i just bought one of these. its serious when you shoot full load 44 mags even with the nice rubber grip. I love shooting it but it feels like a quarter stick going off in the palm of your hand. its a badass gun and i'm glad i bought it.
cracks me up when people complain about recoil from a full 44 mag load. Muy wife, who is only 100 pounds, shot 25 rounds yesterday through the same gun, but PD edition with 4 in barrel. . i shot 50. Not to brag, but just to set realisitic expectation. With a nice rubber grip, It simply ain't that bad. I am going to post vids of her shooting it today -- check em out if you wish.
Keep in mind, basic hardball for the .45 is 230 gr FMJ. Anything around 200gr should be fine with this firearm. I spent years carrying a Charter .44 special Bulldog. Leave it in the bedroom, and when you need it, find it under the car seat. leave it in the car, and it will be under your pillow. Followed me around. About half the price. However, I always worried about the dependability. Never had any problems. Would prefer the S&W for guaranteed quality.
This gun will hurt you with full load ammo, shot my 329 with 200gr JHP and 26 gr of W296, OMG that hurt!! Only got off 2 shots before I had to put it down. The reloads were for my Desert Eagle and way too much for the 329. My 500 mag with full load ammo doesn't hurt as much. Live and learn!!
what u see us shooting is light 44 spl loads, we did shoot some full boar loads, they were any fun at all. im sure there r some heavier loads we could use, but i only use this for the 2 legged types, i use my alaskan for bear country
I have a 329pd 4 inch barrel. The thing is brutal shooting full 44 mag loads. I have found that Speer makes a 200 grain Hollowpoint for short barrel pistols that is mild but has more energy than 44 special loads, might be good for your gun. Also Speer makes a 210 grain 44 mag Hollowpoint that is not bad either. These scandium pistols hurt like hell with full power 44 mag loads. They are great pistols though.
I'm new to 44s so forgive (or berate) my ignorance, but isn't that suppose to have serious kick? Is that a magnum that will put down a bear as well as a cracked out meth-head (in the early stages of addiction, e.g. still kinda healthy?

If your'e going to test a 44Mag, test a 44Mag. Don't wimp out with 44 Spl.

Why download a 44mag to less than 357mag levels? Why not buy a 357Mag in the first place? Did you just want the impressive sounding name of "44mag"?

@xyzyx69 they were shooting .44 special loads which are not as powerful and dont have the tremendous recoil as a regular .44 load
