out when they read it.

  • Comment removed

  • @carasaib Which people are those? I think it's pretty obvious.

  • yo that beat is sick

  • so hilarious! Jonathan Swift was a genius in his satire.

  • i played poker with this guy he sleept on my couch. total two birds with one stone feed the hungry with the hungry.

  • Is it just me, or was he not wearing pants? x_x

  • I know this is satirical, but it'd be the idea of the century if it were possible!

  • funny

  • Comment removed

  • this is a good idea

  • oh i remember this from history

    its origanly about ireland

    its just

    a new version

  • hi

this guy done the brilliant eat the rich..

i cant find the film eat the rich anywere

  • thats creepy weather ur jking or not

    pooface!!!!!!!! suck it

  • It's creepy but it's based on Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal, it was meant to shock and horrify the rich into helping the poor by presenting a plan to cook and eat the children of the poor so the poor could make some money. He challenged the rich by asking if they could come up with a better plan.

  • @MokuCat yup we read that in my college english class, world lit last spring. We watch this after finished it

  • @MokuCat

It's actually deeper than that, they were not just poor, they were poor and Irish. The Irish got so much bullshit and flak from the Brits during the old times it's not funny. Some people even saw the Irish as subhuman and proceeded to treat them as so as well.

  • @MokuCat It was more of a satire than an attempt at striking fear into people

  • @RobinErin95

dude... get some books! i don't think you should start with jonathan swift, maybe winnie the pooh would be a good start, but the point is that you could definitely use some education...

  • Do you not have any education? This is was based on one of the most famous satirical pieces in English literature. It's not to be taken seriously. Swift wrote the original to get the rich to consider those living in poverty. Neither he nor the creator of this video are suggesting it seriously. You seriously need some educating, dude.

  • eat shit kid...

  • A) I'm hardly a kid, B) I said nothing to you to warrant such a stupid response.

  • wow this is better then sparknotes lol

  • Well done! Love this video.

  • u can actually rap .lol..makes the vid even better

  • fresh, drop me a comment if ur ready to end the world as we know it pal

  • Genius! Swift would've been proud.

  • this is amazing, my english teacher showed it to us in class today!

  • Hahaha this is hilarious and very accurate!

  • That was an amazing and accurate rendition of A Modest Proposal - the BEST, period. I've shown all my friends this video, and they all loved it! Also, I love the ending!

(The only criticism I can give is that this rap didn't include Swift addressing the problems of selling teenagers for food)

  • One of my favorite videos of all time. My class 12th grade class was shown this video 2 years ago after reading a Modest Proposal.

I hope this video continues to entertain for years to come!

  • Lol. This is a fun rendition of beautiful classic satire. =P

  • found this on 711

    got permabanned from 4

my peoples will know what i mean

  • ok, iv been banned from 420 and 711

they really dont like me =[

im on 7 now tho :D

  • wait this was just satire? damn i thought swift was serious about it...

fuck i lost some respect for him

  • my english teacher showed us this today

such a sick rhyme and johnathan swift was a fucking genius when he wrote this.

    satire ftw

  • This is awesome!

  • uhh.... wtf?

  • i read this in the 10th grade and looking at this 2 years later and ew i have a new view.

  • i pray i don't get fired for showing this to my 12th grade british lit class!!

  • My teacher showed this video to us. No one complained.

  • lol Our literature class read this essay.

  • this is brilliant, it should be featured.

    unbelievable. its so good

  • hahahaha i'm about to write a rhetorical analysis on this. wooooooo this inspired me.

  • it's brilliant, we just have to market it correctly....we could call it soylent meat

  • LOL. Your brilliant.

  • Fantastic.

  • This is one amazing video. I am doing an assignment of rhetorical analysis on the piece by swift and this video is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!

  • Though... I guess I should add that I definitely DON'T condone the consumption of babies.

  • This is actually pretty well done.

  • you guys are sick saying sell your babies to the rich you disgust me

  • read the description. its based on a satirical essay written 300 years ago.

  • Buddy, it's based on Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal", a satirical essay to get the rich working to help poverty. Anybody with a bit of high school education knows it wasn't a serious suggestion.

  • this is a great piece of satire .wish jonathan swift was still alive to see this video .hhhhhhhhhh . perfect job guys i love it

  • Nice job on J swifts proposal - you "wrapped" it up. Wasn't there a Swift meat company 4 real? I think it was bought out.

  • A perfect Hip-Hop rendition of the Modest Proposal. Nice job.

  • What? You think this is a joke? Check out Bohemian Grove--then shudder in the dark!

  • FN brilliant. I honestly can't believe this hasn't been done before. Great Job!

  • man yu are awesomeee!!

  • Nice.

  • man Nine.. I remember how sad I was when I realized this song was a joke..

  • And I still don't think he's wearing pants in this DAVE.

  • you're still calling me that?

but I'm pretty sure he's not. he has to go make those babies

  • You need a radio edit so I can show this to my class! For real!

  • @milkphobic tell your pussy ass classmates to suck it up and deal with a few cuss words i mean fucking shit

  • @milkphobic My teacher showed it anyway, ha!

  • @bri1a4n Same here.

  • I love you guys. Seriously, love love love!

  • I love your take-off from Jonathan Swift's "Modest Proposal". Are you an English Major from Iowa? Would seem appropriate!!!

  • It's a joke, dude, just like Swift's modest proposal was. He's the Stephen Colbert of rappers.

He's got a large following amongst the liberal media in Des Moines.

  • Are you retarded? Seriously? It's satire. Look it up.

  • This video was superb. Superb.

    *****

  • hahaha yes! that was great!

  • THIS IS GREAT!!!

    5/5 stars

  • I normally hate rap but this is really really well done. You sir have quite a talent.

  • nice work!

  • I don't know how in the hell MTV would overlook this guy and go for shit acts such as Fitty "Poor Man who hides behind police" Cent, and *ugh* Soulja Boooiiiiii.

You, my White-American friend, have talent.

  • lol this is very well done. awesome job

  • Swift in a contemporary context. Brilliant! *though I must say that I am not a fan of rap... good job anyway!*

  • Very good job with video, and lyrics. Much enjoyed. Never thought that i would ever apprectiate a hip hop song based on a 1700's essay.

  • Wow great job guys! My friend actually just gave me a copy of Swift's A Modest Proposal. I love the hip hop version you guys have here.

  • VERY GOOD! So instead of making babies in order to qualify for welfare and food stamps, they can fuck up their own dinner... trouble is, it takes too long in the oven.......

  • Try it as carpaccio...slice it thin and garnish with soy sauce and ginger. Instant gratification.

  • i think you just might have made my day

  • This is very very awesome.

  • This is DA SHIT! I don't listen to rap but I love your stuffs (especially this and Big Mac Attack)!

  • I have to admit, I nearly fell asleep in class during the Jonathan Swift presentation. The student who was doing to presentation showed the class your video for the visual portion of her presentation, and I can honestly say that your video is what woke me up and made me pay attention (kind of strange, considering I usually don't like hip-hop.) Anyway, great job, and thanks for making Swift's proposal more appealing. :)

  • this clip is a fantastic homage to the satirical & ironic political essay by of j. swift (critising the establishment for exploitng the poor in ireland). to think, it was written so long ago and it still holds true.....that's the sad part of it all!

  • gives "baby back ribs" a whole new meaning.

  • Wow, he does look like Tarantino.

  • YEAH dude and I thi9nk Jonathan Swift is freaking hilarious for thinking this, especially since he was serious, I have not read his Book but have read exerts online lol, I watched this RAP 1 year ago and I was watching an episode of sealab today and they mentioned it so i was like sweeet its time to watch again! :P

  • lol swift wasnt serious! if thats what u just sed.

    It was a satire

  • Magic.

  • Wow, the solution.... to everything.

  • Cant. Stop. Laughing!

  • Brilliant.

  • This dude looks/talks like Quentin Tarantino. Pretty disconcerting.

  • $trick9 is the new voice of our generation. As crazy as this idea may sound, let's think about this for a second...yah, it's a really good idea. I'm pulling for $trick9 for prex in 2020. Goodbye poverty. Hello dope rhymes.

  • It wasn't "$trick9"'s idea. It was Jonathan Swift's.
